  1. Thank you! We use MFL and I've been playing around in the Auction Draft Room. It's not as flexible as I'd like but should do for our purposes.
  2. Hello! Been running my local league for the past 15 years and would like to inject a little freshness into the proceedings. I have never run nor participated in an auction draft but the more I read about them the more I want to try. I think I get the basics but have some questions about how others have handled various situations. Would appreciate any thoughts/advice from all you Huddlers! 1. Most of us are local and would be in the room together, however, one guy lives in China and another in North Carolina. So - how would you handle those who are "live" but not there in person? 2. I may have a person who can't be there in person or online. What would you do in that situation? 3. Is it too much to try to be the commissioner and auctioneer? Better to have someone outside the league serve as auctioneer? 4. Any other tips/tricks you've picked up? Interested to hear about how others are doing it overall. Thank you!
  3. I'm late to comment here but just want to say, Kevin, that you have always been my favorite and a primary reason I subscribe to The Huddle. You say that you were "rough as pumice" to start but I beg to differ. You rocked, IMHO, from the get go - I remember when you were just posting here on the Forum and I thought it was hilarious. Anyway, certainly understand that you have other obligations besides <gasp> football. I hope that you will be able to at least contribute from time to time and maybe, eventually, come back full time.
  4. God, that guy is KILLIN' me! I'm gonna add him to my list too! And Romo. Going into last night I was ahead by 8 points. I had VJax and my opponent had Nick Novak. I lose by two points.
  5. Exactly my point! And why is Garcon for Maclin more even? That seems totally arbitrary to me. In the original trade (Mike Williams for Maclin) maybe the Maclin owner is wary of Maclin's pre-season headaches and thinks he's run his course. Maybe he has a hunch about Mike Williams...who knows? Why not let people run their teams and have some fun speculating?
  6. I dropped him after the Week 3 turd he left against Jacksonville and haven't looked back. Ok...maybe I did look back when he had the big game against the Saints a couple weeks later...but after that....no looking back!!!
  7. Seems decent to me...You hate to give up Cam and all his points but you are getting a STUD RB in McCoy which will be a nice pairing with Rice. And, you are getting a decent/top 10 QB with Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick's already had his bye too and he has Denver and Miami to face during Fantasy playoffs. Could be good...
  8. Or - who put on the "Scariest" performance and caused you to lose? My WR's were pretty horrorific this week: Jabar Gaffney Demaryius Thomas Jeremy Maclin (not so scary) With SPOOKY support from Brandon Jacobs and Dan Bailey AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
  9. What does the rest of your team look like?
  10. I agree! I am commish in two of my three leagues and I never deny a trade or have any vetoing. First off, I don't play with people I don't trust. So, with that principle, I have never felt the need to put restrictions in place on trades and, to date, have never had a problem. Now, do people bitch sometimes about a trade? Yes, sometimes there is grumbling on the message board but it's more to do with their PERCEPTION of what is or isn't a fair trade. But how do you ever really know what's fair and what isn't until after the season is over? You don't. That's why I think it is silly to presume that trading player A for player B isn't fair or that someone is stupid for making that trade. You never know what will happen. I traded Jahvid Best to someone after his big game against Chicago. Then, BLAM, concussion. I didn't know that was going to happen. I just needed an upgrade at QB and Best was getting all these points on my bench because I have the luxury of having A. Foster and Fred Jackson. Last year, I traded Reggie Wayne for Michael Vick in Week 2. I had Kevin Kolb as my main QB and Vick was just the back up at that point but since Kolb got hurt in the first game, I wanted the depth. I thought I was probably making a bad move giving up a top WR for a back up QB (I expected Kolb to come back at some point) but guess what??? And I'll bet, in some league that would have been vetoed or ruled against or whatever...Why? Because, Reggie Wayne is a "stud" and Vick is just a back up - what a stupid trade! That's so unfair to the Kolb/Wayne owner (me). Yep! Pretty stupid!!
  11. Maybe he's a huge UT fan/supporter...?? I hope you made that trade!
  12. I'm starting him in two leagues. In one, I have Vick and Manning on bye In the other, I am starting him over Matt Schaub. We shall see...
  13. Already hosed in two leagues - had to play against A. Bradshaw in both. For my local league I "only" need 18 points or more from Shonn Greene..... so likely to be 0 for 3 this week...
  14. He couldn't have picked a better time to come back as I played the Rodgers owner this week!! And won by 6 points!
