Also, this is NON PPR. Go with Standard scoring ESPN. -
We completed our 12 team IDP live draft yesterday afternoon and in the 5 years I've been in the league, this is the first time I've come out feeling good about my team. We've got two brand new guys (One new to football all-together) but outside of that these are guys that have been playing fantasy football longer than I've been alive, so I feel accomplished with this draft class. Give me some honest opinions whether it's good thoughts, or some spots that are a worry for my team. Starters: QB: Matt Ryan RB: Jamaal Charles RB: Jeremy Hill WR: A.J. Green WR: Brandin Cooks TE: Delanie Walker FLEX: Giovani Bernard DL: Ezekiel Ansah DL: Charles Johnson LB: Lavonte David LB: Bobby Wagner LB: Vontaze Burfict (+) DB: Trae Waynes DB: Harrison Smith DB: Rashad Johnson K: Matt Bryant BENCH: RB Knile Davis | RB Danny Woodhead | QB Jameis Winston | WR Jarvis Landry | WR Vincent Jackson | WR Devin Funchess I never really keep defensive players on my bench, usually by the time bye weeks roll forth, I've already weeded some players in and out to fit a few needs.

I'm 1-1 right now. It's a very deep league, so there isn't much help remaining out there on the waiver wire. I would love to wait, but can I really afford to do that with the running backs I have on my roster? I'm not sure I will be getting the points I need. The best FA running backs available right now in this order: Isaiah Crowell, Darrell Young, Antone Smith, Robert Turbin, Shonn Greene As you see, slim pickings, and no one that will be particularly consistent, even Greene. If it helps, the rest of my roster: http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/clubhouse?leagueId=29023&teamId=12&seasonId=2014 Can you guys see that? We play IDP as well, but that's none my concern right now.

I am, unfortunately, the owner of Jamaal Charles. I wasn't in position to get Knile Davis or any of the other hot commodities on the waiver wire. There's literally no one left on the waivers at this point at the running back position in my league. I was offered this trade earlier today: Keenan Allen, Knile Davis and Chris Ivory for Brandon Marshall and Fred Jackson Should I take this trade? Or do I try and weather the Charles problem? Marshall is one hell of a player and he's easily in the top 5 receivers for this year IMO, but I have depth at receiver big time and not so much at running back. Below is my RB/WR roster: RB: Jamaal Charles, Fred Jackson, Jeremy Hill, Andre Ellington WR: Brandon Marshall, Antonio Brown, Michael Floyd, Michael Crabtree, Kendall Wright, Brandin Cooks, Justin Hunter My draft strategy was RB | WR | WR ---- so Charles injury really screwed up my team IMO. I'm solid every where else but RB.

Just curious on who I should start in this scenario at my flex position. The scoring for RB and WR position is basically exactly the same, goes as follows: Every 5 yards (REC or Rush): 0.3 Touchdown: 4 Every 10 Attempts/Receptions: 0.5 50+ Yard TD Bonus: 1 2pt Conversion: 1 Michael Crabtree will be playing a Dallas defense that is projected to be one of the worst in the league right now. My take on Crabtree at this point is that while many are coining him as a WR3 because of the talent in the receiving core in SF, and the fact that it's a run first team. I can't look through how much Kaepernick has leaned on Crabtree when he has played. Even though he didn't produce the stats coming back from his Achilles injury last season, he was still targeted - I think 5 or more targets in every game he played (Except his return) Fred Jackson will be playing against what was a porous Chicago run defense last season. My take on Jackson is that he was a top 12 fantasy back in my league last season. Playing him in the flex is a huge plus IMO. While he's not listed at #1 on the depth chart, he received double digit carries in all but like 6 games last season. He's also in line to receive majority of the red zone carries for the Bills. Jackson is Manuel's favorite check down target to this point. Who should I take in the flex, and any analysis on why will surely help. Obviously I have a pretty solid opinion about both these guys, but it hasn't eased my decision at all. Help me out fellas! Thanks!

It's a 10 man league. Not PPR. I feel like I've got alright depth for running back. Fred Jackson was the 9th best running back in our league last year. Jeremy Hill will see goal line carries in Cincinnati, I plan on alternating him and Cooks in my rookie spot. I think my plan going forward is to try and see what I can get for either Crabtree or Floyd. I may be able to score a low tier RB2 or a high RB3 out of one of them to a receiver needy team. Kniles Davis has literally no value in our league. Generally speaking, these guys don't really put stock into "hand-cuffs". When the player actually gets injured, then people have a dash for them. The way I see it though, I'm not going to take up a roster spot for Davis at this point. If Charles goes down, I'm not going to replace that production anyway.

