Muck sends:
Torry Holt, Vincent Jackson and $0.70 in salary cap space (so that Nighthawk is cap compliant after the deal)

Nighthawk sends:
Adrian Peterson and Michael Jenkins

...........................................

Since this impacts one of the guys Nighthawk has starting this week (Michael Jenkins) and two of the guys I have starting this week (both Holt and VJax), if Nighthawk doesn't accept the trade before the first kickoff, the starting lineup are as is. If he does, then he can post his revised lineup here.

My revised lineup, in the event he posts the change is:
Derek Anderson
Shaun Alexander
Adrian Peterson
Marques Colston
Chad Johnson
Randy Moss
Demetrius Williams
Kellen Winslow
Nick Folk
muck
I just changed my starting QB to Griese...

Just a clarification: are you saying the trade is a done deal either way ... but will be in effect this week or next week based on when Nighthawk posts his acceptance here?

wow. i just noticed this trade. gotta be one of the more lopsided trades I've seen in a dynasty league in some time. nothing wrong with it, just one sided....but, what do i know, I'm about to be 2-5.

um, I'm not sure if you are aware of this but V Jax has over half a dozen catches this year. And Holt plays for the best team in the league (his nursing home's flag football league that is).

Yeah I'm not sure what Nighthawk thought he was getting out of the trade an aged Holt and under achieving Vincent Jackson ... for Adrian Peterson ?????

Guys,
Look at the teams as much as the trade itself:
1) I'm thinking I have a stable of RB's and no WR's in a league where I can start 2 RB's and 5 WR's.
2) Look at my WR's again! Holt and V-Jax come in as my two top scoring WR's YTD. (Granted they are not having stellar years)
3) I tried to trade with others for WR help, but didn't have any better offers.
4) Look at scoring up to the trade:
AP- 83.9 points
MJ- 53 points
for
TH- 96.1
VJ- 72

I don't see this as a very lop-sided trade as of last Thursday when it was made.

Relatedly, AP has a history of injuries. Will it continue? Don't know (nobody does).

RBs average career is 4-6 years ... at the time of the trade (i.e., before some of the stories about Holt's knee issues came to light in the last couple of days), I'd have venutured to guess that Holt will have a similar number of productive years left (3-5 was my guess). Further, I like VJax quite a bit more than MJenkins...which I believe is a relatively widely held view.

So, at the time of the trade, Nighthawk traded a RB that was a part of a RBBC on his team (AP wasn't even due to start for Nighthawk before the trade, fwiw) in exchange for two WRs that had scored more than all his other WRs. How many of you would trade a platooning player for two starters?

This is a dynasty league. Holt looks to be on the down side of his career with chronic knee problems this year (which doesn't bode well for his future), 13th WR based on weekly average. Vincent Jackson is the 43rd ranked WR based on weekly average with players like Northcutt, Hiliard, Toomer and Kevin Walter in front of him. Kevin Walter is a free agent that could have been had for $1 and is still available. Reggie Williams is not far behind and is available.

Adrian Peterson is the number 2 RB on the board behind Westbrook and in front of LT, Ronnie Brown and Addai.

Does anybody really believe that Chester Taylor is going to ever start in Minnesota ... come on get real. Adrian Peterson's future value is off the charts and has been since about week 2. Holt's future value is falling off the bottom of the charts.

That's what great about FF, one guys trash is another guys treasure. I just think you could have gotten a lot more for what you gave up.

muck, if you got somebody to believe this, great.

So Chris Chambers going to SD had to make this trade look even worse for Nighthawk as that has to diminish Vincent Jackson's value.

Just looking at this again... Wow whacko2.gif
