Oh, well that is a lot to go on. A cement pond. thumbs_u

Don't give us the lay of the ground and how much dirt you need to remove. Is it going to be just a round hole in the ground or are you looking for something nice with fountains etc.?

Could use the scoring rules and line-up requirements there, Polk. :P

Dont do it! Move into a neighborhood with a community pool. Much easier, and your home's re-sale value will be better, because most folks dont want the inconvenience of having to maintain a pool..

I agree with Spain, we had one put in about 15 years ago and although it was great for the kids and get togethers, now I just want to have the **** thing ripped out and the hole filled in. Its just one more thing to take care of.

Uh, Whitey Spain, I know up north you have vast stretches of honkies, here in the south the community pools are good recruiting grounds for the aclu.

Sky, never minding the dirt work, how about something 8 feet deep 30 feet long and 20 feet wide with a slide, nothing too fancy.

Okay, forgetting the dirt removal, how thick do you want the sides and bottom?

You might want to try here since you are an engineer and can figure things of this nature out, right?

http://www.build-aid.co.za/concretefacts.htm

computer Pay particular attention to paragraph headed:

How much concrete do I need.

"To work out how much concrete you need you first need to measure the volume of the space you are going to fill."

That is as much work as I am going to do on this. I have to go pack. biggrin.gif

The real answer: Hundreds of hours of your time and even more in upkeap. Those dimensions are exactly the size of my family's pool when I was a kid. Chemicals, filter, pump, liner, cleaning the **** thing, it never ends. LOL, unless you plan on having a pool boy...
