  1. You know, I was thinking something similar this weekend and then I looked up the past few years and noticed that this actually been an upoward trend the last three year. However, I am sure if we went back the last 5-10 years, we would probably find similar trends. This year definitely has more higher ranking names than in years past. Here are the last 3 years of injuries Week 1/2 combined: 2014 (A number of high ranking players): Dri Archer - Knee/Ankle Steve Smith - Knee Alshon Jeffery - Hamstring Jordan Cameron - Shoulder Ben Tate - Knee Shaun Hill - Thigh Jordan Reed - Hamstring Tyler Eifert - Elbow Antony Dixon - Hamstring Toby Gerhart - Ankle Jadeveon Clowney - Torn Meniscus Doug Martin - Knee Knowshon Moreno - Elbow (out 4-8 weeks) Allen Hurns - Ankle Tavon Austin - Knee Jamaal Charles - Ankle A.J. Green - Ligament strain Robert Griffin III - Dislocated Ankle (may be serious) Lamar Miller - Ankle Roy Helu - Knee DeSean Jackson - Sprained AC joint Marcedes Lewis - High ankle sprain Ryan Mathews - Knee Rod Streater - Hip flexor Vance McDonald - Knee Vernon Davis - Ankle 2013 (A number of high-ranking starters): Jacoby Jones - Bruised MCL Shonn Greene - Sprained knee Jamaal Charles - Quad bruise Blaine Gabbert - Lacerated hand Reggie Bush - Thumb dislocation Dwayne Allen - Hip injury Zach Sudfeld - Fractured hype Marquise Goodwin - Hand injury La 'Rod Stephens-Howling - Torn ACL - gone for the year Vick Ballard - Knee (IR) Brandon Weeden - Thumb Ray Rice - Hip Flexor Darrius Heyward-Bey - Ribs Malcom Floyd - Neck Steven Jackson - Thigh Eddie Lacy - Concussion Andre Johnson - Possible concussion Hakeem Nicks - Dislocated finger Reggie Bush - Knee Maurice Jones-Drew - Ankle Larry Fitzgerald - Leg Vernon Davis - Hamstring Brent Celek - Shoulder Martellus Bennett - Shoulder 2012 (Some heavy hitters in Week 2, but not too bad): Daniel Thomas - Concussion Fred Jackson - Sprained knee Jake Locker - Sprained shoulder Rashad Jennings - Leg injury John Skelton - Knee sprain Pierre Garcon - Foot injury Nate Washington - Unspecified injury Matt Forte - High Ankle Sprain Kevin Boss - Head Injury Aaron Hernandez - Ankle Sprain Shonn Greene - Head Injury Steven Jackson - Quad or benched. Flip a coin 'cause no one agrees. Ahmad Bradshaw - Neck Injury Jeremy Maclin - Hip Pointer Re-aggravated Eddie Royal - Shoulder injury
  2. Hello Fellow Huddlers! Welcome back to another year of Fantasy Football!!! Feels like it has been an eternity! I have commissioned many redraft leagues and my league has voted to create a new league, but this league will be a Dynasty League. I am totally for it and love the idea of a Dynasty League but I do have some roster and rule questions. My question are two-fold: 1. Roster: Can any of you give suggestions on how many roster spots and what position requirements are good for a Dynasty League? My Team Owners don't want IDPs I was thinking something like 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 2OffFlex, 1TE, 1K, 1TeamDef. Should I modify that or is that pretty standard? What I keep reading is that a 30 roster spot per team is pretty standard. You agree or think it should be less/more? 2. Rule Changes: I am thinking of duplicating rules from one of our PPR Keeper Redraft Leagues. Is there any rules that are normally in standard Redraft Leagues that I should leave out, modify or add to a Dynasty League? I know that is loaded without knowing our current rules. I guess the question would be what rules are typically different from a standard Keeper League to a standard Dynasty League (obviously other than the amount of players that can be kept)? Keep PPR? Allow a certain percentage of the team to be kept (only 50% or 75% or 100%)? Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Lost
  3. Great stuff so fair. Thanks to all. The loser is one of my best friends and I am the Commish of the league. He was always a big Flutie fan, so I was thinking of playing off that a little, but he is a San Diego Super Chargers fan at heart. He talked a lot of sheet the entire week and ended up getting the lowest score and I got the highest. I am not sure there are many teams he doesn't like, but I am huge Bears fan, so that is another avenue to stroll down. I could pick the obvious ones like "Erectile Disfunction" since he couldn't finish, but I was hoping for something more original. I thought about that, but couldn't come up with anything painful enough. Keep em coming!
