Well, I really don't want to start a flame war or throw anyone under the bus here, but this taking a full day or two to make draft picks is more than a little absurd. I realize circustances arise and I myself have had difficulty one year making my picks in time (I was moving and having some fairly sizable troubles, btw), but I think each year we get worse and worse in this league and it's really only a few individuals that suck the life completely out of the draft.

Some do a great job of posting their schedules, so we as a group know when to check in, but man it's unfair to keep eveyone else waiting with no explanation. I for one feel guilty if I take a long time to draft, so I check in very regularly. I obviously have no vacation or things going on to hinder this right now, and I do understand when conflicts arise. However, it is hard to stay excited about a league where a few teams just don't seem to care one way or another and take forever every time their pick comes up.

Again, I am sorry for bringing this up and I consider a few of the owners we are having troubles with, very good people, but I am asking you to have some respect for the rest of us and do something about this.

Adrian, can we enforce the draft timer? Is that out of line? Am I being a d ick by asking for fairness?

i have been going through the sale of my condo in breck (an hour and a half from where i now live) and at work we are openning a new store (one day apart from each other).... i cannot tell you the level of stress we have been through. none-the-less, i have been checking in. i really think it just comes down to communication. we need to post anticipated times away from the comp. if i know supa has a "special" function in key west for a weekend that involves econo KY and assless chaps, i know i don't have to check in until he returns and gets the gerbil out. just common courtesy.

Mr. Green, I have serious questions as to how your brain works , but I do respect your ability to preselect and make the draft a priority. Tom, I think you are one cool cat, but for a commissioner and "hardcore" fantasy football guy, your drafting leaves plenty to be desired

I agree that we have to proceed after 24hrs. I understand the timer is off during the weekend so I would give Tom until 8AM Tues and then give his the top player on DraftSharks.

In my defense, I just want to say that I've been spending the last two days in the HIGH SIERRAS fending for myself trying to get home. The only thing I didn't get was frostbite!! Like so many others who's cars breakdown or they get lost in the wilderness. Luckily, I have some survivor sense and have been able to stick out the last few days in TIMBUKTUUUU!!!!

A few G's later I should be able to get home tomorrow!

For everyone else, I highly recommend putting contact numbers on the franchise information. These numbers are only available to league members with a password.

Thanks Adrian for turning the timer on. I believe this will allow us to finish the draft in a decent time and get a little urgency back into this thing. I can't friggin wait to draft another RB. WOOHOO!!! Adrian if you are traveling and need help with turning the timer on/off, can Mike do this?

I will be available to draft unless I am

1) called into a meeting unexpectedly
2) in my martial arts class
3) asleep
4) taking a dump. And then it depends on if I am at home or work, because I might bring the laptop at home.

Otherwise, I will check in regularly. The phone thing wouldn't help me, because I would not answer the phone under those circumstances

I had a similar experience years ago. Jeep broke down while towing a trailer over a holiday weekend. Both my pregnant wife and I had forgotten our cell phones. I left her on the side of the road and walked several miles to find no one in the nearest small town could work on the car and the tow truck operator was on vacation. Worst part of the experience, I missed my keeper deadline. Glad you had a good outcome Tom, you only got stuck with Gates.

I had my cell phone with me. But when you're in Timbuktuu........ it doesn't do you any good. There's no service there. I would've called Bear but it's kinda hard when the last number you have of his is the S.F. number and that one doesn't work any longer.

Anyhow, I'm home and I'm not going anywhere for a while.
