I thought JaRaLa Jr. was in an interesting predicament. His keepers were Maroney for his 3.01 pick and Henry for his 13.01 pick. Both are projected to be top 10 or near to top 10 RBs this year by the Huddle.
So with the first overall draft pick could he pass on LT? Drafting LT means that with 3 picks he has only two starters. Would he try to trade down or would he take the projected best player in football? He couldn't pass on LT - 1.01 - LaDanian Tomlinson If all three players live up to their potential then this team is leaving lots of points on the bench.
1.02 - Steven Jackson is no surprise
My son really wanted LT then thought he could get Steven Jackson. I told him those guys would be gone. So he settled for a player that has been strong in the past. 1.03 - Shaun Alexander
I struggled with Brown vs Rudi and opted for the bigger rist higher reward player, Brown. If Cameron uses him like he did LT and Brown can stay healthy I will be a happy camper. 1.04 - Ronnie Brown
ROUND 1
1.01 - LaDanian Tomlinson
1.02 - Steven Jackson
1.03 - Shaun Alexander
1.04 - Ronnie Brown
1.05 - Reggie Bush
1.06 - Rudi Johnson
1.07 - Willis McGahee
1.08 - Adrian Peterson (R)
1.09 - Chad Johnson
1.10 - Steve Smith
1.11 - Terrell Owens
1.12 - Brian Westbrook (K)
9 RBS (1 keeper, 1 rookie)
3 WRS
As far as LT goes.... how can anybody pass on him. Knowing you have Moorney and Henry does not make you pass on LT.
Trading now for draft picks can turn questionable, because you don't know which direction the draft runs in.
Easiest decision, draft LT and trade player for player during or after draft. That way you know up front what your dollar is worth.
Don't think anybody would have done it differently.
And just so we are straight throught the draft.... Blitz why don't you change the team name of that team to KinsellaWin through the draft. Just so when he logs on, we know who we are talking to.

I didn't say it was right or wrong to draft LT ... just said it was an interesting predictament. With 3 picks this team has wonderful running backs but only 2 starters. In order to re-coup points that will currently be left on the bench this team will have to make a trade. Until that trade happens points will waste away on the bench (presuming all backs perform to expectations). Certainly LT + either of the other backs is better than the other backs without LT. It seems to me that now this team is trading from a position of weakness; i.e. the rest of the league knows that this team is in a position of needing to trade to fill out its lineup.
The margin for missing on a pick just went to zero.

1.05 - Reggie Bush
And at 1.05 the Quackerjacks also triple up on running backs with Reggie Bush.
You'd think we could start 3 RBs in this league. The Ducks lose the services of Larry Johnson next year and Ahman Green can't inspire a lot of confidence as a keeper ... so this is likely a move for next year.

1.06 - Rudi Johnson
dug makes his much anticipated 1st round selection by taking Rudi Johnson.
Seems a reasonable enough pick ... wonder if that is the actual player he anxiously waited all weekend to draft

1.07 - Willis McGahee
1.08 - Adrian Peterson
Big Palooka rolls with Willis McGahee at 1.07 ... If McGahee's legs can stand up and the Raven line can block ... this could be nice pick.
ABWF believes the Adrian Peterson hype and snags this highly touted rookie at 1.08.

1.09 - Chad Johnson
Tommy resisted the urge to get his first RB and took one of the top tier WRs, interestingly enough passed on what many believe is the top overall WR, Steve Smith,

can't pass up Steve Smith
StormChasers

Had Steve Smith been there I would have gone WR/WR for the first time ever in this league. But since Steel grabbed Smith I went with TO and Edge. As is always the case in BOTH leagues RB's are a premium and with Jones already limping arouond I wanted to solidify my backfield.

1.10 - Steve Smith
1.11 - Terrell Owens
And the run on WRs continues ... both fairly predicatable/reasonable picks.
And to round out the first round
1.12 - Brian Westbrook (K)
In round 1 ...
9 RBS (1 keeper, 1 rookie)
3 WRS
