I'm assuming most people would prefer a live draft if possible, and that it would probably need to start around 9pm EST to acommodate our west coasters. Generally we've done it a couple days before the first game, which would leave us Tuesday 9/4 and Wednesday 9/5 as the best options.
If a live draft is impossible, I think we will need to start a slow draft ASAP, given BM's honeymoon, vacations, and labor day plans.
Also, if we end up doing a slow draft, I may have someone in one of my other leagues interested in joining.
Opinions?

Mostly +1
I am really flexible....so I will try and work around others.
I'm good with either, but if i had to pick I'd go with the live option on the dates Nick suggested. I will be on vacation from the 28th through the 4th, but even then I should have some internet access.
The first week in September leading up to the first game will be very tough for me as I will proabably be starting my practicum and they will be mostly at night. So a slow draft would probably be best, however, I could do a live, on line draft if it were over the next couple of weeks. Also note that I am in California so it has to be at a west coast friendly time.
I am pretty flexible. I guess I prefer the slow draft starting sooner but I can make anything work.

I go on my honeymoon from August 18th - 25th, I will be unable to draft during that week.
Any other time before or after is fine with me. If people wanna get started drafting in the next few days, I can do that too
BM
I can do either, but if live it would have to be 9:00 EST or later. I am out of town on Aug 31-Sept 02. However, if slow Internet draft I could do it.
I think we are probably looking at a slow draft starting as soon as we can fill the 2 remaining spots (or decide to go with 10 teams). We may not get completely done before BM's honeymoon, but we could probabaly get a good chunk of it done by then.

Send a APB on all Huddlers and their friends that we have 2 spots open. THis shouldn't be too hard, right?

Did that this morning, but no response.
This must be the backlash from having people burnout after playing in 20+ leagues per season.

I have just found out I will also be mostly unavailable during thie same time period with a golf tournament. Hopefully, we can get it going earlier, or just wait til BigMike is back.

burnout? what burnout?
I'm thinking we should start rolling dem bones for draft slots now. That way we can be ready to start drafting fast if we decide to cut down to 10 teams in the next couple of days.

I don't know about this... IMO I find it's harder to get a couple more teams when you've already started to determine draft slots. For instance, if a few people have a high roll, prospective teams will be less inclined to join because thier shot at a top 3 pick will be diminished.
If we end up with 10 teams, I would like to up the fees to 125 to make up for the lost owners and revenue. I know that this may not be so popular, but I am throwing that out there now.

I'm not sure that we have a choice if we want to leave ourselves the option of starting a slow draft in the next few days.
I'd be for the increase in fees, but it would need to be unanimous.

Agreed. I'd just like to keep the payouts similar as if we had 12 teams. I'm not against a 10 team league, it's just not my preference.

I'm waiting for confirmation, but we may have another owner.
