  1. Were you in a good cell area when you tried it? I tried it on the iphone this past weekend and it worked great. Crystal clear picture and I never lost the signal. I noticed it was about 30 seconds behind my home TV, but I got in my car to go pickup dinner and drove about 5 miles in each direction and never lost the game while on the 3G network. I use it regularly on my laptop over a wireless network to get a 6th game (have 5 TVs in my living room) and it works great. I was trying it out on the iphone because there are a few weekends this year that I am not going to be home on Sunday and wanted to see how it worked and I was shocked at how good it was on the 3G network, I thought you'd have to connect the iphone to a wireless network to get a steady picture, but i didn't need to.
  2. I'm not sure what they could possibly do about an inadvertant whistle rule change. I mean, once you blow the whistle, the play is dead. If you blow it and a couple of guys stop running and another guy that didn't hear the whistle goes and jumps on the ball, you can't then go review the play, determine it was a fumble and award possession to the other team when half the players stopped playing before the fumble was recovered. What they need to do is coach the officials to stop blowing the whistle when a ball is loose on the ground, I know in a lot of cases they are trying to protect the players by blowing the play dead, but when there is any doubt, they HAVE to let it play out, you better be SURE its an incomplete pass if you are gonna blow it dead. I agree that Ed Hochuli is the best official out there, and from his view I am sure that it looked like an incomplete pass, but for crying out loud when a guy throws a ball and it lands behind him, you might want to wait until someone jumps on it before blowing the whistle.
  3. Thanks to Skip for pointing me to this thread in an email because I don't check in here often enough to have noticed it. I just wanted to say that I am another fellow RAGE league member that has had the privilege of playing FF with Aqua for like a decade now so this news hit pretty hard and I just wanted to drop by and let you and your wife know that you will be in my entire family's thoughts and prayers tonight. oh, and if you're in need of a good laugh, I could post your Rage roster here for you good buddy.
  4. The stats on CBSSportsline ARE the official NFL stats. The Elias sports bureau goes back after the games and reviews the tapes and makes changes to stats as necessary. I believe that CBS gets their final feed on Tuesday night at which point they consider all scores to be final. That is why you will sometimes see stats change up until that point and it could change the outcome of a game. For whatever reason, NFL.com never goes back and updates their gamebooks with the latest stat changes. If you don't believe that, you can tell because if you add up the players stats from all of their game books, it won't add up to their official season stats. This causes a lot of confusion and conflict in leagues over what stats should be used. The fairest thing for everyone is to use whatever stats your stat service considers final. This happens several times throughout the season but most people don't even notice a slight scoring change if it doesn't change the outcome of a game. It's not until someone goes from a W to an L after a stat change that you have a big uproar. If you watch the game, it was Looker who caught the 21 yard pass. CBS has it correct. If it cost anyone their game, they should live with it, they were supposed to lose since Curtis did not make that catch. If you still think Curtis made the catch, look at his season stat total on NFL.com it is 21 yards less than what it would be if you added up the gamebooks. You can also break down his season stats on NFL.com by clicking on his gamelogs where it shows 3-69 yards, not 90 yards. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/395944/gamelogs/2005
