  1. Just thinking a bit outside of the box here, do you think the coaching strategies on the defensive side emphasized "stripping" the ball circa 2000 (I'm sure its always been taught, but just a little more at that time), and it's taken the offensive coaching a couple of years to catch up to counter the defense? The numbers just seem too far out of whack. I also like the post pointing out instant replay and possibly reversing a percentage of incorrect fumbles. There's my $.02 worth
  2. Not really sure. refresh rate wasn't a big selling point when I bought mine last year. It does seem that fps, and Hz are big selling points for computer game monitors. I don't remember a sales person even refer to refresh rate to be honest.
  3. I said yes because the simple foresight of Kurt Cobain to put out a sound that has withstood around 15 years of music evolution. I mean, the sound is still very much holding its own today. I don't they they will ever be nominated though. They wouldn't have any room for Madonna and Dave Clark Five if they did.
  4. I'm far from an expert, but I did a fair share of research when I bought mine last year. From what I understand, every TV has 2 categories of contrast ratio. I think 1 category is for still images, and the other is for motion picture. Some TV's will give you both, but you will find that many manufacturers only give you the higher number. (apparently for marketing purpose.. the higher the better). The high contrast ratio will give you the crisp looking picture. I was told that a contrast ratio of around 5,000 will get you the picture that you need. I have a Sony Bravia 46" LCD. on the box it says contrast ratio's are 3,000:1 and 30,000:1. I questioned why the second number was so high. The answer I was given was that the new TV's have some built in features that transitions from dark pictures to light pictures. I was also told that a high contrast ratio will make your picture look very crisp in zero light conditions. However when any light is present, the contrast ratio importance lessens. As far as refresh rates go. I really didn't shop around for refresh rates. I was more concerned with resolution, and contrast ratio. But my TV has a refresh rate of 120Hz. I did a quick google and it looks like the millisecond figures are directly related to the Hertz figures. I think 120Hz are pretty much standard these days. Anyway, my TV handles HD football without any blurriness. I do have problems with my cable provider with the picture freezing every now and again, but the TV does what it's supposed to do. I would suggest not to worry so much about the numbers, and actually watch the TV's at the store. Don't only watch the displays that are playing the BlueRay's though, you want to see how they handle HD cable as well. Hope this helps....
  5. yeah, he is crazy. He's on Stern's channel every weeknight. He is really big into Hockey, but touches on just about every sport out there.
  6. Another one for the Sirius people.. Scott Ferrall on 101 8pm to 11pm I think. He talks about himself alot, but he says alot of funny stuff too.
  7. I may be mis-interpreting what you are trying to do. But you can insert a pic into an excel spreadsheet by doing : Insert>Picture>From File...
  8. words can not explain how many well wishes you and yoru family deserve. That being said, been playing in a dynasty league for6 years, but no experience with IDP. All the best for you and yours..
  9. As a Dolphins fan, I don't really see anything incorrect in Porter's statement. With Porter stating that Cassel is not Brady is simply a ploy to motivate his fellow teammates to come out on defense confidently. Honestly what is there to lose?
  10. I'd say that dollar amount is a little high, especially since those who had Brady have a good chance at waiver claims this week. Picking up Cassell should help them out at least a little bit.
  11. Miami seems to always win a bunch of games in a row late in the season just to screw up their draft pick.
  12. Because my wife and daughter are complete Disney freaks, I've been down there 5 times in the past 5 years and are heading back in May. We've been down there in May, June, Oct. and Nov. Do not go in June...EVER! Oct. was nice, but you can plan on a T-storm pretty much every day. Our first time was in Nov. so I don't remember much about it, so it must have been fine. May is our favorite time to go. You get the summer park hours, the heat isn't too bad and the crowds are not our of control. We stay on resort every time. No matter if you go with a Value or a Deluxe, those places are very clean. I think you stay at the values for around a 100 a night. We also rent a towncar from the airport, and if you tell them, they will stop at a grocery store so you can pick up some snacks and booze. Disney booze is not cheap. Park Hopper is the only way to go. We usually head back to the room for lunch and hit the pool then head back out the parks afterwards. Gotta use the fast pass. I usually go get them when my wife rides with my daughter. If you are staying onsite, take advantage of the extra magic hours. All of the parks have them, but they have specific schedules that you will need to figure out.
  13. I bought/received the radio just because of Stern. I'm sure there are a couple more people across the US that did as well. Stores haven't been able to keep the Sirius units on the shelves. So that tells me that people are buying them. Stern is well worth the money for Sirius because it is driving the sub base up, and he is making headlines which he is notorious for doing. Ican't count how many magazines that have had him on the front page in the past month or so. As for who wins Oprah vs Stern. I think Stern has the listening audience that are more apt to plunking down $50 - $100 on a unit and the $13 a month because most of his listeners are guys. Most women I know are very thrifty with their money and wouldn't dare spending money just to hear radio. It goes without saying that Oprah will be tageting the female audience. Also as someone previously said, Oprah will only be on air, I've heard, for a half hour every other week. NASCAR is moving to Sirius in 2007 and Sirius also has March Madness which I think will draw some more people in.
  14. Sirius Stern really is the same as he has always been. The main difference now is that he doesn't have to skate around topics of conversation that were unfit for radio before. The uncensored bits are alot funnier than the radio versions. He's been remaking all of his K-Rock bits for Sirius since K-Rock would not release them to him. Personally I would rather him concentrate on new bits, but that's just me.
