  1. I would say Hank Baskett for the Eagles would be considered a super sleeper considering he was an undrafted rookie who worked his way to the starting #2 Wr spot before the Donte Stallworth was acquired. I think he may have trouble working out of the slot now, but split out he showed a lot of potential. He far outplayed every veteran on an admittedly weak receiving core. He's a sleeper in a real football sense, not fantasy-wise, considering few top wr draft picks even have the chance to start. I think you may hear his name on the highlight reels- if we hadn't picked up stallworth I would have been positive he'd do something this year- I had him pegged for 500 yards, 5 tds- maybe now, we're talking about the future.
  2. Does S. Davis pick up hurt him? I'm sure it's been asked but if it has could someone point me to the right thread?
  3. This had no fantasy impact as Pinkston was not a fantasy option with the Eagles, and coming off an injury, and with a quarterback past his prime, there isn't much of an argument he ever will be. Still, I disagree that he's not a useful player. He stretches the field. He does have one play, essentially, which is a straight ahead fly route, catch over the shoulder. But it works. Troy Williamson has this kind of potential, they brought him in to be Randy Moss and beat everyone deep but he has only shown flashes. Pinkston, if anything, might help Williamson develop, or since this is mostly a matter of pure speed, at least push him. Here is the real question, as an Eagles fan, maybe some of you are Vikings fan and I want to know if you're angry yet ? What is Childress doing? It seems like he's still tied to the Eagles' apron. Let's see he traded with the Eagles for a bust prospect, giving up a UDRF who show potential in the process. Then he tried to get Aj Feeley back, only to be outbid by the Eagles. Now he just picked up a cast off from the team. I know he wants to instill the same system but he has to remember the Eagles are in the same conference. What's going on?
  4. Yeah... I think Horn's Value goes up. That's probably it for fantasy implications. I don't know that Reggie Brown is a better fantasy option. He fits the pocession receiver role better, Stallworth will be the speed guy on the outside which they needed. He may make Pinkston expendable.
  5. 610 WIP in Philadelphia is reporting the trade. Stallworth for LB Mark Simoneau and a future undisclosed draft pick.
  6. Great post Balzac. You kind of convinced me on Ronnie Brown. But he's still not proven. But I do think that the Miami offense takes a big step forward. They have some players. I agree with you about Larry Fitzgerald. I really like him as a number one. As far as recievers go, I have this thought that Randy Moss might be a value pick in the second round if you can get him there. Of course, that is a gamble with a second rounder. But he is the only receiver that I've ever seen taken in the first that really paid off. As far as Manning goes, he's a safe pick, but I expect similar numbers out of Palmer some rounds later and I just feel like you can get solid Qbs later. You make a good point about the colts passing more but they are still a good running team and I actually see Addai and Rhodes stepping in nicely. Rhodes put up decent numbers in previous years when Edge was out. Edge was no Barry Sanders, doing it all himself. The colts in their recent incarnation have been able to run the football. Now, I just looked up at your team and see you got Larry Johnson, which means you're in good shape.
  7. sorry top 2 backs Alexander and L.t. got erased. But we don't need to talk about them, of course.
  8. I guess if that's the case Big Country, Parker might be worth a second to me. But only this year, where I see so many RBs with questions. Westbrook might be worth a second to me this year, too. I like Rudi, he's solid to me and worth a first. Other guys you mentioned haven't proved much to me. Like Caddy, but Gruden hasn't shown he won't overwork him. Had him last year as a third RB and he he hurt me once he started sitting out. here's my top running back thoughts, in no particular order, okay in a little bit of an order l.j.- of course, but wait that offensive line hasn't looked so good but he's still elite so of course tiki- older, maybe doesn't matter, but brandon jacobs will steal more goal line carries edge- how will he do in arizona? I have no idea. And I have no idea how good their offensive line is? Somebody fill me in on this? stephen jackson- behind a suspect rams line, but shows flashes of a lot of talent. also, offense likes to throw the ball lamont jordan- behind a suspect oakland line r. johnson- solid producer, not going to be spectacular but worth it okay that's seven, not rookies, shown production, not in split backfields, i just seem to have more questions about Rbs than ever before. who else deserves first round consideration? please any points, criticism of logic or comments would be helpful
  9. After the third or fourth pick in the draft this year, I have no idea what to do. I really don't want to take a reciever, but do I have a choice? Is Ronnie Brown that good? I've been hearing terrible things about Lamont's prospects behind Oakland's line, St. Louis line not good, Portis is hurt, the list goes on... the only number 1 Rb that is not a superstar is rudi Johnson. So am I stuck taking Steve Smith or Larry Fitzgerald (both if whom were on my team last year, drafted 5th and 7th rounds respectively) in the first? I don't think there is a reciever worth a first and yet, I run out dependable running backs. I'm thinking screw it and gamble with the Willie Parker in the third hopefully, and maybe in the later rounds Joe Addai/Dom Rhodes and Mike Bell kind of thing... What is everyone else doing?
  10. Been playing in standard league for years. This year I want to start either a keeper or dynasty league- I'm tired of all my late round gems going to waste when I don't win my league. Generally, want a more committed, more in depth game. Can anyone recommend what services are good for this kind of league, especially for controlling how many you want to keep, the possibility of a rookie draft, etc?
  11. what do you think? testeverde seems to have taken some pressure off and he did have that nice long run. they always go to him in the red zone and his carries haven't dropped off. or is this a temporary illusion?
  12. We should remember that the Pats did not even make the playoffs after their first superbowl (the lucky one). Who knows, this might be the year where they start losing all those close games. Maybe it is Indy's time. But they need the game at home.
  13. Wow. Thanks Tony. Can you post that every week? JK.
  14. I don't think To will be back. Reid thinks every player is replaceable.
  15. I agree. I think he is frustrated and not used to losing. For those defensive pats fans, I'll remind you of the war of words before and after the superbowl last year. freddie mitchell when prompted by a question said he did not know who the pats cornerbacks were (he honestly did not, I believe, because he was unprepared) and the pats took grave offense to it and responded back through the media. They are a proud team (with good reason) but also a rather sensitive one. Later on, Bellcheck had no problem saying on national TV that Mitchell was "not very good", and for all his supposed class, insulted a player who was at the time a starting player on another team. Let's but this in the context of Brady's "you don't talk about our team..." So it's fine when the Patriots do it but not when anybody else does. Marty didn't even really say anything bad about them... just stated that it's tough with injuries, which is true. The pats, who are used to being the darlings of the NFL, aren't used to this kind of stuff. Real class would be to not respond. The way McNabb doesn't respond to his numerous detetractors.
