  1. I play in a deep Dynasty League where there are limits as to how many players you can drop or pick up during the season, so take this for what it's worth. This year, the key was to have depth through diversification across teams. In year's past, you could afford to "handcuff" a player in case one of your key starters got injured. In the age of COVID-19, where un-infected players can literally be left on the tarmac due to "close contact" with someone who tested positive, the handcuff strategy was a liability. And, that made me go back and look at previous the previous 20 seasons and the conclusion I came to is that "handcuff" picks are largely wasted picks - in both dynasty and redraft leagues.
  2. I can't help but say this, and I apologize in advance. I only post here every three or four years, but I came across this post about "my Beloved Boys" and I just have to say that the original poster is gay. And, I'm not talking regular gay. I'm talking glory hole, anonymous, whatever comes through the hole kind of gay.
  3. In other news, Jets wide receiver Laverneaus Coles had his name legally changed to "Unnamed Jets Player".
  4. Mangini was terrible. He was in over his head from day one. He couldn't decide what he wanted to be. One minute, he's a strict diciplinarian, the next he's giving guys extra days off. He couldn't motivate a starving person to eat. He is awful at player development. I cannot think of one player on the Jets roster who has gotten better under Mangini. Not one. He makes no in game adjustments whatsoever. I don't think he actually called the plays, but he is ultimately responsible for the poor playcalling. I've had enough of the "earn while you learn" philosophy. No more rookie head coaches - please.
  5. Ravens play at 4pm as well.
  6. The Patriots will not be affected at all.
  7. Don't worry. If the Pats win (which they will), the Jets will lay down like the flea ridden dogs that they are.
  8. In other news....Cleveland Browns defensive end Shaun Smith was seen looking through the Plain Dealer "want ads" today. A potential career as a bouncer at a titty bar appears promising.
  9. In a dynasty league format, I drafted Williams in the first round as a rookie. I kept waiting for him to do something, but he never broke out. He was stuck behind DeShaun Foster of all people! My rule in my dynasty league is I give first round picks three years to pan out - then they're gone. (We have pretty deep rosters, so you can give a guy a couple of years to develop.) I was starting to question Williams, however, so this year I took Jonathan Stewart in the first round, with the idea that he'd replace Williams. I started Stewart, along with a hodge-podge of other RBs (anyone from Julius Jones to Edgerin James to Duece McAllister) the first 4 or 5 weeks. I didn't start playing Williams regularly until week 7 or 8. By the end of the year, I was starting both Williams and Stewart. They carried me to a fantasy league championship. Gotta say, though, at the beginning of the year DeAngelo was closer to the scrap heap than the starting line-up.
  10. Oh. In that case, Jets lose.
  11. By 4;15, the Jets will be out of it. They never lose when they're out of it. They only lose when they're in it. Once the Jets have been eliminated from playoff contention, the Dolphins have no chance.
