Everyone did a great job getting through 20 rounds in just over 5 days. clap.gif

Post here how you felt your draft went, and which other teams you like (and don't like).

I am one of those people that believe by having the first pick in the draft this year it's hard to have a bad team. LT should be such a difference maker over most other players, plus that first swing at pick #3, it just gives a nice advantage (along with the #2-#4 spots IMO). That said:

I like my team on paper a lot. The perfect team? Far from it, but in a tough league such as Bling, it's about as good as I could have hoped for heading into the season.

QB-- Brees. Saw the opportunity to grab either Brees or Brady and while I really like both, I like the upside of Brees slightly better. In any case, a top tier QB is not something I usually go for, but with the first pick in the fifth round I thought he and Brady were the best players on the board. Backed him up with Campbell and McNair. Nothing too spectacular, but I like Campbell as a fantasy back up this year.

RB-- Tomlinson, Lynch, and Peterson. The stud of the league and two big upside rookies. While I just need one of the rookies to perform, I think both will put up RB2 numbers and finish in the top 20 for RBs this year and will make a nice flex player. Bonus: Hunt looks like he could get a bunch of goal line carries.

WR-- Fitzgerald, Santonio Holmes, Calvin Johnson, Jerry Porter, Drew Bennett, and Roddy White. Probably my biggest concern. Beyond Fitzgerald a lof ot question marks. I suspect Johnson can put up big numbers this season for a rookie, but we'll have to see. At 7.01 I think he was a decent value pick for the risk. I see Ward taking a step back this year and Holmes taking some of his numbers away. With Porter, Bennett, and White I'll just keep my fingers crossed that 1 or 2 of them give me average fantasy numbers. If so, i think I'll be good. BIG if though...

TE-- While I would rather have a handful of other TEs, I am not all that unhappy getting Witten.

Def-- I like Pitt.

I think the analysis for my team is simple...

If Larry Johnson, Clinton Portis, and Thomad Jones all play and stay healthy, my team is boss. If they don't, it's time for Davey Jones' Locker...

Wow, where to begin. I really don't like my team. I think it all went to hell after I drafted Manning. I've never drafted him before, and wish I hadn't now. It's hard to put my finger on it, but Mannning is the scape goat. After Manning, I spent the rest of the draft trying to obtain a respectable WR core, and it Sega! on the rest of my team (Sega! rolls down hill). Lesson learned.

You can argue that it shouldn't be that hard to adjust, but for me, it was Not only do I not like the team I drafted, but I like the individuals very little as well. Maybe three players stand out as good picks for value, Heap at 6.11, Bruce at 9.02, and D Williams at 14.02. Ok, Sand diego at 11.02 wasn't bad at all. But jesus, the rest..? moon.gif

Who knows, maybe it'll kick ass, but I have my doubts. unsure.gif

As far as the rest of the league, I think for the most part that there's a lot of parity. If I was going to lay money down, I'd take the White Razors. If he can get a decent RB2 out of that bunch, look out. The WR core is 2nd to none.

Now, this is only on paper and anything can change, but I I think White Razors has more questions than most other teams. I agree about his WR slot. His WRs are probably one of the deepest in the league and he should have no problem getting 3-4 performers out of the bunch each week; however, his RB situation is pretty messed up. I like Rudi, but in a PPR he is one of the last guys I want as my RB1 and good luck finding a decent RB2 (Taylor or Rhodes, but would you want to count on them?) Palmer is a stud, but once again, I think he's counting a lot on one of his TEs stepping up. My money is on Olsen, but we just don't know at this point. Defenses are pretty medicore in Indy and Seattle, but probably won't matter too much.

The bottom line is that he may have the worst RB situation in the league and probably needs to trade some of that WR depth to be competitive.

And FWIW skycries, I like your team a lot outside of the WR slot. They are pretty weak, but I think you make up for it at all the other positions.

Yeah, I would agree, Razors needs something to really click with his RB's, a huge question for sure. But that WR core makes me druel. The other spots, yeah, maybe reaching abit.

