  1. Hello Fantasy Football Universe. A group of friends and I had a very interesting idea for setting up a new type of Fantasy Football League. We are looking for the ability to change the scoring settings every week. The idea is: "The team with the lowest score every week gets to choose the scoring settings for the next week." Mind blowing, I know! Give it a second to think of the possibilities and amount of strategy needed throughout the season! To walk through an example: Week 1 we use standard scoring and I end up having the least amount of points. In week 2 I get to decide what the scoring settings are. So let's say I have an amazing QB but bad RBs, I could set every passing TD to be worth 20 points and each 10 rushing yards be worth 0.5 points. Thinking this through, things could get very strategic. As the season gets closer to playoff time, you'll need to start reviewing how this scoring model will affect the other teams in the league. Let's say both you and another player are very close to the last playoff spot, you would have to look at their best players to understand the scoring options that would most hurt their team in conjunction with helping yours... Teams might start losing on purpose to get the "power" to control the scoring settings, etc. So, now come the things we're worried about, which means additional rules: - Teams cannot intentionally bench all their players or intentionally start injured players to get the lowest score for the week. If they do, then their lowest score will be disqualified by the commish. - Once we get to the playoffs, we would have to switch back to a standard & locked scoring system, which is agreed to before the season starts. - Even though teams can control the scoring settings, limits will need to be set. We can't have a fumble recovery be worth 3000 points. (We're planning on happy hour next week to define our max and min values allowed for every setting). - We're also trying to figure out how many bench players are allowed. We're thinking a small number is best to allow for good waiver wire options/depth once scoring settings are changed every week. - I'm sure we'll think of some more... Finally, the thing we're not sure of is: Where to host this type of league!! I sent a message to Yahoo directly about this idea. I'm a little worried that Yahoo will not allow changing the scores from one week to the next, and even if the system does, we need to make sure that the changes to not edit/change/update previous week's scores. Anyway, that's all I had. Let me know your thoughts on this idea! Anything from additional rules to think about, strategies that would be cool to try out with this method, Fantasy Football providers that could handle this weird setup, etc. Thanks for reading!
  2. Curious about what people think of these two guys. I currently have both of them, with Jamal Charles and Forte. I'm looking to unload one of them for a WR. Possibly someone like Steve Smith Sr. So taking my trade out of the equation, what does everyone think of these two? Ben Tate: Currently hurt but should be back next week sharing carries. Any thoughts on this guy winning his 'every down back' role again? Donald Brown: Starting RB in SD now with Mathews and Woodhead out. Sounds like he's only going to be the starter until Mathews comes back, which is about a month away. I'm thinking of keeping him this week against the Jags, hope that he does great, and trade him on a high point. Or do people feel Mathews is going to be out for so long that Donald will continue to stay in the rotation? Thanks for the thoughts everyone.
  3. Hey everyone. I need some help thinking through this one as it's a pretty big trade. Here is my current team (non-PPR). QB: Andy Dalton, Jake Locker RB: Matt Forte, Jamaal Charles, Donald Brown, Knile Davis, Ben Tate WR: Vincent Jackson, Mike Wallace, Golden Tate, Brandin Cooks, Marques Colston TE: Niles Paul, Larry Donnell As you can see, I'm currently 0-3 on the season. So here is the trade proposal: Receiving in the trade: QB: Kirk Cousins WR: Demaryius Thomas RB: Shane Vereen Giving up: QB: Andy Dalton WR: Brandin Cooks RB: Matt Forte or Jamaal Charles So obviously I'm taking a pretty big hit at the RB level, but I do have a little room to play in the RB field due to my RB bench. My WRs or horrible and my QBs are pretty weak. Should I make this trade (I'm leaning toward giving up Forte)? Additionally, he has Jay Cutler. Seeing how D Thomas is doing so bad I might be able to get Cutler instead of Cousins. Or should I just ride it out right now and hope that my WRs wake up? Maybe VJax will get better with his new QB? Lot of moving parts here. Thanks for any help you can provide. And I'd be happy to give my advice on any questions you might have. Just put a link to your question into your response below. Thanks again!
  4. I'd say you do it. You can't start all of those RBs. If I were you, I'd try to get another WR or TE from him. This is a great time to buy low on D Thomas, and you're giving him two starters (once Martin comes back obviously). If you really don't think you'll be able to get more, then I'd say yes. Boost your WR core and make your decision making process on which RB to start each week easier.
  5. So here's the trade proposal: I get: Andy Dalton & Matt Forte I give up: Jordy Nelson & Reggie Wayne & Chris Johnson I think this is pretty much a no brainer for me. I'm stacked at WR so can give up a few guys, and I really need a new QB with RG3 stinking it up. Jordy is a pretty big hit, but I think it's worth it to get Forte. Any thing I might be overlooking here? I think I need to do this. Non - PPR Here is my current team: QB: RG3 WR: Jordy Nelson / Vincent Jackson / Marques Colston / Reggie Wayne / Mike Wallace (Mia) / Golden Tate / Brandin Cooks RB: Jamal Charles / Chris Johnson / Trent Richardson / Bishop Sankey TE: L. Donnell
  6. Hey there, any advice you can give I'd really appreciate! I can start two of these four WRs, having trouble deciding on which two: Vincent Jackson vs Car Marques Colston @ Atl Reggie Wayne @ Den Golden Tate vs NYG I'm leaning toward Tate and Colston, because NO/Atlanta should be a shootout and Tate is playing against the NYG which hasn't historically had a great D. Thoughts?
