  1. Thanks, guys! You definitely confirmed what I was thinking. Pulled the trigger this morning, so hopefully this will get me out of this early hole in.
  2. Been offered the above trade in a 12-team, non-PPR, standard scoring league with points for return TDs and 1/20 return yards; we start 2 RBs, 3 WRs and a flex. Bush is currently slotted as my flex; I've also got Rice, Best, Sproles and Fred Jackson at RB and VJax, Wallace, Mike Thomas, Burleson and Greg Little for my other WRs. I'm inclined to do the deal because it'll leave me with three top-15 WRs with only a slight drop-off at RB, especially because I'm not convinced Reggie Bush is a long-term solution at RB, but it seems almost like I'm getting too much in return. Am I over thinking this one? Thanks for your input!
  3. I think I'd still start Favre. He's been doing well, and even with the tough matchup, he looks better than Hasselbeck minus Branch. Hasselbeck more or less collapsed after Branch got hurt, and you know Favre's going to have to throw no matter what because GB has no running game. I wouldn't pick up Taylor; he hurt his groin in practice and may not play. As for Graham, he did next to nothing against Indy, and Tennessee's actually allowing fewer fantasy points to opposing RBs than Indy is. I might actually give Stallworth a shot; it's anyone's guess who's going to see the end zone in any given week, but Stallworth was a bigger part of the offense last week against Cleveland since they double covered Moiss. He's got more potential to perform than anyone else on your team, and Dallas isn't a tough matchup against WRs. Good luck!
  4. Go with Schaub. He's a better QB than anyone else on that list of potential pickups, and a more talented player against a tough matchup is more likely to do well than a poor player with an average or good matchup.
  5. iLounge has a fairly comprehensive buyer's guide available for download on their site. I seem to remember them liking the JBL speakers; the Creatures in particular are inexpensive and provide good sound.
  6. As a commish, I have no problem with him sitting SJax if he wants to cement the victory. But unconditionally. You make the decisions you make with the information you have at the time; that's the whole point of FF. I mean, it's no different than if he said, "Yeah, I want to start Fason unless he gets less carries than Pinner, in which case I want to start Dayne." There's no way the rest of the league would stand for that, and I'm actually kind of surprised that they're not freaking out about this because it sets an awfully bad precedent. If it was my league, then I would say start him or sit him, because those are the rules. There are no rules allowing conditional starts, and it's not fair to introduce them at this point in the season.
  7. I think anything that got Parcells off the field sooner and home to punch things in private was probably a blessing for him at that point...
  8. I need my 38 point lead to hold up against Bulger and Holt with .5 points per completion, 1 point per reception, and 6 points for all TDs. It's gonna be a squeaker...
  9. $100 is way too much. Amazon has the Game Boy Micro (GBA in a different case, essentially) for $70 and the GBA SP for $80: http://www.amazon.com/Advance-Micro-Silver...F8&s=videogames http://www.amazon.com/Game-Boy-Advance-Pea...F8&s=videogames If you're talking about the Nintendo DS, that'll run you closer to $130: http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-DS-Lite-Pol...F8&s=videogames But for a 6 year old, the Game Boy should be more than sufficient.
  10. A few months ago, I had an hour-long argument over the phone with my parents (who are usually fairly savvy about technology) when they got their HDTV because they insisted that they were getting HD programming despite the fact that they were still using the same box that they'd had for the last several years. Finally, after a couple of weeks, they decided to call the cable company who (surprise!) said they needed an HD box. Lo and behold, my mom calls me soon after that and says, "Yeah, this looks a whole lot better than it did before..."
  11. How is that going to help? Isn't that going to wipe away whatever self-condifence he has left?
  12. Let me guess; the owners who were complaining are the same ones who would have benefitted from him starting a QB this week, right?
  13. Well, when your QB only throws for 35 total yards, it's fairly safe to say that his receivers and tight ends aren't going to be putting up big numbers either...
  14. If he submitted a lineup, then that's what you need to go with. It's his responsibility to check his lineup for completeness before the games start, not yours. Let's put it this way: Let's say that he submitted a lineup with McNabb as his QB the week after he went down with the ACL injury. Would you leave the lineup as-is or would you substitute another QB? Because this is essentially the same situation. I'd be willing to bet that you'd chalk it up to him not paying attention and leave it as is; that's the same thing you should do here. He should just consider himself lucky that he wasn't fighting for the last playoff spot...
  15. Lovie would still have to be nuts to make a QB change, though. It didn't help Denver at all, and if he benches Rex, he can't go back later and say, "Oops!" Besides, making any changes at this point is admitting that there's a problem, and as long as they can keep pulling out these insane wins, then there's no reason to do that. Besides, Rex has been in the league for four years but he was hurt for most of that time as opposed to playing or at least on the sidelines studying, so he's still essentially a rookie QB, and rookie QBs run into trouble once their opponents get a few weeks of tape on them. Even with Rex, though, they could easily make it at least as far as the NFC Championship, maybe even the Super Bowl, given their remaining schedule and the competition they're likely to face in the playoffs. Chicago's schedule for the next four games is @STL, TB, @DET, GB. They could easily win at least three of those games with just their defense. And assuming they do clinch the #1 (or even the #2) seed, then who are they going to play after their bye week? Seattle? New Orleans? Or, if there's an upset in the first round, the Giants, Atlanta or Carolina? It'd be close, but Chicago could probably beat any of those teams playing the way they're playing now. It's only once you get into the NFC Championship, where they'll likely play Dallas, or in the Super Bowl against any given AFC team, where they'll really run into trouble.
