Waiver Wire:

IR
If MFL can accomodate, I would like to see that no player can go on IR that isn't listed as Out or Doubtful for that week.

Scoring:
All TD's = 6 points

Rushing Attempt = .2 points
Rush Yard = .06 points
Reception = .6 points
Receiving Yard = .06 points

Passing Yard = .03 points
Int = -1
Fumbles Lost (-2)

Points Allowed 0 points (10)
Points Allowed 1-6 points (7)
Points Allowed 7-13 points (4)
Points Allowed 14-20 points (1)
Points Allowed 21+ points (0)

All Other Touchdowns not covered by the above rules = 6 Points. This includes, but not limited to...
...The McCardell Rule: if an offense suddenly becomes the defense, and then scores a TD, by your starting that D/ST, you are awarded the six points.

Waivers:
Waiver Rank:
Waiver Rank will be done by assessing which team has the worst won/loss record down to the best won/loss record. Worst gets first dibs on the Wire. For the first week, the Rank will be set in reverse order of the draft.

Waiver Schedule
Waivers will run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. From Thursday through roster submission is a Free Agent Period where no ranking is necessary for your claim to be processed. You will immediately pick up the player you've requested. However, the dropped player does go to Waivers and he sits there for two days.

Free Agent Signings may take place during Playoffs.
Teams not in the Playoffs may NOT make moves during the Playoffs.

Trades: are allowed.

Any player you trade can not be reacquired by the original owner, except by standard waivers, for a period of 6 weeks

Playoffs:
1. Free agent pickups will be allowed through the end of the Season.
2. Teams not in the Playoffs may NOT make moves during the Playoffs. You are not playing, you have no need to make moves.
3. 8 Teams make the Playoffs. The top team in each Division and 4 Wildcards.
4. Wildcards are decided by
a. Best Record
b. if two teams tie for best record than it goes to head to head Record between those two teams.
c. if two teams are tied and split their head-to-head series, the tiebreaker then goes to best division record.
d. Three way ties will go to the Team with the best head to head winning percentage against those three teams. Winning percentage is total wins divided by the total amount of games played against each other.

Playoff Tiebreakers:
1. Head to head between the two teams
2. Division record
3. Total points scored
4. Total points scored (head to head only)
5. Total Bench Scoring

IR RULE:

You can not activate a player in the same week you put him on IR.

You can not put a player on IR in the same week you acquired him.

If you don't activate a player on IR the week after he has stats you lose him.

A player qualifies for IR by being listed as OUT or DOUBTFUL on the official NFL injury report.

Suspended players are not allowed to go on the IR. They are not on their team's IR so they shouldn't be on yours.

Money: 75% to League Champion, 25% to Second Place (loser of Championship Game)

I think that's all. Let me know if you need clarification or if I've left something off

Not trying to be a troublemaker but I have two questions

- I agree with the roster and bench requirements. But I'm curious where the IR stuff came from. It wasn't in the voting and I saw no discussion of it in the league forum. The inclusion of 3 IR positions seems a bit much. If we're going to use IR rules I think one position is sufficient. IMHO
Please clarify

- Regarding playoffs, I see 11 votes so far, 6 to 5 in favor of six teams making it, top two seeds get week 13 byes. Why has an eight team playoff scheme been put into affect?. Has there been some clandestine voting going on?. Please clarify

more votes came in after I put in the 8 team rule. I can have zooty put the 6 teams in.

As far as the IR rule, no votes were taken. It is something that I have in all leagues I play in to avoid stashing of players. We can change to one there as well.

thanks!

yeah not too familiar with the IR rule -- personally i would be more comfortable playing without it this year. anyone else have an opinion?

what about draft picks -- i guess these aren't tradable?
Jabberwocks
With just 5 bench players, I like having 3 IR spots.
abishagenaden
valid point, jabber.

I think 3 IR is a but too much also. I'd like to keep the FA pool as large as possible. It seems like we're gonna run into the same problem we had last year which is no quality players to pick up.

What you're overlooking is that a player has to be listed as OUT or Doubtful for that week for the player to be eligible for the IR. Very unlikely that you'll have 3 players in any given week that fits the bill. Even more unlikely is that all 16 Teams will be in that same boat...

My thoughts, as well.

Well, my local FFL uses an identical IR rule(we only allow one) and its the one rule that causes the most problems in the league.(one huddler, nine non-huddlers rolleyes.gif ) First off you may not have three players in one week fit the bill, but you start getting teams that have one or two players with long term injuries(2-14 weeks) and they get stashed. I think enough teams will fall into this category causing the WW to be a bit thin if we go with three IR positions. How often have you seen this posted at thehuddle...."Man, I can't believe how many injuries there are this season."
The main problem I see in my local is that when a player is downgraded from D or O, more often than not GM's in the league don't take care of the roster violation in a timely fashion. Meaning, GM's don't make the necessary roster moves in time to impact the WW for the upcoming weeks games. As the commissioner of that league, by rule, the only thing I can do is send an email to the offending GM and tell him to take care of his roster. I'm always getting emails from the vigilant GM's complaining about roster violations. g-bash.gif However, I have far more faith in the ability of BOTH league GM's to manage their rosters in a timely fashion when confronted with an IR move, so that doesn't concern me.
I'm thinking at least half the league, if not more, likes the idea of an IR position. But I think the number of IR positions needs to be voted on. One, two, or three IR positions is the question smash.gif Not wanting to overstep my authority I'd like to see a poll created by the commish or co-commish. Or just authorize me to create one.

And on the question of 6 or 8 team playoff scenerio, the poll is at 7-6 in favor of 6 teams. If the last three weapons would lock and load, and vote, we'd have a definitive answer. Is there a deadline for voting in that poll?.

I can create a poll for IR spots. Don't you worry about the playoffs, it's handled and it's 6 teams.

so are draft positions/picks tradable?

I think positions would be OK but trading individaul picks during a fast draft will be a nightmare dealing with the timer.

From our resident MFL guru (Zooty):
QUOTE

Trading picks will be a real pain especially if it is a real-time draft and the trade needs to be checked out while the whole thing is moving and on a 2 minute (?) timer. I guess if they wanted to swap their entire draft OK or certain picks PRIOR to the draft OK but otherwise it will be a pain to manage that while still keeping it moving.

If you'd like to take over running the draft and feel comfortable making all the moves mid stream, go right ahead, otherwise it's a no. Unless we do do the slow draft, then we can make that happen.
abishagenaden
aye aye.
