  1. I was dead wrong about Graham. I really believed he was in store for a 10 TD season. After all, if Russell Wilson could net him 10 TDs, surely Rodgers would get him at least 10, and maybe even 12 or 13 right? Zach Ertz was still sitting there when I drafted Jimmy. By comparison, Ertz has 146 points in my league to Jimmy's 74 points. That is a deficit of 72 points. I've lost several matches this year by 5 points or less. If I would have drafted Ertz over Graham, I'd have a winning record this year. Let this be a lesson to future homers out there. NEVER draft a player just because you want him on your home team. I knew it was a homer move and I did it anyways.
  2. It seems a little slanted towards team 2, but it's not worthy of a veto. Vetos are bad. Very bad. The only time you want to veto a trade is when it's absolutely clear someone is tanking their season and intentionally trying to give someone else a clear advantage over the rest of the league. Every manager (especially in money leagues) is entitled to make dumb decisions. It's not for the other managers to decide that a trade offer should be blocked just because they think it's a bad trade- because that axe swings both ways- and what goes around will come around. A dumb manager is not the same thing as a malicious manager & that is the key difference when deciding. If there is even the slightest chance the manager is making a poor decision rather than a malicious decision, you MUST give that manager the benefit of doubt. Blocking trades and trade veto's will not only dissuade future trade offers within the league, but it will create angry/bitter managers looking to get even. So you must be 100% sure of malicious intent before you block a trade.
  3. I'm actually starting him in my 12 team league over Doug Baldwin today. My team sucks this year because I drafted David Johnson, Leonard Fournette, Doug Baldwin & Alen Robinson (in that order). So I'm 1-6. Worst fantasy record I've ever started the season with in over 20 years of doing this. But I digress. I figure at this point I might as well swing for the fences.
  4. I'm not sure why everyone thinks Doug Martin is purely an early down RB. He has proven more than capable of catching the ball. In fact, during his two most productive seasons he logged several catches. 2012- 1,454 rushing yards, 49 receptions, 472 receiving yards, 12 total TDs 2015- 1,402 rushing yards, 33 receptions, 271 receiving yards, 7 total TDs He's only in his 7th season, so while it feels like he's been around forever, he's still fairly young (29). I'm not saying he's going to have some kind of break-out performance, I'm only saying I wouldn't be so quick to blow him off. He's proven to be very good at both running and catching the ball when motivated and the Raiders offensive line has been opening holes to run through. Everyone is assuming he will only be getting early down work, but there are really no grounds for that assumption that I can see, so I'm just curious why everyone thinks they will be afraid to pass him the ball.
  5. It's funny you say that. I've been using that comparison myself, telling people he's like a poor man's CM. It seems to be that PL has just as much power/speed as CM, but what he lacks is vision. I've seen him literally run around a hole rather than through it. I play a .5 PPR league and I've gotten to the point where I start him in my flex every week. It just feels like this guy is only one missed tackle away from taking it to the house every time he touches the ball.
  6. I traded him to the Yeldon owner for Diggs. It isn't exactly an ideal trade, but I am 1-3 as a direct result of Fornette and I need a play maker that can actually make plays. It might be another 3-4 weeks before Fornette is the monster he has the potential to be, but that is no good to a team that is 2-6
  7. He's worth a flyer if you want to be ahead of the curve. Miller hasn't exactly been lighting it up, and Blue is pedestrian at best. I picked him up this morning and put him in my IR slot. In regards to latest news, there doesn't seem to be any. I scoured the internet lastnight and couldn't find any recent updates other than a few analysts recommending him as a stash.
  8. I can tell you this, if Mike Evans doesn't develop chemistry with (insert TB QB here) this year, he better look out because Chris Godwin is gonna be the shiny new toy in Tampa. There is just something about that kid. He's got a knack for coming down with the ball. He reminds me of another receiver who came out of nowhere called Antonio Brown. Godwin is going to quickly supplant D-Jax as the #2 and my bold prediction is that he will finish the year with as many or more targets than Evans.
