  1. I don't like either of those guys as a keeper... I'd never keep a QB - period. They're a dime/dozen. As for Gill... I'm one of those guys that stays away from NE almost altogether. Gronk, and maybe Brady (if he fell far enough), but that's about it. Everyone else is subject to the weekly game plan. There's no consistency from week to week for any NE player beyond those 2 guys... would much rather target more reliable players that are going in the same area of the draft where you have to take any NE player.
  2. I don't think that trade is a slam dunk... what is your scoring system?? I don't trust Freeman or Charles. Freeman wore down badly last year, and they are limiting his touches. Throw out the game against NO - that game is an outlier. His upcoming schedule gets very tough, as the next 3 weeks ATL faces CAR, DEN, and SEA... and it isn't easy going the rest of the way either. Charles is an injury waiting to happen - if he was the Charles of yesteryear, he wouldn't even be thrown in the trade pile. I like Pitta, and I like Decker, but not enough to give Gronk away. We need to know what the scoring system is to make a good evaluation though.
  3. Sorry, but for a 10 team, I don't like that team at all... I assume Luck was either your 4th our 5th round pick... too late now, but drafting a QB that early - especially in a 10 team - that put you behind. Who was your other pick in that swing?? I'm assuming you went Brown, Miller, and Allen 1,2,3. You need to work the waiver wire and trades to upgrade your RB situation. Sims is a keeper, so I'd hang on to him, but you need to upgrade from Sproles. Is Ware still out there?? Research the other rosters and see if you can pry a Danny Woodhead or Duke Johnson from someone... At TE Thomas is a complete roll of the dice... I'd be looking to hit a homerun with a backup, maybe Cook or ASJ. Neither is guaranteed to do anything of course, but both have the potential to go off. Their ceilings are higher than Thomas's. For a 10 team, you should have a lot more upside players. You have too many guys whose ceilings are capped.
  4. Dixon should be IR eligible - do you still own him?? What about Ebron?? If you're up against a wall, I'd start with Chris Johnson 1st off of that list, and maybe Matthews... I don't like Gore this year... have you thought about trying to move him??
  5. I like that team a lot better than Bob's. Rawls is looking a bit iffy, but at least he did see the field in the last preseason game. Everyone is agog about Christine Michael, but he's been a tease for a long time now. I think by season's end the back to own there will be Prosise. I like your RB depth for the most part though - as I like Murray and Crowell. Henry being a rookie and sitting behind D. Murray can't be counted on, but is a good flyer pick. I'd consider dumping or trading Thomas for another WR though. Walker is a solid TE1, so why carry 2 TE's?? I like to carry at least 5 WR's and 5 RB's, as of now you only have 4 WR's. Once we get into the byes, and the inevitable injuries, you'll be wishing you had more flexibility. Good luck
  6. Are you saying you are required to carry 2 QB's, TE's and Def's?? Never heard of a league with such rules. Been playing FF for a long time, and have never seen a league that required teams to carry x-number of players at any position. I've seen limits on positions, i.e. 5 RB's, 5 WR's, 3 TE's, etc; but have never seen minimum requirements. The only time I carry more than 1 QB or TE is if I have a complete lack of confidence on who I'm forced to go with; or, as is the case with the one league I've drafted so far - if I'm taking a flyer on a guy who I think might have big upside. I am carrying Sefarian-Jenkins as a 2nd TE in that league b/c I think he has the potential to bust out. If he comes out of the gate and doesn't show much, I'll dump him and live with the TE I have - Zach Ertz. In that league I have 1 QB - Jamies Winston, whom I drafted in the 14th round. I tried to draft a QB sooner, but kept getting sniped, so I just kept waiting; and while waiting, I filled in my roster with RB's and WR's. FF is all about RB's and WR's. The QB position is very cheap b/c the production between the #5 QB and the #15 QB is negligible. If you miss out on an elite defense - streaming is the way to go. Save the roster spot for more RB/WR's. Good luck.
  7. No, I don't think you can contend with that roster in a non-ppr league... you're just too weak at RB. If Stewart stays healthy and produces 1,200+ yds and double digit TD's; and, Matt Jones puts up similar numbers, you might have a shot at the playoffs, but both of those things are not likely to happen. You have 2 QB's, 2 TE's, and 2 Def's... those are wasted roster spots, especially the defenses. If you're going to stream defenses, then stream them and get rid of one. I'd say the same about QB and TE. As a position, QB is just about as cheap as defense... you need to dump the excess you have at those spots, and crab some more RB/WR depth and flyer prospects. As it is - no, you won't contend with that roster.