We'll see what happens with my team, if something were to happen, like Henry really does break his sega, and M Bell steps up *JINX* and I don't have to rely on the WR's as heavily, then maybe... whacko2.gif

I kinda see a kindred spirit in your team because I too am counting on a lot of question marks in the WR position.

Remember, you can't have the best at every position, but I think you have it where it counts. The only real mistake IMO that you made in the draft is selecting Ward in the 4th round. I really think you could have had him at least 1 if not 2 rounds later. I think Ward just isn't a #1 fantasy WR anymore and there were several better available at the time.

I like my team, I don't love it. I am hoping it will compete. I think this league will be very competitive. A lot of good teams. I think Mookie's team has the most risk/reward and if the risk pans out could be championship. I think Apoc had a very well balanced draft and has a strong team that should produce week to week.

I should change my team name to the all-rookie squad. I'm pinning large hopes on Lynch, Peterson, Johnson, and Hunt. I didn't mean to do it that way, but that's how it shaped up. smile.gif

My team...first my team is based on risk and parody. I believe that as teams move more towards RBBC or two great backs, the value of WRs are going to go up and the value of RBs who are the sole runner will go up. Therefore, I built a team that will be able to field four WRs each week.

QB: Carson one of the top four QBs this year. Solid at this position.

RB: This position is ugly. I know what I am going to get out of Rudy. A few 6 to 9 point games to begin the year then I will end up with a few 20 point games to end the year. The guy gets most of his TDs at the end of the year. Every pass he catches is a blessing. Now the other guys. CT...AP will hit the rookie wall. CT will be good for 10-12 carries a game with 3 to 4 catches per game. I expect him to have 4-6 Tds this year. I expect Rhodes to be the man in Oak town after his 4 games are up. RD has a chance to steal carries away from BJ by the end of the year. Shipp is just a vulture...nothing more nothing less. If an injury hits either AP or BJ...I got an experienced guy who can and has the track record to get 1K yards.

WRs: I am blessed.

TEs: I like my group of unproven TEs. My sleeper for 2007-08 is Lewis. Dirk Kutter the OC for the Jags has had/made two great TEs while at ASU: Todd Heap and Zac Miller. He got his TEs lots of action. ML is that type of player but more explosive. I am seeing big things for him this year. EJ had two of the best games in FF History for a TE in 2004-2005. He went off. If he is healthy he is a force. Brees knows how to work it to him. Finally, I love drafting guys who come from a school where the guys in front of him have all produced. Shockey, K2 both stud TEs from the U...know Olson...late season player.

D's Colts...in Freeny I trust...and Seahawks...have some nice pieces on that D. Kearney, JP, MT, and LT...all players.

Ks: Graham and Brown...sick.

That is my team and the thesis of why I think I have a good team..but with so many WRs I will have big weeks and low weeks. I need a RB2 to step-up and give me 8-10 points a week from there.

Teams I like that are not mine:

Eric I think you have a solid 3Rb 3WR team. Solid QB, one solid RB and two very good backs one consistent WR (ward) and Edwards has to give you something...and you need one more guy to step up. After Gates...IMO the best TE. If you can get a WR2 to step up you will be in good shape.

Rockbottom Has some flexibility to run a 2RB 4WR set or 3 and 3. Hassy is nice at qb...with match-up ability if Cutler steps up. Personally I don't like any of the three main RBs...but they are capable of being 14+ points every week. Javon a big year. Plax...who knows where his head is. Crotch depends on Chad...I don't see him repeating...but who knows. the WR 4s on this team are excellent and deep. TE Shockey...the rankings say he is good...I don't trust him.

