Full Version: Starting requirements?

I had started my draft based on the idea that we went by the starting requirements listed in this rules thread.

Starting lineups

1 QB
2 RB
3 WR

1 TE
1 K
2 DL / 1 DE and 1 DT
3 LB
3 DB / 1 CB and 1 S required, 3rd can be either.

But in the Draft begins now thread, it list a different set of starting requirements.

Each Week we start 16 players, with a flex on offense RB/WR and defense with a flex S/CB

1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 RB/WR Flex

1 TE
1 PK

1 DT
1 DE
3 LB
1 CB
1 S
1 S/CB Flex

I can work around it, but since this is going to be published, could we clarify which set we are going to use? g-shrug.gif

Very legitimate concern. I'd imagine Slick will be a little upset if the first rules thread is correct -- as I suspect.
SteelBunz
Zia......these rules have always been..2 RBs/2WRs....and 1 flex RB or WR.

That is exactly how it was last year in the inaugural year. g-shrug.gif

How did it get stated differently....and where?

Rules thread.

Nevermind.....I see it now.

Sarge made a miscue.....or a mistype. He should have been more clear to those of you joining us for the first time this year.

It IS.....2RBs/2WRs....and 1 flex....either RB or WR only.
That is why our rosters must have 5 of each on them.

Most everyone ran with 2 RBs and 3 WRs for the most part, Zia....taking two top WRs @ 2.12 and 3.01 is NOT going to hurt you in the least! Those were nice picks.

That's not what I heard. I thought it was firmly 2RB, 3WR in last year's Handbook league. g-shrug.gif

Hmmm.....I was almost positive we had a flex RB/WR..... g-thinking.gif

Wonder if I'm mistaking the HAG league. unsure.gif

No, I know that. But I figured 6, maybe 7 rbs at the most would be gone by the time it came to my next pick. No I am looking at double that amount.

Like I said I can work around it, but the original thread said 2 rb, 3 wr and there was not a single lineup last year that used 3 rb. Not trying to be a boat rocker here, just I figured since that what was used last year AND posted in this years thread, thats what we would do.

I dont mind if most of the huddle thinks I am a complete idiot, just not sure I want the whole FF world to think the same. laughing.gif

As I said before, the "boat-rocker" might be slick. I'M not trying to rock the boat FOR him, but if I were him, I'd be a little upset that my 3rd-round pick will only start on bye weeks. Just a fact. g-shrug.gif
SteelBunz
I didn't think you were boatrocking.....lol.

It's a great question....I didn't even look at the other thread before.

The other question I have is....last year it was a requirement to draft at least one rookie. Are we keeping to that this year?
Swiss Cheezhead
And, yes, I had Dunn and Droughns pre-selected with MY 3rd-rounder, too, under the impression there was a flex RB option. smile.gif

He must be at lunch.....
Down Goes Frazia

OK we got issues here......... first of all last year there was no flex..... I just went back in the set-up options on the 2005 site.

1QB - 2RB - 3WR - 1TE - 1K

g-coach.gif no flex.

2nd of all I'm drafting right now with the understanding that we only start 2 RB's..... not sure what we need to do here. unsure.gif

the rules thread was posted LONG BEFORE the other thread and is what I thought we were using.

this may get dicey..... because there's clearly some teams drafting according to one set of rules & others to the different set.

last year we drafted AFTER all the rookies had been loaded in the MFL database...... this year obviously before. I believe sarge said that we do NOT need to draft a rook...... but if you choose to..... pick up a scrub & name the person you want in the text line.

OK....but that isn't exactly my question.

Last year....we had a requirement of at least one rookie per team. Regardless of them being in MFL or not.....is this again a requirement this year?

Rookies are already loaded in the database.

On a different topic, I'm on the clock, but I won't pick until the lineup issue is resolved.

Thanks Frazia. Could we give Slick the option to keep his last selection or make a new one, since only 1 pick has been made since? g-shrug.gif
Swiss Cheezhead
I picked Gates, since I probably won't be on the computer for the next few hours and I decided Gates was the right pick regardless of the lineup requirements.

I agree with this idea -- and I'd be fine throwing Gates back into the player pool, if necessary.

He's been offline for awhile - I was going to PM him. He'll most likely check here before doing anything.

So, what was decided about the Flex position? Do we have a flex or not? This will greatly impact one of my picks.
Sgt. Ryan
I screwed up, getting my leagues confused.

my bad, 2 rb 3 wr, draft is stopping until Slick is contacted. and can repick, but not at the expense of the 2 picks made after
Sgt. Ryan
draft is back on. posts have been corrected.

2 RB and 3 WR starters every week.
gilthorp
Did I already say "Oh Crap"?

I read flex....there's always something about this league and my round 5 pick. laughing.gif
