Hey, don't blame me, that's according to FF Index. Got their annual mag yesterday and was shocked to see Smith ranked so high.
Other interesting rankings: #17 RB - Fred Taylor #19 RB - Marshall Faulk (they're figuring 5 games lost due to injury) #23 RB - Quentin Griffin (ahead of Kevin Jones, Bennett, Suggs and CuMar!! FYI T. Bell is #34, M. Anderson is #49, and Hearst #53) #28 RB - Thomas Jones #43 RB - William Green (Suggs is #25) #46 RB - Tyrone Wheatley (highest ranked Raider RB is Fargas at #40) #3 WR - Santana Moss (whoa!) #16 WR - Chad Johnson (below Jimmy Smith, for crying out loud!) #31 WR - Amani Toomer (obviously they're not big fans of Warner or Manning) #32 WR - Plaxico Burress #39 WR - Peerless Price (healthy Vick and the new offense won't help much in their view) #51 WR - David Boston (wouldn't surprise me, but still amazing to see him this low) #59 WR - Marcus Robinson Those are the names that jump out at me. QB and TE rankings don't seem to have any huge surprises. |

I like when people make picks against the grain. S. Moss at 3 is high though. I only have him at 4. wink
Smith is quite a bit high, but the one there that I think is really and ridiculously out of line is CJ at 16. He's just too good to be kept down that far. -------------------- You got to get up before you get down.

Are you sure the date on that magazine isn't from June 1999?

QUOTE The Irish Doggy: Me too. It's refreshing when people are willing to think outside the box. Doesn't mean I agree with their thinking, but I appreciate a little boldness and less slavish attention to what everyone else thinks. Of course, when you put your neck on the line, you gotta be ready for the people who will line up to stomp on it.

Thats all well and good, but the real question is........
How did they rate the kickers??? -------------------- Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

The amazing thing is NOBODY else even has Rod Smith sniffing the Top 10, let alone the #4.
I wonder if they're sniffing printers ink at FF Index. Most other magazines and fantasy football sites have STEVE Smith ranked hire than that old codger Rod Smith. I contemplated buying FF Index until I saw the nonsense about Rod Smith. |

everyone is down in Boston...
but call me a sucker...I'm buying into the fact that his "fashion" contacts have altered his depth perception and affected his performance... I've heard about this before....and I wouldn't be surprised to see his numbers fall off due to something so stupid... people say he's too big....but he was still huge in AZ when he lit it up...whats the difference now?.... playing physical is his game... -------------------- |

I couldn't resist buying a magazine when I first saw them on the racks. I got FFGuru.com Magazine and I was actually fairly impressed. Still, I think I'm going to use my will power and refrain from buying any more mags.

Wow, I'm surprised to see that as well. Their rankings have been pretty reasonable over the past few years. I usually pick up a copy of The Index every July for the hell of it, but perhaps I'll refrain this year.
-------------------- "We buried virtually everything tonight: We’re built to play in a dome indoors. We can’t play in bad weather. We can’t play on grass. We can’t stop the run. We can’t play against people who are bigger and tougher than we are. We’re too small. Peyton Manning can’t win the big one. Tony Dungy can’t win the big one.”