Zug Zug If Portis and Jones get healthy watch-out. Bulger legitimate shot at top 5 QBs. Bears D looks nasty and Hester looks like he is good for at least 4 returns this year. My questions are with WRs...Coles solid. DJax...can he stay on the field? If so...nasty! Finally you need Matt Jones or Troy to come into the 3rd year WR theory...if not you lack a legitimate consistent WR3 and depending on Djax's health a WR # 2

Big Mike
I don't like the team. He has the best QB situation bar none. However...RBs no one he has impresses me. TB O-line can't block, Lamont might lose his job once Rhodes arrives...aka Lane's boy, and Barber is a stud...but trapped behind JJ. However...Barber is still a stud...but not RB1 material. WRs SS and CJ awesome...however TG (nursing injuries and might start playing like She with the Tuna gone) and WR4 is just too uncertain. TE is not good. IMO you need to determine what type of set you are going to run and then draft that team.

Apoc I think you got guys who can get it done at QB...I hear what everyone is saying about Kitna...but we are talking about Kitna. Two games against the Vikes, Bears, and Pack and IMO they all have solid Ds this year...I am just not sure. RBs: Damn that is a group of backs that does not strike fear in you...until you start thinking about it and then your like DAMN. If the season started to day you have five number one guys...It is quite impressive. Betts can get it down so can TH, then we don't need to mention SA. However, lets I am not sure he is fit this year from the foot. The Madden Curse lingers people. If BJ learns pass protection the job is his...finally LenWhale was a stud at SC (proud Man of Troy here) but so was Mike Williams. Your running backs are like the girl in the Sienfield episode that looks awesome or horrible depending on the way the light strikes her...same with these RBs. WRs AJ is a stud...he won't do better than last years numbers b/c the team will be more competitive this year. He got most of his points in garbage time. I believe his problem was Carr he sucked. Colston...I don't trust this year and two MRIs don't bode well, however WR3 lots of good depth. TEs are nice. Depending on how the light strikes this team...

Theohiostate let me be frank your QBs suck. After that you got maybe the best balanced team out there. You have 4 RBs that give you a great rotation to play a 3 and 3 set. I like that. You have 5 WRs that I like that you can play. Now your WRs are boom or bust type of guys...but any given week...you could be nasty. Solid TE, K, and Ds. The most balanced team in the league IMO. Ok Ben doesn't suck that bad...but Joey and Madden Curse boy...who knows.

SteeltownD
this team needs past great backs to find their magic once again. Edge and Jamal Lewis...need to be great for you to have a chance. IMO I just don't see this team with enough firepower to win. Its a nice team LE will give you big games Roy should do his thing each week...but after that you are going to be running a 3 and 3, who is the third wr? Clayton or Devery? I see ghosts of years past dancing through my heads two names: Ashley Lelie and Quincy Morgan...circa 2002. Sorry I went there. Regardless, this team has some nice pieces...I am concerned about firepower.

Bill Graham
risk at QB with lots of upside. Reggie B is a stud...Fred Taylor will be a solid 9 point a week back this year (Avg) Ronnie Brown...who knows...I think that whole draft class is bustastic! Morency should be the starter in GB and his very skilled same with Leon. I like those two guys. WRs...behind me you might have the best starting 3 guys. Plus a group of guys to get yourself a fourth from. I like your TEs and Ds. Well done. I like this team. Still the QBs...are iffy...but upside for days. Plus NFC west has only two decent CBs...MT and NC and AS doesn't have to play against NC.

Miner Brady is my pick for having the best year at QB...but I picked Palmer b/c he will have to throw more out of necessity due to a bad D. Brady and crew will throw just to throw and preserve LM. You should be called the king of the back up running back. KJ's foot is still jacked Bell will do well...Dunn is the most disrepected player in FF...PERIOD. Deuce will get his, Brown may get the job from LenWhale. You have a lot going on here. TO and RW are the focal points of a nasty WR Corps. However, Galloway worries me. However, I have written him off for dead the last two years...I have to be true to myself and write him off again. I like the other WRs but you will need to see which one will rise up...right now I see low points coming from WR3 spot...plus Garcia has a weaker arm than Tim Couch so Joey's Vert routes won't be a reality. TEs are nice.

Mookie last years champ can he repeat? Solid at QB, LDT and Fritz. After that it gets murky. Not because a lack of talent AP and ML are studs in the making but are they studs straight out of College? Cal's last back, JJA on the cards...sucks! On the WR side...lots of potential but...TE same thing Zac is a Man speak on it...but with the Raiders...Too many questions surrounding this team.

