I drew the third choice of picks, and took the third draft slot, knowing I'd be getting one of the "top 3" RBs and would have the best pick out of the top 3 drafters in the 2nd and subsequent even rounds. LT and LJ went ahead of me, "leaving" me with Shaun Alexander. Let's just say I was happy to take him. With tons of RBs flying off the board, Peyton Manning somehow fell to me, so I pretty much had to grab him at 2.10. I took my 2nd RB with tons of upside, Chester Taylor, in the 3rd. I'm hoping my backup RBs are decent bye-week fillers. I decided to wait on WRs; the studs were long gone, and it's my feeling that many of the remaining WRs were extremely inconsistent. I ended up with a solid starting trio of Laveraneous Coles, Jerry Porter and Drew Bennett. I was able to land the new #1 in Jacksonville, Ernest Wilford, late in the draft, and supplemented my WR corps with Chad Jackson, who will catch plenty of balls from Tom Brady. I landed top-10 TE Chris Cooley, and backed him up with a solid rookie playing in the Ram juggernaut offense, Joe Klopfenstein. My defense is anchored by 3 stud LBs (a system that worked for last season's winner): Mike Peterson, Odell Thurman and Jeremiah Trotter. My backups have some upside. My D-line is anchored by Jason Taylor, but I'm a little thin past that. Hoping Rocky Bernard will continue to rack up sacks for the Seahawks. My defensive backfield is solid, mixing in guys that will be running the Cover-2 scheme and some young talents. Overall, I have to be happy with (conceivably) the #1 QB and #1 RB as well as three stud LBs. If I get some consistency from my WRs, this should be a very competitive team.
Edit:
