  1. The draft went very smoothly! From the 12 spot, I tried to create some runs and gain relative strengths in areas other than QB and RB, which I think I did. Of course, without a RB(or two) stepping up getting 15-18 touches a game, I may have to ask The Opiates to trade one of his 11 (!?!) RBs to me Player YTD Pts Bye Drafted Campbell, Jason WAS QB - 8 17.12 Garrard, David JAC QB - 7 9.12 Roethlisberger, Ben PIT QB - 8 7.12 Brown, Donald IND RB - 6 8.01 McClain, Le'Ron BAL RB - 7 14.01 Mendenhall, Rashard PIT RB - 8 10.01 Thomas, Pierre NOS RB (P) - 5 3.12 Ward, Derrick TBB RB - 8 5.12 Burleson, Nate SEA WR (P) - 7 16.01 Crabtree, Michael SFO WR - 6 13.12 Holmes, Santonio PIT WR - 8 6.01 Smith, Steve CAR WR - 4 2.01 Wayne, Reggie IND WR - 6 1.12 McMichael, Randy STL TE (Q) - 9 18.01 Witten, Jason DAL TE - 6 4.01 Gostkowski, Stephen NEP PK - 8 12.01 Chargers, San Diego SDC Def - 5 11.12 Cowboys, Dallas DAL Def - 6 15.12
  2. is Addai still on the board at 4.11?
  3. Thank you very much, Rhino! Think I owe you a case by now...
  4. Thanks for the right up, DD! It was a pleasure drafting after/before you... What i tried to do from the #3 spot was completely different in both drafts, in the normal sereptine draft I tried to reinforce the advantage of having 3 of the top 27 picks, thus i took Smith before he got suspended to pair with SJax/Fitz... in a PPR league, i definately liked this start... in the 3rd round reversal, i opted for Brees at 3.10 since i needed a difference maker, and the 13th WR would technically get me a good WR2, but grabbing the last Tier 1 QB gives me an advantage over 8 other teams... the rest of both drafts is just trying to find some value... i usually "tank" either QB or TE since i do not want to sacrifice at RB3 or WR3 since there is a flex... it was a great idea to show them side by side!
  5. thanks for all the work on this TOS! of course, i would not have taken Fitz at 2.10 if I knew I would have a shot at a Tier 2 WR at 3.03, but i understand the purpose of this mock and find it very helpful!
  6. Drafting from the #3 Spot loses any chance to be proactive and trying to dictate the draft in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th round... i'm talking about starting runs or clearing out Tiers. I ended up drafting the best player instead, though I am happy with the results: Brees (3.10) S Jax (1.03) T Jones (5.03) Forte (6.10) Fitz (2.10) Ca Johnson (4.10) Cotchery (7.03) V Davis (8.10) only because I had to draft a TE interesting excercise... good idea to try one!
  7. it's pretty clear that the advantage of picking in the Top 3 is mostly negated in this format, which is a good thing, IMHO. I like (not love) my team so far from the #3 Spot: Brees S Jax T Jones Fitz Ca Johnson
  8. if you still have room, i'll take the third spot
  9. Shiznet is thinking what I'm thinking: the #13 pick will get me something good... however, it is easier to find a WR in a PPR league that will contribute that solid RBs (and MJD is good for 40+ catches, which is half of what I would expect from a WR there) Thanks for the help!
  10. Thanks for the responses! Having gone through all the rosters, I made a trade offer to the one team that has only one apparent keeper (since you can only keep two, I offered either for a draft pick). I also noticed that while WRs outscored RBs last year, the drop off at RB is way greater once you get past the Top 20...
  11. Having a small problem deciding which two keepers to keep. The problem is that the Kept Player costs the corresponding draft pick. I really like Gore and Jones Drew and I think they will both be Top 10 RBs, but that would cost me my first two picks and by the time my 3rd round pick comes around, it would be about pick #24 (after guestimating which Keepers are Kept), and the talent at WR then would be top of Tier 3, if I was lucky. My other viable option is to keep S Holmes since he would cost me a 6th round pick. I think he is a solid WR2. If I don't keep MJD, I would get the 13th pick, which is about the middle of Tier 3 RBs and bottom of Tier 2 WRs. It is a PPR league with no yardage bonuses, and we start 2 RB and 2 WR with a flex. Last year the Top 3, 10 and 20 WRs outscored the RBs in this format. So I guess my question is, am I better off with Gore/#13 Pick/Holmes than Gore/MJD? Thanks!
  12. the pre-season concensus top three (LT, Jackson and Gore) all had big games. too bad a lot of Top 3 pickers got steam rolled during the regular season by the NE/DAL juggernaut... should be some interesting Super Bowl match ups... that should be a separate thread...
  13. listening to people talk about their fantasy team is like listening to someone recant blackjack hands: we've all been there and done that. you would thing this community would be a little more sympathetic at times, but jokes and quips are easier. out of my five teams: main local, first round bye 2nd main local, missed high man for the year by 0.96 (1210.19 to 1209.25) and missed the playoffs Huddler Nation, not mathematically illimenated yet at 7-6 with a week to go new keeper, playoffs new local, playoffs and then the dealer pulled a four, and took my money...
  14. 14 team redraft, PPR, TD heavy scoring. 2nd in points and 6-5 if Selvin doesn't go off tonight. Worst RB draft EVER Drafted: Favre, Rex Jackson, Betts, T Bell, Morency, Hunt Fitz, Coles, Hacket, Clayton Gates Gostkowski Pitt Now: Bulger, Schaub Jacson, MaGahee, Watson, Faulk, Thomas Fitz, Coles, Hacket, Henry Gates Gostkowski Pitt