Gary
Not a big fan of your QBs...but Romo could be nice. Maroney...stud...Norewood...no Vick...so Ds are going to stack the line and Dare Joey to win it with his gun...LOL. JN won't do that good IMO. I think Vick created the running lanes for him and warrick. Can DW get the job from Foster? Hell we all know Foster can't make it through a season so the question is when does Foster go down! Gates is a man...nuff said. You have a great WR1 but WR2 and 3 give me pause. IMO you don't have a true WR2. You have great number 3s but not a number two.

TDFFFreak
Nice analyisis, szatzu clap.gif and I agree that I have some questions, but it only makes sense if you really like your team that you are going to be so-so on mine. After all, we are on opposite sides of the fence in a few spots. Yin and yang, if you will.

You are counting on (too much IMO) Chester Taylor to be a be a very serviceable RB2 (to AP) not to mention a weak Rhodes-driven offense in Oakland (when he comes back he probably will be splitting carries, might I add). I have a couple of Raiders on my team, but I am not counting on them as heavily as I feel you may be counting on Rhodes. I am betting you will be sorely disappointed in Rhodes.

Bottom line: I'd rather take my chances finding a breakout at the WR position with LT anchoring my RB corps and Fitz leading the way for those other questionable WRs. While I have a lot of rookies I am depending on, time and time again rookie RBs have shown that they CAN have a big impact in the NFL. I think at least one of the 2 guys in AP and Lynch will make enough of an impact to be a solid RB2.

We can at least agree on this: you have a great WR corps and LT should be a beast again this year.

this is a fun team for me...........good depth but not very top heavy...........im deeply concerned about Gore.....without him im really in a bad way...

QB: hassle is a lunch pail guy ill get decent points from week in and week out......but i doubt ill ever see a 30+ day from him...i wanted two guys in the 7-14 ranking range after missing on the top 6 and adding Cuter did that IMO.

RB: there is a huge chance one of these three will get dinged up.......oh well live hard and die hard..........missing C Brown in the 11th haunted me all night.......i was forced into backing up green with Dayne (hurray)

WR: i love this group.....real suddle but very consistant.....walker is a true top 8 type and plax is as good as he thinks he is......Many dont like Jerricho unsure.gif i have him in my top 24, i love the jets passing game this season with or with out Pennington.

TE: shockey is all about staying healthy....i like Millers value in the 13th should shockey need time off.......Pollard in the 20th is my secret weapon

Teams i like

the steal curtin's team reminds me of my own....alot of substance with very little flash, i suspect a top 4 finish...

i very much like the headbangers team..... Dunn is getting no respect right now.....i like the combo of Brady, Wayne, TO, Addai.......Deuce along with Dunn will be the glue behind the glitter on this team.......my only grip is way too much bay area D........

Fear and Loathing sucks balls..my three year old could draft better (she just slams here hands down on the keyboard)........infact not since Tango and Cash has a worse team been assembled......... im supprised you couldnt fit Ryan Leaf into this group of rim-jobs..............How on earth these Gentlemen in Bling Bling sleep at night after taking you money is beyond me...................... id rather watch reruns of Who's the Boss for entire football season then put any money on your crap fest of a fantasy team..............

mookies team is nice petterson is gonna be the steal of this draft IMO......

White Razors should finish very hight this season.........if any runner emerges that is.....i got third or fourth in this league last season and i had Drougns, Jordon, and MB3 as my runners........................

the rest of the league along with my team is full of parody for sure............

this is all just my opinion of course.........

Good, but not a great team IMO.

I love Gore and McGahee should make a nice RB2, but your WRs are questionable. Walker could be a nice WR1, but not the guy I want to anchor my WR corps.

I see a bunch of potentially nice players, but personally I like a little more upside risk in a team and I just don't see it in yours. It looks like a middle of the road team to me, but one that could surprise if McGahee finds a nice, productive home in Baltimore and you have a few WRs that really need to step up.