This is the team I drafted in my $140 entry league. It's a tough league that my fiancees father has run for about 30 years now. It was also my first "live draft" league a few years ago, and they kicked my rear end. Never before did I realize how difficult a live draft was when there were no computers allowed in the draft war room at his house. I feel like I have a pretty solid hold of it now, no pressure! Plus, I'm not the "new guy" anymore, which makes it a little more easy. I felt pretty confident coming home from my fantasy draft. Not only did I feel like my team was solid and strong, but I feel like I also drew a pretty weak division. I'm hoping this team should have me sitting pretty for the first round bye into the playoffs. Obviously without seeing the other teams, you guys can't base anything off that, but that's where I'm at! Also, I picked #2 overall after a LOUSY fantasy year. There are some decent players left on the wire right now, no one really too consistent, but guys who could break-out or be splash contributors here and there. I can't really see myself letting anyone on my team go just yet though. Thinking I should wait until week 1. Here's my roster: QB: Matt Ryan RB: Jamaal Charles RB: Andre Ellington WR: Brandon Marshall WR: Antonio Brown FLEX: Fred Jackson TE: Jordan Cameron Rookie: Brandon Cooks LB: Bobby Wagner LB: Paul Worrilow LB: Alec Ogletree DL: Robert Quinn DL: Muhammad Wilkerson DB: Eric Berry DB: Tashaun Gipson DB: Mark Barron Rookie: Calvin Pryor K: Shaun Suisham BENCH: WR Michael Floyd WR Michael Crabtree WR Kendall Wright QB Andy Dalton RB Jeremy Hill RB Lamar Miller WR Justin Hunter NOTES: - Our rookie spots (Offensive and defensive) only count if they score more points than another player on the starting roster at THEIR position (Can Not Replace the FLEX score). If that's the case, the higher score counts, the lower score is removed. So if Cooks scores 10 points week 1, and Brown scores 5, the 5 points would be removed and I would score 10 points at my WR position. Hopefully that makes sense. Same goes on defense. - I feel like I'm loaded at WR. If there are guys that I could pick up or drop, it would probably be there. - I typically have always played defense week by week for most part (Outside of the top scorers), tackle heavy linebackers and safeties are always pretty easy to come by. - I wasn't hot on Andre Ellington like everyone else, but I took him in the beginning of the 4th, felt like it was great value. - Both Matt Ryan and Andy Dalton were taken after the 11th round. Notable Free Agents: QB Alex Smith, RB LeGarrette Blount, WR Marvin Jones, DL Charles Johnson, LB Derrick Johnson, LB Mason Foster

No way. Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller are both border-line studs at running back. Spiller had a fantastic year last season considering he played from week 4 on with a high ankle sprain. Fred Jackson was a top 10 back if I'm not mistaken, and even with his age, he's still worth a flex play. Also have to believe that Sammy Watkins is going hit on something. He may not set the world on fire, but he could be solid.

Go with Bell here. I preach this non-stop but I'll continue, while Bernard is a home run threat and he's going to receive the bulk of the work load in Cincinnati, people are forgetting about the Bengals 2nd round pick Jeremy HIll. That's a pretty penny for a back when you believe in the talents of your current back (Bernard). Hill is definitely going to play a role this year, he's going to steal a lot of red zone touches from Bernard that could potentially hurt his totals this coming season. Bell on the other hand is going to keep a lot of those red zone carries. Sure, Blount is definitely lurking, but I believe everything the Steelers have said, Blount is there to keep Bell fresh. Bell is going to be the work-horse, and he's going to see more carries in the red zone.

Keeper Help, A. Brown, Bernard, Ellington, Gordon? Pick 2
Grits replied to JPLossmans's topic in Fantasy Football Advice
Brown and Bernard, without a doubt at all. Break it down as this: Antonio Brown was a top 10 fantasy receiver last year, a year where the Steelers actually struggled a bit. No one has come in to Pittsburgh in the receiving group that is going to threaten that production he had. He is still Roethlisbergers favorite target. Not only is he a huge home run threat, but he has great hands. You are getting a late 2nd, early 3rd round pick by keeping him. I think you're getting him after his ADP. I look at it as a small steal for you. Gio Bernard is a wild-card at this point for me. Of course he is a great talent, and he's got that Charles-like home run ability every time he touches the ball. The entrance of Jeremy Hill though scares me off a little, using a 6th though is an absolute steal. The Bengals spent a bit for Hill in the draft, I expect him to be an absolute red zone vulture this coming season. It could really hurt Bernards output, but as I said, for a 6th, that's another steal. You're only at the point of deciding keepers and you've got two potential studs, you're in great shape!- 6 replies

The Raiders are certainly close for me. Not sure you can quite eliminate any entire offense though. Especially before we know the outcome of the finished products heading into most of our drafts. I mean, there's always a chance with even the Raiders that a guy like Jones-Drew excels with new scenery. Heck, I wouldn't bet on it, but there's also the chance of McFadden staying healthy for a longer stretch this season. Who knows. Definitely not the Browns though. Got to love Jordan Cameron this year. There is a chance that Miles Austin, if he can stay healthy, could provide for a great flex player or bye week fill in. Don't forget about Ben Tates great potential. I will say one thing, I don't see myself (barring catastrophe) drafting or even really considering any Miami Dolphins. Their offense as a whole seems pretty flat. You've got a home run threat in Mike Wallace if he and Tannehill are on the same page, but you can't be too optimistic about that situation. Tannehill isn't to the point where I believe he's even a solid #2 QB in a 12 team league yet. Too inconsistent. As I said though, we don't know the finished product yet on any of these offenses. There are a lot of teams with new coaches and coordinators that may just make magic happen.
