  1. Good discussion, I am now much more aware of pelican rights. But seriously, interesting story about the casino Cowboyz1. It sounds like the phrase started as a term of admiration (the Indians with red warpaint), then became a widely used derogatory term and in today's world has mostly lost its meaning outside of being the name of a pro football team. As Cowboyz1 said & that poll shows, low on the list of Indian issues. But I think it is a stain on our history and should be changed. I don't totally buy the money argument. Changing the name would generate plenty of money, especially if it's a good name. If you go from the Redskins to the Cherry Blossoms (that was pretty funny & spot-on for DC) yeah there'd be a drop in value. What I don't want to do is start having to change every Indian-related name in the country, which is what some people want to do. So I'd like to see the Redskins change their name to some other Indian-related, fierce sounding name, maybe something related to the tribe that originally lived in that area. For instance, what did that tribe call warriors?
  2. What a game Cowboys. You had us on the ropes. All I ask is that Romo play that well for the rest of the season because he's my FF QB...
  3. He has a knee injury. I'm not sure at what point in the game he got it. It's amazing how clueless the announcers of the game were as to his condition and why he wasn't playing.
  4. I think Avernus and kingsofromance are both about right. Multiple TD pass-focused offense, hard to predict who'll catch them every week. Most valuable player is Manning, like Brees is with the Saints. I love Julius Thomas (pats self on back for starting him). My biggest worry is his injury history but I wont go so far as to call him injury prone. I think he'll be a top five TE if he stays healthy. /knocks on wood
  5. Thanks guys, good advice. Wise to stand pat though I like to try to stay one week ahead of the waiver wire...
  6. I have Redman but I'm thinking of dumping him for Dwyer or LeShoure. Any thoughts? I don't have much faith in Redman. Sounds like Redman and Dwyer are going to split carries and it wouldn't be surprising if Dwyer wins out. LeShoure is suspended for two games but after that could be huge.
  7. This. If we'd asked Al Davis to intentionally run us into the ground I'm not sure he could have done a better job than McD.
  8. VerNOT Davis. Ugh, I should have known better than to trust the Alex Smith-led SF offense. I feel like I've been here before.
  9. As someone in my league pointed out, apparently the Jax Hail Mary crashed the servers.
  10. And Shanahan has Bobby Turner as his asst coach/RB coach. Turner is the guy who coached the RBs in Denver for all those years.
  11. Could be Wynn, Ivory and PT. Remember last year with Bell, Bush & PT.
  12. I hope the mechanic gets traded to the Redskins because I picked him up off waivers. Why? 1. Decent offense, good QB, less competition at WR. 2. The mechanic reportedly fixed cars with McNabb in the off-season.
  13. Hightower has four fumbles lost according to the stats. I only saw one and it was a bit unfair, looked like it was caused by the ground. But the refs were so used to seeing him fumble they must have assumed he'd done it again.
  14. Yahoo Salary Cap used to be quite fun. This year they've "partnered" with Facebook and the game sucks compared to the previous iterations. But it is free and you can change your roster every week. You can set up leagues but it's not H2H.
