  1. at first glance the second trade doesn't seem all that great for you but i actually kinda get it now. you're moving Alshon to your WR2 spot (still too early in the season to say that's a good or bad move. they are close to equal right now though) and replacing Foster with Lacey at flex (which is a slight improvement in the short term, big one in the long run). I would try to trade Foster asap. hopefully he has a good game today. the likelihood of him getting hurt again is high. might even be able to land a WR2 or high upside WR3 (say a Marvin Jones, Donte Moncrief, Michael Floyd, etc.) once Charles and Rawls get healthy, you should have a lot more RB trade bait and could potentially get someone better than Jordy and Alshon later in the season if need be.
  2. Was hoping Zach Miller would pan out as a sleeper this year but he's not looking good against Philly this week. lots of potential on waivers. who do you like this week? Vance McDonald Jesse James Clive Walford Austin Sefarian-Jenkins Jacob Tamme Jared Cook
  3. do it. you're stacked at WR. that Minnesota game was an anomaly. AP will be running all day like his usual self. Diggs is great but i don't see him getting 100 yards a game very often. you have 3 other stud WRs on your bench. Foster is an injury concern but i'd take half a season of him at your RB2/Flex than a whole season of Diggs strictly being a bye week replacement.
  4. if you could make either of those work i'd do either, no question. i wouldn't do Cooks+Moncrief because Alshon worries me. could end up hurt again and your depth takes a hit with that trade (which isn't good in a 3 WR league). also, Moncrief will have a breakout year this year and will be a huge value from where you drafted him. you will be able to get a lot more out of him later in the season if you keep him, whether in your starting lineup or by trading him, i would try trading Cooks though. he's extremely overvalued imo (going in a lot of drafts as a low-end WR1, high WR2). maybe try getting a better RB2 for him if you can. Moncrief is a safe WR3. Cooks just scares me a bit. not gonna know if you'll get the Cooks from the first half of last season or second half.
  5. 10 Team, non-PPR On my team: Corey Coleman On waivers: Torrey Smith Tajae Sharpe I feel like Coleman has the most upside of the 3 but feel free to convince me otherwise. On my team: Christine Michael Bilal Powell (Forte is my flex) On waivers: Tevin Coleman Spencer Ware DeAndre Washington All the C-Mike hype is hard to ignore. Even if it is exaggerated I feel like he has the highest upside. Ware looks good as well with Charles still recovering. Coleman should get more work than most handcuffs, but at best he'd be a desperation flex play unless Freeman goes down. I like Powell as Forte's handcuff. Would be hard getting rid of him. On my team: Zach Miller On waivers: Jared Cook I like Miller a lot with Martellus Bennett gone this year but Cook is getting a lot of hype. Miller is basically the #2 receiver and his TDs are sure to go up. Cook has Jordy and Cobb to worry about.
  6. i have found my gut to be right more often than advice i'm given, including from a lot of the "experts." i wanted to start Wilson over Newton this week but Newton has been clutch this whole season so i felt i owed it to him to at least hear some other opinions. every ranking had Newton over Wilson (Newton at #1 for most), 99% of other people said go with Cam. it wasn't a game losing move by any stretch since my opponents team appears to have no interest in the championship. i justified it by saying Cam is certainly the safer bet just because of track record this season so it wasn't like i just blindly followed the advice. i really couldn't have gone wrong with either one though. this is my first season where i've participated in forums like these. i admit that the first 6-8 weeks of the season i was the guy who would make a post asking people to practically set my whole lineup every week and who to drop and pick up etc. i've found that since i stopped, not only have i been making better decisions for the most part, i've just been less stressed about setting my lineup each week. knowing that you're in control instead of random internet people is a good feeling. now i only ask for advice for special cases such as the Cam/Wilson decision. i also asked Julius Thomas or Kelce. people only confirmed what my gut was telling me in JT for that one. i think that what you should always do before asking for advice is say "ok, i'm going to start this guy unless someone makes a convincing enough argument as to why i should start the other guy." if you're not leaning towards one guy, then you're not really doing your job as a FF owner imo. you might as well just flip a coin to decide your lineup or just give your account to someone else. you should definitely put more weight on the comments that actually give rationalization for their decisions. if someone just says start this guy without any reason, there's no reason that should sway your opinion. what i've learned this season is you really shouldn't take any advice you're given. . rather, use the opinions to form your own opinion. if someone is making an argument that goes against your gut, do some digging and see if his stance has any merit, then adjust accordingly. you should especially do the same for those that offer evidence supporting what you think. you could end up realizing your own rationalization was flawed. regarding "expert" rankings on various sites, they are good general guidelines, but they are wrong far more often than they're right and should not be followed religiously. if you do, i could almost guarantee you won't make the playoffs. for me, getting an outside perspective is what these forums are really for. not for getting someone else to make a decision for me. not for heated arguments and "haha i was right, you were wrong, i'm so smart, haha." not even for advice really. it's a way to better understand the game of fantasy football by seeing it through someone else's eyes. whether it's someone who's played fantasy since before the internet, or some scrub who just joined his first league yesterday, in some way, shape, or form, you can learn something from everyone here. there's an infinite amount of knowledge to be learned about this game that goes beyond "who do i start?" and as everyone who plays fantasy should know, you are not always right. the way Cam has been playing, plus his playoff schedule, i don't think i'd be more confident in any other QB in the playoffs. set and forget if you ask me.
  7. wow what? Clay has been garbage for all but 3 games this season (2 of which were all the way back before week 5, and without Watkins for that matter). why would one good game change the fact that Clay has been useless? the "don't chase points" argument doesn't apply here. choosing Clay solely because Rogers had a big game last week makes no sense. you're just chasing Clay's points instead anyway. sure Rogers isn't exactly reliable. only a handful of TEs really are this year. but Rogers is certainly safer than Clay. Philly is just as bad of a matchup for Clay.
  8. yeah definitely droppable in an 8 teamer. hell i'd probably drop Lacy as well tbh. assuming Eifert is good to play this week i'd drop Murray for KC DST just to stash for the playoffs. if you need a TE, i'd rather have JT ROS over ASJ. you're good with RBs. Ware and West are going to likely split time so it'll be hard to predict who will be good on which week (similar to Anderson/Hillman).
  9. Russell Wilson or Cam Newton? Julius Thomas or Travis Kelce? will help in return, leave your link!
  10. he's a must sit until he proves otherwise. he's got a low ceiling and low floor. bottom end RB2 at best. with Freeman, Buck Allen, and Deangelo Williams i don't think you'll miss him much.
  11. first team in sig, non-PPR, standard scoring. Pick 2 WRs, 2 RBs, & 1 FLEX: WR Alshon Jeffery Stefon Diggs Dez Bryant Martavus Bryant Malcom Floyd RB Chris Ivory LeSean McCoy Lamar Miller The lineup in my signature is what i'm thinking of doing but just want more opinions. will help in return. leave a link!
