  1. You're pretty well set at RB, so the only RB I would consider is Starks, to handcuff Lacy. Otherwise, I'd grab Rivers. Bush is always hurt and will be playing in a weak offense that's looked horrible so far in the preseason. Allen *might* be Forsett's handcuff for the long term, but last I heard Taliaferro was still in the running for that spot, though he is out for a few weeks. That said, I think Starks makes the best sense for you if you decide to grab an RB.
  2. This is troubling news for KC. Poe is one of the best 3-down NT's in the league, and missing him for any length of time could seriously hurt their playoff chances. Poe gets double and sometimes triple teamed on virtually every play, and if a lesser player takes his place (or if Poe is less effective when he returns), that's one more blocker offenses can devote to slowing down Houston and Hali. Poe is a good pass rusher in his own right, and losing him means less pressure on the QB all around. Besides this, the Chief run defense is already a trouble spot, and without the massive Poe to clog the middle, it will likely get worse. This injury could hurt Poe financially, too, since 2015 is his contract year and he's regarded around the league as a franchise-type player. Dontari Poe is a big key to a Chiefs title run this year, and the team simply can't afford to be without him for long. Two of KC's first three games are with Denver and at Green Bay, and if Poe misses those games, Manning and Rodgers could easily go off -- especially since Sean Smith, KC's best CB, is suspended the first three games.
  3. What is your scoring system? League format? Without knowing that information and assuming this is a redraft league, Stafford for Brees is an upgrade, as is Wesley for Gordon, and I'd actually rather have Gronkowski these days rather than Graham (who likely won't be 100% again this season). It comes down to giving up Lynch for Bush. If it was me, I would do this trade. I could live with Lynch for Bush considering the value I'd pick up elsewhere.
  4. What's your scoring system? Whatever it might be, unless the other owner is absolutely desperate for RB help, I can't imagine why he'd go for this deal. Right now the Giants' passing offense is as bad as it's been in years, which diminishes Nicks' value, and Ridley is so hit and miss that you can't really depend on him week to week. If the other owner really needs a RB and you substituted Zac Stacy, you might get him thinking.
  5. I could see the Chiefs winning if 1) the front seven gets in Manning's face quickly; 2) the corners have a fantastic game; 3) the offense commits no TO's. Lacking all that, I'm not so sure. The potential loss of Bowe is ominous, but I'm actually more concerned about the defense after watching a Jeff Tuel-led offense carve them up a couple weeks ago (470 total yards).
  6. According to the linked article from the KC Star, Bowe was suspended for 4 games in 2009 for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. If I understand NFL rules, this means his next suspension will be for 8 games. Only thing I'm not clear about is whether he's likely to be suspended immediately or if they'll wait until after his court hearing on Dec. 18. After seeing what happened to Justin Blackmon a few weeks ago, I'm guessing it will be immediate. The timing couldn't be more horrible for the Chiefs. Dwayne Bowe ticketed for speeding, possessing Josh Gordon
  7. Denver's next three games: KC, @NE, @KC Broncos figure this week is a cinch and have their minds on the next two road games. Chiefs win. (Okay, I don't buy it, either, but it's nice to dream if you're a Chief fan.)
  8. I voted 3, but the more I think about it, I should have picked 4 (i.e., never). In the early rounds, I limit myself to "can't miss" players and leave the riskier guys for others. Even in the 5th round (which would never happen but just sayin'), I'd rather grab one of the top TE's or Schaub rather than a guy like Charles. Yes, I know even "can't miss" players can and do bust, but I'm talking percentages here. I think there's a reasonable chance Charles will disappoint this year due to the RBBC with Jones.
  9. Yeah, I got Felix pretty cheaply for both of my WCOFF teams. Paid $3 for him in the auction league, and got him at 9.08 in the main event. I can't say I was really targeting him, but I'm suprised there wasn't more interest in him, especially from the Barber owners.
  10. At least the Lion offense looked decent. The Rams were terrible on both sides of the ball.
  11. Today, for the first time I can ever remember, I went WR-WR-WR with my first three picks (in the WCOFF draft)--Moss, A Johnson, and S Smith. I'm actually pretty happy with how my RBs turned out, considering I picked my first one in round 4. Ended up with T Jones, K Smith, J Stewart, F Jones, and some other backups, which isn't a world beater but seems pretty solid considering my monster WR depth. RB depth is just sick this year, so waiting awhile to get your #1 ain't a bad strategy IMO, especially in a PPR league.
  12. I think that is actually your best option. Since the commissioners didn't inform the owner of the rule change, let him drop 1-2 players and take one or both of your backups. (1) This shows you're willing to take responsibility for your error; (2) besides this, it's not likely to hurt either of your teams very much; and (3) a TE combo of Daniels & Olsen, while not stellar, ain't half bad for the other owner.
  13. Probably thinking about stealing somebody's luggage....
  14. Just got back from WCOFF in Dallas, where I drafted in the main event as well as the first world championship auction event. Had an absolute blast. I was originally going for the auction only (Friday night), but they still had some openings for the main event, so I decided to stick around today for that. The auction draft had to be done via conference call because the 12 owners were in 3 different cities (Vegas, Atlantic City and Dallas). The whole thing lasted about 90 minutes longer than normal (I definitely didn't envy the auctioneer), but it went pretty smoothly all things considered and was plenty of fun. Not sure what I think of my team yet, though. The WRs were going for crazy prices early on--one guy spent $169 on 4 players (A Johnson, Wayne, TO and Burress) and basically got junk for the rest of his roster (top priced player after those 4 was Derrick Mason--another WR!--for $4). I overspent on Fitzgerald ($46), but I didn't want to walk out of there without getting at least one of the top receivers. Also got Romo, Addai, L Coles, and the Minny defense, so I have a pretty solid nucleus anyway. Emil Kadlec was one of the drafters and ended up with a very solid team. The draft this afternoon went better for me, I think. I drafted at the 8 spot and got Moss, A Johnson, and S Smith at 1-2-3, and later grabbed T Jones, K Smith, J Stewart and F Jones (hopefully the young RBs can come through for me). I feel pretty good about my team, and will feel even better once Smith comes off his suspension. The guy drafting at the 2 spot took an interesting approach. Some of his picks: 1.02 Barber (I'm not kidding) 6.11 Kitna!! (8th QB taken) 10.11 Nate Washington (seriously!) Who else went to WCOFF? Let's hear your stories.
  15. Can't imagine why since they already have Stecker and Thomas around if Deuce can't handle the load. Plus Rudi is not a particularly good receiver, which also hurts his case given how much NO throws the ball.
