OK...draft is ready to begin at Midnight of the 31st/1st. Please everyone be courteous to each other and pre-draft a couple of players if you're leaving for a while. (I do not expect anyone to pre-draft a round ahead of time, and let's all try and be patient w/ each other...we have 5 weeks to go till it counts) If anyone is going to be gone for any length of time, a post on the message board (MFL website message board) would be nice to let us know "I'll be home at 6PM est" or something like that, so we're not all sitting around hitting "refresh" all day. Again please pre-draft when appropriate and feasable for you.

I have just been informed that I'm flying to Kansas City on the 2nd, and will be back on the 3rd late afternoon. I'll try and pre-draft the first couple of picks, but someone will have to call me probably at some point, and I'll take my sheets w/ me. Click on Uncle Johns Band link at MFL site to get my cell #. Any time is fine. I am not going to turn the draft timer (12 hours) on until I get back because I don't want to have to fix any problems upon return, and don't think we need it. You now have a few days until the 2nd to lady dog or moan about any of this stuff!!

Will the timer be turned off at night? Always a lady dog when someone from the East coast waits for their turn and then goes to bed at 10 pm, and then the West coast guys come in and pick, thereby giving the East coast guys only a couple of hours in the morning to get in their picks before the timer goes off...

MFL allows you to turn off the timer and I know in the league I commish, we turn it off at night from 9PM PST/12AM EST until 6AM PST/9AM EST. Works pretty well...just a suggestion

I agree w/ you on the east coast/west coast thing. I will probably turn the timer off from 2am till 6am or something along those lines, but to be honest w/ you...I really don't want to turn it on at all unless I have to. I'd like to get thru the first 3-4 rounds and see how it's going, then decide if we need to turn it on or not. 5 weeks is a really long time, especially if some of us pre-draft a lot ( I know Ray and I do, and have already seen pre-drafts at the MFL site under "reports/draft" from Huskies and someone else already). This will go just fine.

MFL has a message board and a bulletin board. I suggest we use the bulletin board to keep people up to date of went we will be back. We did this in another draft and it was great.

There's also a chat section in the live draft room on the MFL site...comes in handy...

Since I'm going to be at work most of the day tomorrow, and then have to fly to KC on Wed nite and Thurs morning, I started the draft timer about 7 hours early. No one is forced to pick if they don't want to, and the timer is not turned on. I simply wanted to get a few picks going to make sure there were no bugs in the system and that everything was working properly before I skip town. Hope no one gets upset, I just don't want to have any problems and it's only a few hours anyway. thanks and happy drafting!!

Sorry guys, I dont know what happened. I got up early, 7AM just to put in like 10 players, which would cover my first two rounds. I went to MTY DRAFT LIST, and put in almost a dozen players.....and it still didnt pick for me???

When it said it was my turn to draft, I satill had the same list of players to choose from that I picked.

Anyone know what I did wrong so it doesnt happen again?

You need to go to "for owners" and then "draft". If you go to "my draft list" instead of "draft" it's just a list, not a pre-draft function.

Note: IF the 12 hour timer was on and expired on you, the commish can set it to pick the next player from your "my draft list". I haven't done that yet obviously since the timer isn't on.

So glad my Dom Davis is already sitting out and getting his knee checked daily; Steve Smith is also "hammied" up; BOY THERE ARE GOING TO BE SOME UGLY TEAMS in this league...
