  1. I was hoping to get Matt Rhule, Josh McDaniels or Eric Bieniemy as our new HC and figured that McDaniels was supposed to be coming to Charlotte for his interview this morning, followed up Perry Fewell (courteous interview) on Wednesday and Eric Stefanski on Thursday, so I figured we would know something by the end of this week. Was very surprised to see the news break this morning that David Tepper was impressed with his interview and his vision and didn't want him to fly to NYC to interview with the Giants as everything I read was he was their first choice. As a Penn Stater as well as a Carolina Panthers season ticket holder, I am pretty happy that we landed Matt Rhule and hope it gets us heading in the right direction after two disappointing seasons.
  2. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. My dad is 77 now and is great health, but health can be a fleeting thing and tough to endure when you see your dad deteriorate the way he has over the past few weeks. Will be thinking about you and your family, just know he is in a better place now.
  3. Mine blew in February and got a new Rheem gas water heater. I think Rheem is a pretty good brand, but you can find them at a Home Depot or Lowe's. You can check out local plumbers and see if you could get a good deal to stay within your price range. I am pleased with the Rheem that we bought!
  4. Great video Menudo! As a die hard Penn Stater, it is especially nice to see that not only is Jared a great football player, but also a terrific kid that gives back to his community.
  5. I think Stewart will be fine and Fox is being very cautious with him in pre-season. Stewart has been with the team now a full year and knows the offiense Fox does not want to risk losing one of his important offensive players to a serious injury before the real bullets start flying. Also, just as a little insight to my fellow Huddlers, should Stewart misses signficant time during the regular season Mike Goodson, the Panthers 4th round pick is making a name for himself at camp and has impressed not only the coaches by his teammates with his ability to make big plays. He would be worth a FA pickup should Stewart miss time.
  6. I have had Home Trust Warranty and American Hold Shield and have definitely benefited from having them. The last two homes were in good shape, but when the house hits 10-15 years old things typically need repairs or replacing, so controlling your out of pocket having a home warranty makes sense. If you house is newer, I would be less inclined to consider one as you are less likely to need it.
  7. It is not as simple as that. DWill didn't work as much as he could have in the first two years. One of the things I had heard over the sportstalk radio was that he wasn't that great with picking up the blitz and the other things needed from a RB. I was frustrated as a fan wanting to see DWill in a bigger role in his first two years, but from what the beat writers said last summer was that the drafting of JStew really opened up his eyes to really "get it" and become a true pro and do the little things that Fox wants to see. The light came on and the results were fantastic. The other nice to see was the fact that DWill is gregarous while JStew is very quiet, but they really became friends at camp as DWill the vet opened up to the Rook and they became good friends. They are both very glad to see the success of the other, which is not something you always see in the NFL.
  8. I think that both Williams and JStew will not match their numbers from last year. The Panthers schedule is very tough with only one team (Buffalo) having a losing record. All the pieces are still there with a terrific OL a decent QB, and a stud WR in Smith, but everything went pretty well for the Panthers last year and I think it will be very tough to repeat their success with the tougher Ds that they will face. DWill will still be terrific, but I would predict around 1,300 yds and about 15 TDs, while JStew will likely get around 700 yds with about 6-8 TDs. Bronco Billy was spot on the Goodson comment. He has been WOWing the coaching staff and the team will find a way to get him the ball. I have heard that he is really good hands and actually use him in the slot as a WR. I think they may also use him on ST to return kicks or punts. If you are in a league with PPR he may be someone to consider as I think he will see the field to give the Panthers yet another weapon on the field and create mismatches for opposing Ds. I think Steve Smith will have a monster year as he will be active for all 16 games (hopefully) and with the new focus on stopping the run game, he will see more opportunities to stretch the field and find the seems to do more damage YAC. I is likely the 8 - 10th WR coming off FF draft boards, but my gut tells me that he will post numbers closer to a top 4 or 5 WR.
  9. Glad everything went well Irish. My oldest daughter was born at RWJ hospital, so it is always nice to know you have a good team of doctors to work on your son, even if it was a minor procedure. The conversation with him about the kids that have cancer, was probably also good in that it will give him an appreciation that he is blessed and to help pray for those kids and their family.
  10. Yes, this is a nice place in N. Myrtle. We stay in Cherry Grove, which is the northern part of N. Myrtle as my wife's best friend's parents own a condo there that they let us use sometimes. We just went down there during Father's Day week and stayed at a timeshare that my brother belongs to that is right next to Barefoot Landings, which is a terrific place for food, shopping and entertainment. I sent you a PM to see if I could help you out with the things that you want to do while you are there.
  11. Online Banking is one of the best things about banking with BAC. They offer it for free and it is a smart thing, as it is what we in the Banking industry call a "sticky" product. The more you use it, the more you get hooked on it. I have 30 + payees listed, do many recurring payments to local utilities CCs, etc. They have a new feature called "My Portfolio" that allows you to link into your loans, investments, Credit Cards, list your house and get updates via Zillow.com to basically replace the need for using Quicken, as it gives me the ability to track my investments, loans, CC balances, cash flows, set up a monthly budget and put my transactions into the various budget classifications and it automatically updates everything when every I get into my account. It saves me a lot of money in stamps, as I can't remember the last time, I actually paid a bill by writing a check and using an envelope (probably 4 or 5 books of stamps). What makes sense for the Bank is once you get into it and load it up with everything, it makes it very difficult to close your account and move it somewhere else. So for the Bank the free service really pays dividends by boosting deposits, retaining customers and saving processing of many of the typcial transactions that people write checks for. I think it was one of the best ideas that the Bank has every come up with and one of the reasons why BAC is the leading Bank in national deposits.
  12. I have moved banks over the twenty years since I have been employed and most were the product of moving from one state to another. Working for Bank of America, I get some nice perks and have all of my banking needs from checking, savings, mortgages and credit cards. Thank goodness I have been with the Bank since we moved to NC in 1996, so it has been a long time since I had to change out any of my accounts.
  13. Sorry to hear this sad news. It makes you appreciate life and want to live it to its fullest. One of our best friends lost their 12 year old nephew from cancer about a month ago. He was diagnosed in December and was gone by April, as he didn't quite make it to his 13th birthday. With a dad with four kids, it makes me very sad when someone loses a child. It makes you thankful for health and everyday that you get to be with them as it can end in a split second from a car accident, fire, etc.
  14. Can someone post the list on this thread. The link is blocked at work and would like to see who is included. Thanks!
  15. I think being honest is the best thing to do. I think the judge will recogonize your honesty and dismiss you from serving. It is the people that come up with lame excuses that will not be dismissed and will likely get call to be on a jury. Good luck.
