  1. Or we could follow the continuing saga of Tiger Woods . I'm sure that'll go on until at least draft day.
  2. I'd like to see the 49ers go after Ryan Fitzpatrick and go defense with their first pick. I just do not have faith that Shaun Hill can get the job done.
  3. I wanna say my beloved 49ers but as long as the Yorks own the team I think the Detroit Lions have a better chance of getting to 6 superbowls before San Francisco does. So I guess I'd have to say Dallas would be the next team to win 6 superbowls if Jerry Jones gets the hell out of the way.
  4. Money league with restricted roster of 2QB's, 4 RB's, 4 WR's, 2 TE's, 2 PK's and 2 DEF. Mybacks are Addai, ReggieBush, Ryan Grant and picked up LeRon McClain. Brandon Jacobs is available on the waiver wire. I know, it's an 8 team money league but we have a $500 entry fee so the prize money is sweet. So, do I keep McClain who's a FB but has put up decent points yet still has McGahee who's the actual starter but hurt or pick up Jacobs who hasn't quite turned up the production yet. Will gladly answer any of your questions.
  5. I see there's a team called Hagerstown True Rednecks. Reason I say this is I'm from Hagerstown, Md. Curious to know if this person is from there also. I'd like to talk with them. Hagerstown True Rednecks, if you read this post please contact me at DocNiner52@aol.com or DocNiner54@yahoo.com. If any of you talk to HTR could you please give him/her the message that I'm interested in corresponding with them and maybe talk about playing some FF locally where I live. Thanks guys. Good luck with your league this year.
  6. I thought they were automatically obligated by the NFL to take a WR withtheir 1st round pick.
  7. I understand Smith's had a different OC every year and even giving him the benefit of the doubt because of that I don't think he's the right QB for the Niners. Granted he could use better receivers. I just don't see DJax returning close to his Seattle days numbers and Battle is just servicable IMO.I'm waiting on VDavis to explode but not sure that'll happen anytime soon.I still have faith that Gore can do a better than average job. What I'd like to see is for John York to get the hell outta town. Never liked the guy and wish we'd get a new owner. One that at least knows football. Still undecided about Nolan. I say we wipe the slate clean with all the management and most of the coaching staff and start over. I would also go in another direction and look for another QB. The Niners and the Cowboys both have 5 SB rings and as it looks now it's highly likely that Dallas will get their 6th ring before the Niners. One bright spot this year is LB Patrick Willis. He should win Def ROY. The 49ers looked to improve greatly before the season started and things just didn't fall into place like we had hoped. My loyalty for the 49ers won't waiver but I think it's time to do some drastic overhauling.
  8. If Housh isn't a go for Sunday that really puts a damper on my choices at receiver. I'll be left to pick from Berrian,Bruce, Nate Washington(could be a sleeper with Holmes out) and Reggie Williams.I'm guessing Washington might be my best shot at some decent production.
  9. Even though it's Philly's defense I like Brian Griese out of those you listed. The last 3 weeks Griese posted 286yds/2tds,214yds/2tds,381yds/3tds. He also has had 6 int's during that 3 week span.I look for those to get fewer. If the QB you pick is going to be your backup the rest of the year I'd take Griese. I don't think Grossman will even get to sniff the field. You may even want to start Griese sometimes depending on his matchup. Another guy I like andwould take if I could be sure he'd be the starter the rest of the way is Vinny Testeverde. Carr's not the answer and won't be with the Panthers next year mark my word. Vinny stays in shape even if he's collecting social security I think he gives the Panthers the best chance to win plus gives Steve Smith's value a boost. So not yet knowing what Carr's situation will be I wouldn't pick Vinny up. Another guy I do like however is Cleo Lemon. No doubt that the Dolphins are gonna be behind in a lot of games so Cleo will have to put the ball in the air. Yes, his value is dimished somewhat with the trade of Chambers to San Diego. Booker becomes the #1 guy by default. Now, the Dolphins don't have much of a receiving corps but I still think Lemon will post decent numbers the rest of the way.
  10. Is Jacobs gonna be able to stay healthy for any period of time this year. Was kinda hoping to count on him since I have Travis Henry and who knows what'll happen with that situation. If Jacobs continues to have trouble health wise I'msure we'll see more ofWardand Droughns. I have a chance to get Kevin Jones at the expense of Jacobs. Jones has had his own health issues but by all accounts he's got the starting job back and could get 15-20 touches a game. Given Jacobs recent rash with the injury bug is KJones a viable replacement for him?
