We gathered in the commish conclave and unanimously voted to change the rule about locking the lineups at KO on Sunday. From here on in, all owners will now be able to make lineup changes right through to kickoff of individual player's games.

Mid-season rule changes are extremely rare but we all thought this was the right thing to do.

Bunz got a bum deal there...may have wanted to wait until next season to change that rule...but I'm ok with it. I feel for Bunz though...sorta...she is still 1st in her division.... think.gif never mind I dont feel that bad for her laughing.gif

Bunz still won that game last week. It is mainly due to that fact that I voted to change the rule now. If she had lost, I would probably have voted the other way.
Down Goes Frazia

yeah she's 4-0 & got a bum deal. rolleyes.gif ... we had it set EXACTLY per the rules. shrug.gif

If she had lost last week... what would make it different ?

If she had lost, it would have been because of the correct way our league was set up, not allowing the substitution of Westbrook. It would have been impossible to have voted to change the rule now and allow others the opportunity to do what she could not. Since she won anyway, there was no damage done and it made it possible for us to change what I think we all agree was not a good rule.

fair enough..... you are the voice of reason. wink.gif

My point was more towards "bunz getting screwed" last week. We had our rules set correctly. not sure if anyone checked but someone in one of the leagues that had it set wrong could have gotten shafted if they lost to someone who was able to change their lineup on MNF.

"bunz getting screwed" shocking.gif - nice choice of words on a sunday morning. doh.gif shades.gif

Hehehe......omg.....I was JUST checking ALL my leagues' rules regarding locking players......and SAW this on the Gen Lost MFL page. Then found this post. unsure.gif

Even Fusion changed this rule this year.... shocking.gif Shocking to say the least....LOL.

Ay any rate.....I don't feel I got "screwed" either way. It was in the rules that way.....I just didn't remember that it was. But I also didn't know WHY we had that rule either. Even if owners screw up...you have to give them some leeway to set a lineup. And I do see more owner screwups when they have this choice. But hey...we can't manage everyone's teams either. shrug.gif

Locking lineups at 1pm Sundays used to be fine.....before MFL..when we did this by hand.....LOL. But in this day and age....it doesn't make much sense. pc.gif

At any rate....regardless of what happened last week....it's a good change. Otherwise....wasting draft picks on backups for just such an occassion seems a bit stupid. clap.gif

And...there are so many coaches playing the GTD card to keep other teams offbalance....that we end up getting screwed in FF. Have you noticed how many players have been labeled 'questionable' this year when it's a foregone conclusion that they will play? "Questionable" is supposed to mean a 50/50 chance of playing. Seems to me it's been ending up more like 80/20....LOL. rolleyes.gif

I'm all for the change.....and I would have been even if I lost last week. wink.gif

Good move, thanks. clap.gif

Thought I should bump this up.

It appears in the rules thread it still reads...* Lineups are due 5 minutes before kickoff of the first Sunday game.

Our MFL site is correct, thought maybe we should update the rules thread to reflect this??

Good call. At least we have the site correct. Rules are typically updated annually in the close season so this will get done then. In the meantime, all participants should know they can switch players out any time prior to their KO.

Oh....and strictly speaking, a lineup IS due before the start of the first game if you want to have any chance, as it's extremely rare to field a team with no-one going in the 1:00 ET games. wink.gif