  4. So, like always, bad karma strikes again... ...for a team owner in my league that talked plenty of smack prior to my team crushing him 168.05-96.75 (Didn't hurt that I had Martin)! I tried to make a monetary bet with him, but he denied that. However, I was able to make a Team Name bet, where the winner renames the losers team for a week. Now.....I need suggestions on a new team name for him. I have my own brewing, but since I know how my fellow Huddlers have a way with words, I would love to hear suggestions. Drop me a suggestion, and then get out and vote! Thanks in advance!
  5. Best way I have seen to do this is from the draft screen. On the top left select "View" and from "Cheatsheet Stat" section, select "ADP Round Pick."
  6. I second that. The staff is really good over there and the program is even better. Been using it for my personal rankings/drafting and for the draft board for our yearly live draft for a number of years now. Very easy to use and worth the small price. Merv and Tabitha have been very easy to contact and work through issues (haven't had many issues with the program itself, just issues to set up odd rules from one of my leagues). They are always looking for the next big feature to add and listen to users suggestions.
  7. The answer to this question is simple: "Anyone I place on my bench!" Still peeving about McGahee and Marshall getting 29 and 26 points respectively last week.....on my bench! This is the year of Mistaken Identity Syndrome (MIS) in Fantasy....Studs and Duds switching roles at unusual times! Might as well add Ingram, M Williams, and Pettigrew to the list of under-achievers!
  8. This being my first year that any of my leagues are using a blind bidding waiver system, I am completely lost (no pun intended) on average bids. I am assuming you have been using blind bidding for a bit in your leagues and have some insight, and from your response, it looks like for highly sought after pick-ups owners spend around 50% on average of their cap and for less sought after players, they may spend about 15%? I know this is tough to answer since there are probably some outragious (unusual bets) bids and not all bidding is the same, but I really need a starting point. I really can't imagine spending so much on a pick-up in the first round, but if the player is worth it, it might not be a bad idea. I don't see any significant total game changers this week, but with the injury bug snatching so many victims so far, a pick-up or 2 may be a necessity. I am assuming that after week 1, bids typically come back down to earth after everyone has tested the waters so to speak? Anyone have some additional insight on this? Thanks in advance!
  9. +1 However, having Freeman, Williams, and Blount did help me win a championship last year, but I didn't draft any of them; I picked them up in free agency.
  10. You da man TS! Thanks for picking up the slack man! Didn't know if you would make it this year.
  11. We used this one last year and plan to use it again this year: http://www.rpglibrary.org/software/securedice/index.php
  12. Truthfully, I am really high on Tolbert and I might think about inserting him in place of Nicks. The biggest problem with Nicks is that he is going against a tough Philly D. Don't get me wrong, as he could light it up, but there is some risk. I would give the slight edge to Tolbert as he has the better matchup. I am actually benching Manningham for Tolbert this week...I think. I would ask you to respond to mine, but we are both kind of in the same boat.
  13. Williams for sure and I would probably roll with Nicks slightly over Floyd. I really think San Diego will focus on their running game going against the worst run D, but if Denver gets a quick lead, San Diego might need to play catch up and take to the air. On the other hand, Nicks goes against a tough Philly D, but he should find he endzone and get serviceable yardage. He has been very effective. Bench Floyd.
  14. If your Superbowl is in Week 16, I wouldn't do it. Minnesota plays Chicago in Week 15 and Philly in Week 16, both tough Defenses. Miami plays Buffalo and Detroit respectively. Miami will find their spark...at least they better if they don't want to be embarrassed again.