  9. You can actually edit his roster as commissioner in Yahoo. It's under settings/manage other teams. So you should be able to restore all the players he dropped and put the kickers back on the waiver wire. I'm not positive because I've never actually had to do it and it's a very drastic move that should only be done in situations like this. Main thing is to get all those stud players back on his roster where they belong so that whoever is in the playoffs in that league can't get their hands on them. This person pulled a dick move because he/she is pouty about losing. Free or not, there is no reason to let this fool ruin the league for other people that want to enjoy it, so as commissioner you are well within your rights to address it. Once you put those players back on his/her roster, then you can "lock" their team to prevent them from making any further moves. That is also under settings/manage other teams. The only drawback is that the kickers will still have to remain on waivers. Also, be sure to kick this person from your league if you intend to keep it active next year. Someone that does this kind of thing will be nothing but a drama queen and a pain in your ass. Trust me on this.
  10. I've been playing FF for around 20 years now I guess. I've taken a year off here and there. Every time I do take a year off, I miss it intensely and find myself eager to get back in it. It can be super frustrating at times. Especially when things happen that are out of your control like injuries to key players. But at the end of the day, you just have to remind yourself that you can only do so much. It's at least 50% luck. All you can do is put yourself in a position to succeed and hope for the best. I watch a lot of shows and listen to a lot of podcasts, and every once in a while you will hear a so-called expert admit they had a losing season. They don't admit it very often because they want their audience to think they always win. But they don't. Far from it. The reality is that no matter how good you think you are at FF, it still comes down to a certain % of dumb luck. And you have no control over it. Take a year off if need be, but If it's in your blood you will be back
  11. As a Packer Fan I can tell you that I would be hesitant. But I would still start him. A.R thrives when he has a chip on his shoulder (no pun intended). He literally gets off on it. Whenever people doubt him is when he has his best games. I know it's cliche, but it's true. Would I be surprised if he came out and looked like a weak-armed recovering QB that struggled? No Would I be surprised if he came out and tossed 4TDs and 400 yards? No It's worth noting that he has been throwing the ball around for several weeks. The only reason he didn't start sooner (per reports) is because by rule he had to finish out the designated I.R time.
  12. Looks like taking the play calling away from Andy Reid had the desired effect. Results- 25/116/Win last week. 24/155/Win this week. This kid is a talented work-horse RB. As long as the chiefs continue to use him as such, they will have success. This down the stretch performance is making my Keeper decision a little more interesting since David Johnson is my current keeper, but at this point I am still leaning D.J because the entire offense revolves around him.
  13. Barber took over for Doug Martin after Martin committed a soft fumble with 3:41 remaining in the second period. From that point forward, Barber out-touched Martin 10-0. We would expect Barber to get the Week 15 start and dominate work against the Falcons. This from the same analysts that predicted he would get the start in week 14 after his week 13 breakout. Yet Doug Martin still got the start in week 14 and only got benched after a fumble. All reasonable logic points to Barber getting the start Monday, but I haven't seen or read anything official.... and coaches don't always do what makes sense.
  14. In regards to fantasy points I guess that prediction would be accurate. I heard more than one person say it. But I wouldn't take too much credit for the seemingly accurate prophecy, because the lack of production isn't Hunt's fault. The offensive line isn't opening any holes and they simply aren't giving him the ball despite averaging almost 5 yards per carry. Now if someone would have said "by week 10 I predict Andy Reid will forget how to coach and will stop giving the ball to his RBs"... well then I would buy that dude a Fresca.
  15. 9 carries and 3 catches this week. That's barely an RB 3. I just don't get it. It's not like he's losing carries to West, they just aren't running the ball. It's very strange. What makes it so strange is the fact that he averaged 4.4 YPC and still only got 9 carries.
