Last year we did not do the college draft until the regular draft was over (I believe), I would rather wait on the college draft.

Yes
Maybe this thread shoud be pinned at the top of the page so all can see it right away. With no picks made, I think that people are not aware that this draft is taking place.
I know I owe the first pick... I'm waiting on one bit of info from a college insider I know. Hopefully, tomorrow. That OK?

Juniors and Seniors only?
QUOTE(The Wolf @ 8/8/07 9:23am)

Juniors and Seniors only?
I thought we talked about that last year, but it does not seem to be in the rules. However, keep in mind you can only keep the player on your DTS for 2 years, including the year you draft him. So if you draft a Soph, and he plays both his Junior and Senior year, then he would be on your DTS his Soph & Junior Year, and he would have to be on your active roster his Senior year, which is not much help

Seriously, He's only a Junior, right? Gonk prolly checked to see if he was indeed going to come out this season.

You're both simple men, we need people like that. The info wasn't about McFadden.
I have only two other things before you wait for your meaningless college player pick...
1.

2. Until this season is over I am the ONLY champion this league has EVER seen.

Juniors and Seniors only, but what you have said above is not correct. But a player does not go on your DTS until the yr after you draft him. These players drafted last yr can sit on our DTS this yr, and we can use them in 2008. But if we do not use them in 2008, we lose them. So if you draft a Junior, and he plays his senior yr, that is your 1st yr on DTS, then you must sign him his rookie year. So Mike Hart is still eligible next yr for the team that drafted him, even though he is choosing to play his Senior yr.

What I said above is that if you drafted a Soph and he stayed for both his Junior and Senior year, then you would never get to use him.

So you are saying that the players we drafted last year, Hunt in my case, could be on our DTS this year (2007) and next year (2008) and then moved to our active roster in 2009? That is not consistent with what is written in the rules.

Wrong again McFly.,
The yr we draft a player, he is not on your DTS that yr. You said including the yr he was drafted. which is dead wrong.
IF you draft a Junior, and he plays his Senior Yr, he is on your DTS his senior yr, and must be used his rookie yr. If you draft a Junior and he comes out after his Junior yr, he can sit on your DTS the whole yr, his rookie yr, and must play his 2nd yr.
DTS doesnt start until the next yrs college draft. So every player drafted last yr, their DTS begins this year. We can activate them, or in Mike Harts case you leave them on DTS for the yr, and must activate them next yr.
College player rules, per vote.
1) College player draft occurs after the regular draft, in the reverse order.
2) Each team has 1 pick each year, seniors and juniors only.
3) Drafted college players go on to a taxi squad the following year, and can remain on the taxi squad 1 yr, before you have to activate them. The year drafted does not count as a DTS yr, as all players are still in school that yr. If you draft a Junior and they play their Senior season, that season counts as their DTS yr, and they are activated the next yr, in this case their rookie yr. If you draft a Senior or a Junior who comes out early, you can let them sit on your DTS 1 full season, before having to activate them.
4) a DTS player can not be used, until activated. Once activated their eligibility for your college player ends at week 16 of that yr. So if you activate a college player for the league playoffs, you burned their red shirt yr, AKA DTS eligibility, and they go back in the main NFL draft the next yr.
Modifed college player terminology for simplicity.

Either they can stay on your DTS two years, including the year you draft them, or they can stay on your DTS 1 year excluding the year you draft them.....which would be the same thing. Saying that they can stay on your DTS 2 yrs excluding the year you draft them would be something totally different, and would be inconsistent with the rules.

Right, and no one is saying that. I think we are saying the same thing, you just added DTS the yr they were drafted, which isnt practical, as none of these guys are even in MFL yet. So we start the DTS clock the next yr, where at least most are finally in MFL, to put on your DTS.
