I used to be incredibly active on this forum a few years ago, and I've only been lurking and reading this summer. But this thread finally got me to come out and say something. I personally have noticed a lack of fresh ideas on the board, as a whole, compared to a few years ago. Many legitimate threads go unanswered, and some are killed before they begin because people pick a fight. The poster in this case didn't seem to ask a question that duplicated other threads. In fact, the poster seemed to have some rather original insight and indepth analysis from the beginning, and he tried to fashion the Topic in a way that would distinguish this thread from other "MJD injury" threads already pending. There is no need to ostracize him or criticize his post. I wish there were more posts like his going around - fresh, insightful, and supported. There is no need to disincentivize well-intentioned posters from adding their thoughts to the forum.
As far as MJD, I think any RB on a bad team carries a great deal of risk. Without a team that generates several goal-line attempts per game, the RB must fashion his own scoring from afar. If you WERE to pick a RB on a bad team, however, wouldn't MJD be the sort of back you'd want? A RB that can catch, run outside, run between the tackles, break long runs, AND move the pile in short-yardage situations? Because MJD is the real deal and has proven that he can shoulder the load for his entire team, I think he is as good of a bet as almost any other runner. Well worth the risk IMHO. Plus, he fell to my team in my local draft at 1.10!!
