  1. Thanks for the advice so far.. I'd love to hear some more advice if anyone would like to comment
  2. Ok I am the league commissioner of a league we have had in place for 4 years. The first year was crap as I ran a standard line up. After that year we Moved to the lineup we have now and its really worked out nice. But it has become apparent that we still need to expand. I know a 12 man league is considered IDEAL but we only have 2 committed member's to add and I would rather have a Less than IDEAL league with committed members than the ladder. So Here is my question. Should I change the Starting line up any? Bench Size any or Increase the FA limit? 2QB,2RB,3WR,1TE,1K,1DST 6 bench players plus 1 IR slot Scoring is standard ESPN FA auction with 80$budget. Only allowed 20 Pickups all year 2 Divisions of 4 teams top 6 teams go to playoffs. So Should I still Keep the 2QB? Do I add a flex. No flex has worked well in our league to encourage more trades but willing to add that if it works well in a 10 man league. So any advice from people in 10 man leagues can give me will be much appreciated
  3. Posted in the other thread but I think this thread is more suited for my question. Mods feel free to delete my other thread. Ok I am wanting some advice on moving my league to a Keeper league next season as well as a small expansion. My thought is to get the whole league together and agree on all the rules before the 2015 draft and I would like to institute keeping players from the 2014 season. Is that fine? So here is my league settings now. We have been a league for 4 seasons. 8 Man League(I know I know. too small but we have a close nit group of guys and didn't want to compromise it with 2-4 more ok fantasy people) 2QB,2RB,3WR,1TE,1K,1 DST --- 6 Bench 1 IR We auction draft with 250$ budget Scoring is ESPN Standard FA Auction for waivers- Budget is 80$ for the year. Only 20 Pickups all year. 8 Trades max during the season 2 Divisions of 4 teams. Top 6 teams go to playoffs We play for money and Trophy So I am looking to do 2 things this year 1. Expand the league to 10 teams. So add 2 more members. We already have the members picked out and ready to join. 2. Turn this league into a keeper league. So I have a question about #1. Since we are moving to 10 teams do we keep the same Roster as we had in the 8 man. Or change it? Year 1 we had a standard roster and it sucked. Moving to 2QB ,3 WR and no flex really helped the league be more competitive. But now with 2 more members I am not sure if it needs changed or not? Question about #2 Ok I Have done some research and it seems like keeper leagues can be VERY customizable and everyone has a way they think i best. So I am sure I will get different opinions but I hope to find a consensus. So here is what I have so far for my Keeper League Keepers 1. You may keep 0-3 players each Season(they may be any position and you may keep multiple player from the same position.{ex. RB,RB) 2. Keepers can be kept for a MAX of 3 years(ex.Drafted in 2014, Kept in 2015, Kept in 2016, 2017 re enters draft.) 3. Keepers cost last's year purchase price plus 35%(ex. Andre Ellington was drafted for 21$ last year. To keep him you have to pay 28$[rounded up if .5 or above]) -5$ more for keeper in 2nd year(ex. Andre Ellington 33$), 5$ more the 3rd year(ex. Andre Ellington 38$) 4. All FA(waiver wire pick ups) are 12$ - 2nd year they are 10$ more than purchase price(22$), 3rd year they are 10$ more 32$ 5. Keepers will be announced 2 weeks before the Draft Trades 1. Any players traded can be kept by new owner next season. -Traded Kept player keeper status does not reset with new owner.(Ex. Aaron Rodgers can only be kept 3 years total no matter how many owners he has) - Traded Kept player must follow same price increase for each year kept. 2. Trades CANNOT be made for Auction or FAA $$ 3. All Trades must have a Majority vote to go through(all members not involved in trade vote) Anything you would change or anything I really missed that needs to be added? Weird question. Lets say Tom brady was DRAFTED for 20$ in 2014 but during the season the Owner Dropped him and he was picked up from the waiver wire. Now in the Rules I have it states all Wavier wire pick ups are 12$. If the owner would want to keep Tom Brady do you go off the DRAFTED price even though he wasn't drafted by the team keeping him or does the player go by the FA Price?? So this is the first year ANY of us are doing keepers So I want to stay pretty basic but also want to have some good rules. So please make any comments on anything you would change with what I already have and if you can answer any of the questions I have in red. *Disclaimer the 2 new members will not be able to keep anyone since they didn't have a team in our league last year. They are 100% fine with that but just wanted to inform you* If anyone has come across a fair way to let the new members keep a player even though they weren't in your league the previous year please let me know. But if not they are 100% fine with it* I really don't need comments on this part. More looking to get advice on everything else. Thanks