  11. First ,let me say it's a league with limits of the number of players you can have at each position. Roster limits are strict and must be adhered to throughout the season. Commish makes sure position limits are maintained. May sound like a strange league but it's very competitive as everyone has a good team. That's why it's important you keep the best that you can at each postion even through the bye weeks. Roster limits must also be maintained through any bye weeks. QB's- limit(2) RB's- limit(4) WR's- limit(4) TE's- limit(2) PK's- limit(2) DEF- limit(2) We have 1 team at (5-1), 1 team at (4-2), 3 teams(myself included) at (3-3) and 3 treams at (2-4).I play the team at 5-1 this week. My QB's are Derek Anderson(BYE) and Roethlisberger. I am definitely keeping Anderson but think I could do better than Roehthlisberger, especially this week since he's going against the Broncos. I'm looking to pick up a QB that has a good matchup this week and hopefully they'll be good enough to keep on my roster the rest of the way. Below I'll list the QB's that are available with their matchups of this week. I'd like to get opinions from you guys on who would be worth starting over Big Ben this week and keep on my roster the rest of the way with Anderson. QB's Available: 1.Marc Bulger(opponet- Seahawks)- originally drafted this guy but had to drop because of his injury and piss poor play of the Rams. When he's healthy he's no doubt the best of this bunch. He has had some good games against Seattle. Is he worth the shot at starting this week and keeping him? 2.Jason Campbell(opponet-Arizona)- decent matchup. He has been getting better. O-line worries me with injuries as well as his dinged up receivers(Moss,Randle-El.) I think they get some ofthe O-line back this week. Only has 5 td's so far. Already had his bye. 3.David Garrard(opponet-Colts)-averaging over 200 passing yds. a game with 6 td's so far. He has 131 yds. rushing.Kinda see him being a vanilla QB but he has been consistant. Goes against Carolina,Pittsburgh and Oakland weeks 14,15and 16. Not sure he has a whole lot of upside. 4.Duante Culpepper(opponet-Chiefs)- Had a good game against his old team the Dolphins but not sue he'll be repeating those numbers anytime soon. Is he gonna get better and last the whole year or do we see Russell once C-Pep has his first real big flop game. 5.Brian Griese(opponet-Eagles)-His first 3 games were 286yds/2tds,214yds/2tds, 381yds/3tds. Not a bad start even in spite of a few int's. If the Bears could run the ball he might even be better. He has some good matchups ahead and really only two games agianst tough pass D's(Wk.12 Broncos,Wk.14 Redskins). I don't see Grossman getting back in if Griese continues his play. I think he has potential yet this year to be a decent QB fantasy wise. Others to cosider but Idon't see that much upside or long term potential for the rest of the season. Kurt Warner, Chad Pennington,Vince Young(could be the exception), Damon Huard, Cleo Lemon, Trent Edwards Hope this hasn't been too long. If it has, sorry. So, I'd like to hear from some of you with your opinions on my situation. I value objective, subjective and even critical viewpoints and opinions of the people who post and reply here. So, who'd be your best pick at QB for this week and with a good shot at putting up decent fantasy points the rest of the season? Or would you just take your chances with Ben Roethlisberger going against the Champ Bailey-less Broncos this week. Thanks very much to those who respond.
  12. I will be 56 in January of 2008.
  13. I think the Vikes are gonna find themselves playing from behind a lot this year, no offense Mike's Vikes. Somebody has got to catch the ball. Reports I've seen say Jackson has a strong arm but can he turn that strength into completions? Bobby Wade doesn't excite me. Had Williamson in a dynasty but dropped him. I like Sydney Rice but he'll probably take a few years to develop. Jackson definitely needs a few years to develop. While he's doing that he'd better realize that a TE can be a very important asset and use Shiancoe as much as he can to grip some confidence. Kleinsasser's still around but Vishante will be the starter. Unless TJax and Shiancoe develop some major chemistry I don't see anything more for him than 25-30 receptions, 200 yds and 2 td's. I like Vishante mainly because he's getting a chance to be the starter after being buried beneath Jeremy Shockey for 4 years and I'm optimistic he'll do a lot better next year. Yes he could surprise a few people this year possibly and I'm hopeful he'll put up better numbers than I had for him, but right now I wouldn' tuse him as a bye week replacement unless it was a sweet matchup.
