If we inject some life into this league next year (new leadership, live draft, spirited repartee), would you stay??

No. It's just that I'm through with FF.

Sorry to hear that, MF!

And just so y'all know... BC and I have discussed the league a bit, and have come up with a pretty cool concept. With me now in Texas, JoJo in Arizona, and one guy on our waiting list that's a Cali native but lives elsewhere (Bier Meister), we thought we could do three divisions: NorCal, SoCal, and Transplants. Division winners would get first round byes. Everyone else would be lumped and ranked 1-6 based on points. 1 would play 6, 2 plays 5, and 3 plays 4. Winners of those games would be ranked 1-3 based on points. Then, the division winners would be ranked 1-3 based on points and would play lowest-ranked wild-cards based on points.

Also, because BC will be increasingly busy next year with another Little Island on the way, it was suggested we have "division" commishes. BC could continue to commish the SoCal and run the site. I could take the Transplant division. We'd just need someone up north to handle procurement of fees, etc.

Personally, I bit off WAY too much this past season with all my leagues. I am certainly cutting one out (IBL), but I really would love to keep this one active.

Would love to hear thoughts on the above 3-division format and votes of confidence for keeping this thing going.

I'd like to keep this going as well and think that's a great idea with the 3-way ( think.gif ). I'll step up to the plate for the NorCal side but just to let you know, my wife and I are thinking about moving back to Austin next summer so I may be a transplant myself. Nothing definite yet but we'll be heading over there in early January to look at real estate...

Way to step up! clap.gif

BC, if you have too much on your plate, I'm willing to be the SoCal commish. Just let me know.

This would work, and I could stay on as the webmaster of the league.

If the idea pans out, it would give us a 3-headed commish committee that would could put our faith into to make decisions for the betterment of the league.

I'm in too. I do agree we need to bring some life back to the league though.
Maybe the new format can help. In any case, I'm in for 2007.

I'm in...... My team got pretty hot at the end, and I can only wonder where I would be if I had decided to start Brees instead of Eli earlier than about week 10. Might have actually made the playoffs. Rough year this year. A couple of leagues are still pending, but there is a very good chance that I might miss the playoffs in all seven of my leagues by a game or less (I've already missed on three based just on tie-breakers).

Also, Darin's sounds good to me.
JoJoTheWebToedBoy

I'm in either way.... Lousy Season this year (made the playoffs in my other 4 leagues) so I need to come back next year and defend my honor (whats left of it). Besides, If I didn't return I miss the Annual Beating of the Dane Week shades.gif

And if you ever need a co-commish for the Transplants I'd be up for that.
KC Crazy
I am out. Same camp as Meat Face. Thanks.

I'm in for next year clap.gif I'm gonna have to be after i win it all again this year biggrin.gif
The new format sounds great to me and my offer still stands for a draft here in NorCal.
ps-I echo Darin's comment on toooooo many leagues(9). I'll definately be dropping a few next year but i really would really like to see this one continue smash.gif
Big Country
I too am dropping a couple leagues next season, hopefully getting down to 3 plus WCOFF, maybe even just two plus WCOFF.

I will work on some basics regarding the divisions given the current knowledge of Meat an KC bowing out, and start generating a list of Californians and California transplants to put on an interest league.

I think that if we can get owners established and a draft date/location established earlier in the year it will be easier to maintain motivation. I think the live draft that initial year was a big boost, and maybe a post SuperBowl party/league meeting would be an idea we could float out there.

Will try work on specifics in the not too distant future, but feel free to start tossing out names of anyone that meets the criteria (Californian or California transplant) that may be of interest and we can discuss who we would like to invite and what the ideal number of teams, etc. would be so we can plan appropriately.
slambo
I'll be back.

Nice! Would be nice to have another Huddler here.

Give me a shout when you're planning on coming in January.

Sorry to hear you're shuttin' 'er down...

We'll continue to work on the inner workings of the league. Looks like we'll need some replacements, though.
