Most fans, most owners, and most players are getting put in to the middle of something they have no interest in being a part of. If you love football and stop watching because of the protests, you are allowing yourself to be victimized. You are letting them win. Ain't no one taking football away from me. I'll give you my remote when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.

I don't feel sorry for them at all. I hope they don't win a single game and Dean Spanos catches crabs.

Wow, no wonder everyone hates you pats fans, logistically impossible for you to have a discussion without name calling and being aggressive and obviously taking a joke. Let me break it down for you a little bit so maybe you can chill a little champ. The reference to the refs was made because of a lot more than just the Titans game, it's been a running joke and theme in MULTIPLE media outlets ( surely not boston) and been a running joke around here for a while. Secondly, my statement about the NFL praying for the Pats is 100% based on Viewer interest for the game. Relax and stop being a 3rd grade baby with your name calling

I have never seen a President so hell bent on dividing people instead of leading them to value and respect one another's opinions. This 70 year old man child feasts on conflict which is exactly what this world needs less of. I sincerely hope people are paying attention and realize how one vote can put and entire country into purgatory. Hell I just want to watch football. The SOB twitter troll who started this should be fired for incompetence, dereliction of duty, and dumbasserdry. He'll go down as the worst President in U.S. history. That is if we survive the coming wars he's about to start with his stupidity and ignorance. Amazing how one man has found a way to piss off every segment of America accept Hillbilly Alabama. Honestly, it's like he looks for opportunities to piss people off. Truly amazing for the supposed leader of the free world.

I predict he'll deliver a baby on a bus on the way to stadium, run for 300 yds, catch 15 passes, score 4 tds and give cpr to a heart attack victim in the stands at halftime saving their life.

Totally indefensible move - and I have zero love for Eli. I would fire McAdoo immediately. Whatever problems they have, substituting Geno for Eli solves none of them. This guy won you 2 super bowls. The amount of disrepect here is hard to understand.

You can't distinguish true addiction and lack of willpower because they are inclusive. For most addicts, it takes the loss/suspension of their job, troubles impacting their lives, loss of friends and family support and the loss of the ability to make rational decisions to even realize they are addicts. We are not talking about the social user here. When you keep doing things, knowing the consequences and disregarding those consequences, you have a problem. Having the willpower to say no to your addictive abuse is only a small percentage of the ingredients needed for a lifestyle change. Only when one succumbs to the fact they have no control over their addiction, will they have the strength to muster the willpower to end it. Other than that, it's pretty much all "smoke and mirrors" and manipulation to continue further with their destructive lifestyle.

Kaepernick (and others) was already kneeling before he was elected. Divide was already present, the pres and the media just have a knack for exacerbating it. Funny thing is both sides are currently valid. The players have the ability to this form of protest while working because their contract has no rules against it and fans have the right to withdraw their support and money. Yet here we are just continuing on about how this side or the other is wrong and throwing blame on one person or another for divisiveness. Very much seems like the pot and the kettle at this point. I'll get out of this threads way though...

This is the critical problem with politicians, of all persuasions - they try to inject themselves into every aspect of daily life and turn everything into a political decision, or a political commentary. How far are we going to take this us v them insanity? Enough is enough aholes - we're all trying to be socially responsible and respectful but at the end of the day all we want to do is WATCH FOOTBALL.

The uproar isn't about whether or not Eli should be benched. It's about how poorly it was executed, how poorly it was communicated, and at the end of the day, Eli's play has been the least of their problems. The whole thing is bizarre, and makes it clear that the Giants' front office doesn't really have a plan. Their drafts have been largely disastrous, and this debacle is just one more nail in the coffins of both the HC and GM. It would be one thing if they benched Eli to see what they have in Webb. But, they (the NYG) admittedly haven't given Webb enough snaps in practice to play him at this point. Which, in and of itself, is pretty hard to understand. Your season has been a loss since basically September, you want to see what you have at the QB position (besides Eli), but it never crossed your mind to maybe give the rookie some playing time on the practice field!?! So, instead, they will trot out a known commodity (Geno), which really does nothing for the franchise (other than make them look like more of a laughingstock than they already were). Add to all of that the fact that Eli wasn't notified by the owner or GM (he found out from the head coach, who is clearly a dead man walking, in way over his head, etc.), and I could see why Eli would be disappointed to say he least. He's the consummate team player/professional, and the inference that the team might be better of with Geno Smith (!?!) starting at QB is a slap in the face. And their "plan" was to let Eli play a half (to extend his streak), then bench him at halftime? WTF would be the benefit of that?

Most NFL owners are politically conservative and believe everyone should stand for the anthem. 7 NFL owners donated $1 million dollars each to Trump's inaugural committee. They stayed out of the anthem issue for as long as they could. They would have preferred to have ignored the issue and hoped it would have gone away. But they really had no choice but to respond considering how important the issue is to the players and how important the players are to them. The owners clearly had planned what their response would be if/when Trump finally attacked. There was little division among owners this past weekend. The responses that owners gave were very well written and extremely persuasive. It is not the owner's responsibility to dictate political views for their players. The original European settlers in this country came here because a person could believe whatever they wanted in this country without fear of retribution. It is so sad that Americans who consider themselves patriotic are so intent on forcing their beliefs on others.

If teams is really in that bad shape you should waive the fee for the team this year. However, if he wants to trade any assets that affect next years draft then fees are due up front for that year. I find it mind boggling that in an 8 team 3 keeper league that any team would be that bad. Only 24 people are being kept (at most), any team owner can overcome that. Personally I'd find someone who doesn't flinch at $20, cause really? $20? Waste that on 2 beers at a bar, stay in and watch Netflix one night.

Tell them they can either figure it out themselves or you will just find another owner to take team 1 and they can either co-manage team 5 per the original agreement or both get bent. People making a stink on something like this in year 1 aren't worth keeping around and they definitely aren't worth capitulating to.
