Here is the deal.
I am in a 12 team standard performance + PPR league.
We only get 3 Free agent pickups a year and I have already blown 2. Trade Deadline has past as well.
My roster is a follows:
Romo QB Dal
Eli Manning QB NYG
Delhomme QB Carolina
Larry Johnson RB KC
Lynch RB Buffalo
Pittman RB TB
Wynn RB GB
Steve Smith WR Carolina
Terrell Owens WR Dallas
Randy Moss WR NE
Devery Henderson WR NO
Vernon Davis TE SF
Jeff King TE Car
Adam Vinatieri, IND K
Detroit D
I am in a very tough division. I am 4-5 and 2 games out of 1st place. Next weeks starts the 2nd round of divisional games. (3 in a row against the 3 in my division).
With Larry Johnson out... what do I do? Can I depend on Pittman as a 2nd or should I use my LAST free agent pickup and go after somebody?
Available Free Agents are:
Justin Fargas Oakland
Ryan Grant Green Bay
Priest Holmes KC
Thanks in advance
Standard Performance PPR.
I have Vernon Davis and he hasn't done anything yet...
I picked up Jeff King this week....
Who DO I start?
King vs Atlanta
Davis vs Pit
LT will have a huge game this week... meaning you only need your other RB to show up on Sunday.
If you get PPR, I would go with Green.
If not... go with Brown.
Witten for sure. Huard will complete at-most 15-17 passes this week... 5 of which will be to RB's.
That leaves 10-12 receptions for WR/TE... Just not much opportunity for Gonzo to have a huge week...
Witten is the better risk.
This coming from a Minnesota fan... go with Johnson.
Minnesota has a good rush D and they are weak on the pass rush.
They played Atlanta tough last week... but it was a vick-less Atlanta.
Last year, teams figured out how to pass on them and did it well. They didn't add anybody to their D this year and I expect more of the same. Detroit always plays Minnesota tough in Detriot and I can see Kitna throwing all over the Vikes on Sunday.
Stallworth may do better this week... but Brady still likes to spread the ball around. Moss had a huge game last week... and that is about the best any NE receiver will do (catching all 9 passes thrown to you is tough).
Johnson for sure.
This guy is a stud and Detriot will be throwing against Minnesota this week.
The Giants didn't have a problem running their 2nd string RB against Dallas last week... I would go with Brown.
Larry Johnson.
2 reasons:
#1: Chicago's offense isn't that good. Although KC looked horrible, don't expect Chicago to run away with it... meaning KC shouldn't be playing from behind the whole game... hence... more rushing.
#2: Look at last season... Chicago's D allowed:
Week 1: Ahman Green - 110 Yards
Week 3: Chester Taylor - 74 Yards
Week 8: Frank Gore - 111 Yards
Week 9: Ronnie Brown - 157 Yards
Week 10: Tiki Barber - 141 Yards
Week 14: Chester Taylor - 99 Yards
DIV: Shaun Alexabdear- 108 Yards
SB: Dominic Rhodes- 113 Yards
Conclusion... Good Running backs do well against the Bears.
Well, I haven't been able to pull of a trade and won't before this weekend.
So back to the chalkboard...
Who to Start at WR...
Only can start 2...Standard Performance + PPR
Moss vs SD
S Smith vs Houston
Owens @ Miami
