Huddler’s Glory Rules
League Structure
Our league is comprised of 12 teams in 3 divisions with a 13-week regular season. The league is a Dynasty format – all players are kept from year to year.
The regular season (weeks 1-13) consists of head-to-head play. Each team will play the other teams in their division twice and seven teams outside their division once.
Your object is to win enough games to win your division, or qualify for wild card spots to make the playoffs, which are held in weeks 14-16.
Costs and Prizes
Entry fee per team is $40. Payment is due prior to the draft each year.
End of season prize money is distributed as follows:
$200 Super Bowl Winner
$95 Super Bowl Runner-up
$95 Regular Season Points Leader
-------
$390 Total Prize Money
$90 MFL Fees
-------
$480 Total League Fees
Ownership
One team per owner
To prevent confusion, existing owners should maintain the same team name from year to year
Team names with inveterate or distasteful language will not be allowed
If an owner leaves the league, then a replacement will be found by advertising on the huddle boards. The addition of new owners will be subject to approval by the entire league. The new owner will take over the team “as is”. This means they take over the team roster, existing free agent dollar balance, and any trades of future draft picks made by previous owners of the team. A new owner my change the team name to their liking.
Draft
Each year, shortly after the NFL draft, a 5-round rookie/FA draft will be held. The draft order will be based on the reverse order of finish the previous year. The following rules will be used to determine draft order.
1) Super Bowl Winner (drafts last)
2) Super Bowl Runner-up (drafts 11th)
3) Regular season record (worst-to-best)
4) Total regular season points (lowest-to-highest)
5) Head-to-head record (loser)
6) Coin flip
Free Agent Pickups
Each owner is allotted $100 in free agent dollars (FA$) at the beginning of each season, which may be used to bid on players not currently on a league team. Additionally, each owner will be allowed to roll over up to $25 in FA$ remaining from the previous year.
Free agency will be conducted as a "blind bidding" process. Owners may submit more than one round of bids, indicating that they wish to pickup several free agents. In each bid round, they must indicate the players they are bidding on (in order of preference) and the player they will drop if they win the bid. Within each bid round, the owner will only be awarded the first player they have the winning bid on. Bids must be submitted through the MFL league website. Currently, blind bidding starts each Monday at 11pm and ends on Thursday at 8pm during the regular season.
After the blind bid FA period each week, free agents may be picked up on a first-come, first-served basis (FCFS). This period runs from 8:15pm on Thursday to the kickoff of the first games that week. Any number of free agents may picked up at the flat cost of $2 per pickup.
The entire FA schedule is displayed on the MFL league calendar.
Players dropped are immediately available for free agency (there is no freezing of players during the FCFS period).
Free agency runs from a week before the regular season to week 15 of the regular season. No players may be picked up via free agency outside of this period.
Rosters
Every team is allowed up to 18 players on their active roster. Additionally, there are 2 injured reserve slots per team. These IR slots are reserved for players placed on the NFL’s injured reserve by their team, or players that will be out for the remainder of the season due to injury (no suspended/retired players).
A 5-slot taxi squad is also available for players under development. A player may only be placed on the taxi squad in their rookie year (we made an exception for the first year of our league). Once on the taxi squad, a player may be held there for three seasons. Any year 1 player promoted from the taxi squad to the regular roster, and placed in a starting lineup, may never be placed back on a taxi squad by any team. Any player in years 2-3 placed on the regular roster (this does not include IR) may never be placed back on a taxi squad by any team. For the purposes of this rule, there is no regular roster from the period after the super bowl until roster cutdowns are due.
There are no positional roster limits. You may hold any number of players at a given position as long as the roster limits above are adhered to, and you are able to field a starting lineup.
Lineups
Starting Lineups will consist of the following:
1 QB
1 RB
1 WR
1 TE
3 Flex Players (RB, WR, TE)
1 K
Roster must be submitted in full before kickoff of the first game. If no roster is submitted, the previous week’s roster will be used. If this occurs during the first week of the season, then a lineup will be submitted using the highest ranked players from the previous year.
The position a player plays is determined by the MFL league website.
Trades
Players, free agent dollars, and future draft picks (for the following season only) may be traded.
Trades must be proposed, accepted, and approved through the website, even if the discussion/acceptance takes place elsewhere.
If a complaint towards the trade is made, a vote will be held and final judgement will be held on Friday. Trades will be official if A) no complaint has been made within 48 hours of first proposal to league or the minimum of nine teams overall voted.
Any trade made may not put a team over their roster limt.
Trading is suspended only for the league playoffs. After the league super bowl, trading may commence again.

Playoffs
At the end of the league's regular season, teams will be ranked within their division by records. The team with the best winning percentage will be first, second best second, etc. For purposes of calculating the percentage, ties will be considered both ˝ of a win and ˝ of a loss.
There will be 6 teams in the playoffs. Three division winners & three wild card teams. The following rules will be used to determine who makes the playoffs and where they are seeded.
Division winners and wild cards will be determined by the following:
1) The team with the best record
2) The team with the higher points scored for the season
3) The team with the better record in head-to-head games
Playoff seeding will be determined by the following:
1) Division winners
2) Best record
3) Total points
4) Head to head matchup
The #1 & #2 seeds will get a first round bye in the playoffs. The 3rd seed will play the 6th seed, and #4 plays #5 seed in the first round.
The second round pits #1 seed against the lowest seed remaining from round 1 and #2 seed against the highest seed remaining from round 1.
Playoff games must have a winner. Each playoff team must designate three reserve players and rank them in order. If two teams have the same point total in a playoff game, the team with the higher points by their #1designated reserve player wins. If there is still a tie, the #2 designated reserves are compared. If there is still a tie, the #3 designated reserves are compared. In the case of a tie after the above tie-breakers, a coin toss determines the winner.
The reserve players should be designated through the notes section in the website’s “submit lineup” function or through the league forum.
