In a dynasty league format, I drafted Williams in the first round as a rookie. I kept waiting for him to do something, but he never broke out. He was stuck behind DeShaun Foster of all people! My rule in my dynasty league is I give first round picks three years to pan out - then they're gone. (We have pretty deep rosters, so you can give a guy a couple of years to develop.)
I was starting to question Williams, however, so this year I took Jonathan Stewart in the first round, with the idea that he'd replace Williams.
I started Stewart, along with a hodge-podge of other RBs (anyone from Julius Jones to Edgerin James to Duece McAllister) the first 4 or 5 weeks. I didn't start playing Williams regularly until week 7 or 8.
By the end of the year, I was starting both Williams and Stewart. They carried me to a fantasy league championship.
Gotta say, though, at the beginning of the year DeAngelo was closer to the scrap heap than the starting line-up.