  8. I like Bernard out of that group. Of course Foster is Foster - then again, is he?? He's been just too banged up to be relied upon. Love his talent, but his talent tends to sit in the garage more often than not. Forte is turning 30, and has more touches in the last 5 years than any player in the league. Couple that with the fact that he is with a new team?? I'm staying away from him. Bernard on the other hand - you know what you're going to get. He's a good player, and is more valuable in PPR than STD.
  9. Sorry, misread your take... If he's nuts enough to carry 3 QB's, and has Garappalo, assuming you have an IR spot, I'm sure he'd be interested in taking Brady. See if you can snaggle Funchess from him... I think he's got a chance to breakout this year. Good luck.
  10. Look at the numbers - QB's are cheaper than cheap. In a 12 team league, the difference between the #6 QB last year (Brees), and the #12 QB (Philip Rivers) was 19.7 pts for the season. Divided by 13 equals about 1.6 pts/wk. Is that worth giving up valuable depth at the most critical positions of RB and WR?? The answer is obvious - of course not. I picked up Blake Bortles off the waiver wire last year, and he finished as the #4 fantasy QB. The year before it was Carson Palmer, and year before that, etc, etc... I've only had one live draft so far this year, and every time I was targetting a QB late in the draft, someone sniped him, and I decided to keep waiting. Most of the teams in that league had 2 QB's before I drafted my only QB, which turned out to be Jamies Winston. I wasn't thrilled with Winston, but I'm sure he'll be fine. He passed for over 4,000 yds last year, and 22 TD'. I certainly expect him to improve on the TD totals. I drafted him in the 13th round. I'd much rather have that kind of production from the 13th round, and a quality #2/#3 RB/WR in round 4/5, than to panic and jump on a QB early.
  11. That trade should not have been vetoed... he gets the valuable backup to the best RB in FF, and Hill isn't that much of a drop off from Freeman. Everyone is focusing on Freeman's 1st half last year... it was a fluke. Look at his career, and look at the last 8 games from last year. He's small, and can't carry the same load he did last year, which means he'll see quite a bit fewer touches. Freeman is being drastically overvalued.
  12. You don't need 2 QB's, so see what he'll give ya for Brady. He's got a terrible team - can't imagine how he arrived at that roster on a per/round basis, lol... not thrilled by your team either, but at least you have some pieces to work with. Don't get caught up in QB's - the difference between the #5 QB, and the #14 QB isn't enough to get worked up about. QB's are cheap. You dug yourself a bit of hole by taking 2 QB's and 2 TE's. Those are roster spots that you could have used at the most valuable positions in FF, i.e. RB and WR.
  13. Gordon, Jones, and Funchess... and I would ask you why those 3 guys are even on the waiver wire?? You don't want to own Jackson. He goes off a few times/year, but he's always banged up, and he's very much hit-or-miss. Puts up way too many clunker outings where he's completely invisible. Funchess will be a big part of the Panthers offense. Don't think it's even close between Funchess and Jackson.
  14. I don't like carrying 2 QB's, let alone 3... and Mariota is pretty much useless in terms of fantasy value. Cut him, and don't lose any sleep over it. I definitely wouldn't cut Crowell... he'll be the base RB, and Johnson will serve as the 3rd down back - the same roles they had last year. Plus Crowell will get the goal line carries. Depending on who is available at RB/WR on your waiver wire, I'd strongly consider dumping Tannehill as well... FF is all about RB and WR's. QB is the cheapest position in FF - why waste valuable roster spots on them?? Is CJ Prosise still available in your league?? Pick him up if he's still out there. Good luck.
  15. Well, there ya go then... assuming you kept nobody - you will have the 1st 3 picks, which should start with Elliott. You'll have your choice between CJ, Marshall, DT, etc with your second and third picks. And you'll have the 3rd choice in the 4th round... so of the players available, you will have picks 1, 2, 3, and 6. You should be able to figure out who all of those guys will be before you actually draft. Good luck.