  5. Its a group of 8 close friends who grew up together. so we want to keep it at 8.
  6. Okay I am redoing my 8 man FF League this year as the last few years it has just been studs vs studs.(1Qb,2Rb,2Wr,1 TE,1 Flex,1 Def, 1 K) So I got some Recommendations and will be upping the roster size. let me know what you think of these 3 options. 2QB,2 RB,3WR,2TE,1 Flex(Wr/Rb/Te),1k, 1 Def – 7 bench 2QB, 2RB,3WR,1Te,1 Flex(Wr/Rb/Te),1k , 1Def -7 bench 2 QB,2RB,3WR,1 TE,1 k,1 Def, - 7 Bench Basically I need to know what your opinion is on TE and Flex. If you think another setup would be better let me know but I think im pretty set on keeping it one of these 3. So any advice is helpful. thanks
  7. Ok so after talking to some league members. they agree we need to make our league more competitive. We are an 8 person league and draft auction style. Right now its just Standard with 16 players 9 starters and 7 bench. 1Qb, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1 Def, 1 K I have gotten a few opinions on the internet and everyone says have 2 QB's For sure.. But my other league members aren't crazy about it. So here is the compromise i came up with. 1 QB, 3 RB, 4WR, 2 TE, 1 Def, 1 K 12 Starters and 10 Bench players for 22 total players. That gives us 176 Players drafted.. Prob still some decent people on waivers. For Waivers we have it set for Auction style where you have 100$ for the year and you blind bid for players on the waiver. Highest bidder wins. We also have only 20 Pick ups a year. Here are my questions. Should I add more bench or starters? If so what would you add(excluding a 2 QB)? Is 20 pick ups a year too many you think or just fine? Thanks for any advice. Hoping to make the league more competitive but still fun
  8. I'm Leaning towards these 3 options. Which do you think is the best. 2 QB, 3 RB, 4 WR,2 TE,1 Def, 1 k 13 Starters 11 bench 2 QB, 3 RB,3 WR, 1 Flex(TE,RB,WR) 1 TE, 1 Def, 1 K, 12 starters 10 bench 1 QB 3 RB, 4 WR, 2 TE , 1 Def, 1 Kicker 12 Startes 12 Bench or is there a even better line up? I want to get to around 180-200 players drafted as to keep the waiver wires free of too many studs. I Wanna make some changes to the league to make it more competitive but I also don't want to make it drastically different as no one in this league is a pro. I'm also thinking of limiting how many people you can pick up during the whole year. Thinking of making is 20 players a year. As we picked up an average of 24 players the last two seasons as a league.. Is 20 still too many? Should I make it smaller? So any more advice would be great
  9. So here is alittle background. This is our 3rd year as a 8 man league(1st year snake, last year auction) . We are just a bunch of friends who all live in the same city. we take it serious but not too serious. All of us have only been doing fantasy football since like 2005 and we just like to have fun with it but all of us like to win. I am the commissioner and just looking to make the league alittle more competitive as I know a typical 8 man league is basically just starting all studs. And while it has been fun the last 3 years just looking to make it better for owners who put in the time. Here are the league rules at this moment. Which is Pretty standard at the moment. 20$ league buy in 100$-1st place 60$-2nd place 8 man auction 200$budget 16 player roster, 9 starters 7 bench 1QB,2RB,2WR,FLEX(RB,WR),TE,K,DEF Waiver wire is auction style with 100$ budget. So what are your suggestions to make it better? Start 2QB? 3 WR? Looking for any and all suggestions to make the league better. And not looking for the response "add more owners" we want to keep it at 8 league owners. So thanks in advance for any advice.
