  1. THANKFULLY I went Favre over Volek...I figured cold/frozen = dropped balls (stonehands)
  2. I went with FAVRE...THANK GOD. Main reason was cold temps, Volek is a Fresno State guy and I figured Bennett would drop balls.
  3. Maybe tool isn't right, but I love the Cosmopolitans vs Guiness analogies. VERY true. I can say that while at Michigan Henson was always out at bars, but I never saw Brady out. Whatever, I'll take a studious nerdy QB who wins. Balzac, apologies, i thought when you stated you liked Drew better you meant as a QB. As for Manning....I'm done for now. Yes, he's good, but great? WE'LL SEE THIS JANUARY. Colts D has never been better than now, and with everyone healthy on offense if the Colts don't make a SB this year, they never will.
  4. Hugh One (and all of you!).... My "lose sleep" dilemma is Favre (@Min) or VOLEK (vs Denver) It's almost a coin flip. I'm trying to win the SB here in the legendary Felon Fantasy League (Made famous by our celebrity author, MSAINT)...he is not in the SB, I'm facing the Big Dogs. Currently I have left Volek in the starting spot since he dominated last week. Any legit insights on the Denver D (any injuries of note?) Anything on the TN game plan, etc?
  5. GAK, you may have pushed me back onto the Volek side. At this point Volek is my starter. IF I lose based on Favre/Volek, I'll be able to rationalize that I started the #1 FFL QB over the past 2 weeks.
  6. Stunned to see PATS fans pining for Bledsoe. Look, I was a Drew fan and still have a Drew jersey (in mothballs...) but seriously, Drew was cut from the same cloth as Marino and Manning - pocket passers, statues if you will, with great arms. BUT I will say he was waaay inferior than Manning and Marino because he was a lock for the critical INT. Brady was a 6th round pick. At Michigan, Griese was ahead of him as starter and then the whole (dumb) state wanted Drew Henson I hated Henson. He is another DUMB QB IMO, and this will be proven out if he ever has an NFL career. I also saw plenty of Navarre and can say he too was made decent by great WRs. Brady was different. Watch the Orange Bowl vs Alabama from 2000 or the Penn State comeback in 1999. You saw that Brady was SMART and special. I wish Drew well, and no athlete has EVER left Boston with more class. He is a hero in many ways, but I seriously question the football mind of ANYONE that would choose Bledsoe over Brady. If you asked NFL coaches, it would be 32-0. If you ask fans from other states outside New England and Washington it's 99% pro Brady. Yet loyalists who only remember 500 yard games and 5 TD passes vs the likes of Miami or Minnesota will still choose Bledsoe. CRAZY
  7. Thanks for the advice to date. I am honestly close to "coin flip." It's 50% each right now. I'm dying for the no-brainer move (like snow in Tennessee) that makes me start Favre. I also lost some games late with a cold Favre (vs Detroit...) The rest of the lineup is set. Psyched about Randy Moss and Lee Evans. May go with Favre so I can watch that game as if it is the SUper Bowl as I have Randy Moss too!
  8. CaptainHook, I am VERY impressed at the knowledge/facts you dug up. Sadly thefacts speak for themselves. Yes, Peyton can toss 5 TDs vs the likes of a Denver (bad d last year) or KC....but look at the three duds above. I agree, Ty Law (or Vinatieri) deserved SB 36 MVP, and yes I watched...I was there (and I was at SB 38). If I have the top FFL pick next year, I take Peyton. If I'm in the NFL playoffs and I'm a head coach, I take Brady. There's no way I can be convinced otherwise. Only guys that compare to him (7-0 in OTs, etc.) were the vintage Favres, Elways and Montanas. CLUTCH.
  9. VOLEK. Collins sucks on the road and has ONE WR.
  10. Lots to Josh Gordon through, I was, sigh, working. First off....my Mom is 38 and lives in my basement Secondly, bag on Tara all you want, I'll take sloppy 783rds from her all day. Back to Peyton-Brady. Here is what we know: Fact: Brady has 2 rings and 2 SB MVPs Fact: Manning has 1 (plus this year) MVPs Fact: Manning will have shattered season and lifetime records, I don't doubt it Fact: Manning threw tons of INTs the first few years, Brady didn't WHAT'S UNKNOWN: Who is better. Raw skills, it's Manning; better arm. Who's smarter? right now it's a landslide in favor of Brady as evidenced by his 4th quaretr comebacks. Someone mentioned name another choke by Manning except last year's playoffs? well, seeing as he';s missed the playoffs in about half or more of his seasons, that may be hard to do. But how about his ROAD Playoff record? Let's dig up his QB rating and INTs, shall we? I am fine with this FACT: Some of us would choose Brady to lead our team in January, others would choos Manning. It's OK to be different. But until you get 2 rings, you have no evidence unless you want to sound like Dan Marino fans!!! In other news, Brady LED THE NFL 2 yrs ago in TD passes, has 24 this year (second in AFC...) and continues to throw out 3,500 yard seasons. Not bad for a "Dilfer". Morons.
  11. CRAP. I guess you're right. Plus Champ and Lynch could shut down Bennett
  12. I have the SAME dilemma. Have $650 on the line. i'm in the SB, and have Fvare, Volek or Delhomme. Jake is ruled out (vs TB). I'm 51% sold on Volek OVER Favre b/c the defense is so bad and there is no running game w/out Chrius Brown. So Volek HAS to throw. GB can run the ball and Favre seems to be hitting 2-3 INTs a week these days. PLUS....he couldn't even light up the Lions! So, as of now, and take this from a man in your EXACT SAME SHES, I would give the nod to Volek, but I too am reading with interest and have a ton at stake.
  13. THANKS....I think I can sleep better if I lose with Volek sucking than Favre sucking. I will have started the best FFL QB in the NFL over the last 3 weeks!
  14. Now, can I ask advice as everyone ignores the advice forums? I'm in the SB and have to choose Favre @ Min or Volek vs Den. i started Volek last week. BOTH should be huge. Who is a better bet to throw for over 300 and have 1 or more TDs for OVER 30 yards?
  15. First off: GREAT discussion here because there are strong opinions. We'll never be able to prove the differences. When Peyton was in COLLEGE I thought he was a fantasy QB in the making but I also saw him as a "never win the big one" guy. The Brady in college stuff may be true, but he has reached NEAR-NAMATH status now. He's nailed 405 hot actresses/models, is mr.GQ, and frankly the envy of any heterosexual male. I hope he continues to nail hot models. i would too. Funny how Bier Meister stops his stats analysis at 2003. LOOK AT 2004. We finally get our own version of an Edgerrin James and...voila', top 5 offense in the NFL. And our D is terrible (secondary), probably worse than the Colts right now. I'd love someone to flash up Manning's first 30 NFL starts stats vs Brady. Manning was laughably bad his first couple of years. Brady has been money since the get go. Here's the thing: we can ALL agree Brady is not a stats monster. We can also agree he is a SMART QB (yes, like Montana, Simms, etc.) BLEDSOE was a stat monster for 4-5 years. He made his share of pro bowls...but in my mind he is FAR CLOSER to Peyton Manning (and vice versa) because the guys NEVER COULD WIN THE BIG ONE. The Ben Wallace example is silly. QBs in the NFL are the main stars (sometimes there is a star RB or WR too, rarely - Baltimore in 2001 - it's all the defense). So Jordan/Dominique is fair, although I've already stated Brady isn't a stats guy. Last laugh will happen again sometime in January. Pats may lose, but the Colts sure as hell won't win...and there will be a costly mistake by Manning - there always is.
