I noticed someone with the team name Juggernaut who finished in the top 10 this week and won some cash but they don't give any personal info, just the team name???

I'm hoping the live stats hold up because right now I am listed in 1st place and stand to win $2,500 this week if the scores don't change overnight.

By the way, the rest of you guys can play for free if you sign up, they give you 4 free credits to start out with....

Oh, sorry for the moon then. Didn't realize you were just messing around. They do advertise on one of the huddle's competitors sites so thats why I thought someone might get upset I mentioned it here, but I didn't think of that when I first posted this until you called it spam. I noticed that one of the guys in the top 10 this week was named "Juggernaut" and thought that might be Pengy because I know he plays in a lot of these kind of things like the WCOFF and stuff, but now that the official scores up, you can see that Juggernaut guy was not from Jersey so I'm assuming it wasn't pengy.

Yes, my team name is Travis Henry's Kids and my score held up and I finished 1st in the "Night Games" contest and took home $2,500. You have to finish in the top 10 overall to win any cash, but they randomly divide everyone up into groups of 10 and call each group a "subleague". If you finish first or second in your subleague, you win free credits for the following week.

I think there is probably a huge overlay in playing right now while they are just building up a base of players. Each Credit is worth $5. They give away at least 5K in each contest and they give away 3 free credits for every 10 entries so if my math is correct, I think they would need something like 1300 entries in each contest just to break even and I don't think they are getting anywhere near that many entries right now considering that I have been playing for a few weeks now and my worst finish in any contest for any entry was around 300th place.

I'm registered, pretty cool contest - seems to me that they might need even more, maybe 1400, to break even, right?

1400 entries x $5 per is $7k in.

They pay out $5k, plus for 1400 entries they would give out another 140 x 3 = 420 credits @ $5 per is $2100, so that's a toal of $7,100 out - even at 1400 entries I think they run -$100 for that contest (or double for the All Games contest).

Thanks for the heads up, this is a pretty cool contest and it's nice to be able to test the waters without laying out any cash initially.

Great call on turfwar.com - it's fun and it's also free, at least initially. I posted about it to my main local league, and one of those guys (maui brews) took 7th place and $150 in the All Games contest this past weekend. And it's not like he picked all the right guys either - he had Brady and Moss, but certainly didn't have Kenny Watson (maybe noone had him), and some of his other choices were pretty ordinary (Stover at K, only got 2 points) - and he hit 4 out of the 6 questions, I thought you were gonna' have to hit all 6 to even have a chance at cash. I agree with NJ, this definitely looks like a pretty healthy overlay right now.

I only entered the night games contest, ended up finishing 60th, but was second in my subleague which was good for one free credit, so I'm back up to 4. Gonna' probably play those 4 credits this weekend, and if that fails then my wife will be signing up next week.

Hey NJ, I hesitate to mention this, but we were in the same subgroup this past weekend - I play at turfwar as Jack Straw, and in one of the late game contests this past weekend you and I were in the same subgroup.

I did quite poorly, finished tenth (last) in our subgroup.

I was 3rd overall in the ALL contest this week and looking at another $1000 right up until the last play on MNF when Favre hit that long TD in overtime. Lost the 21 pts for the question "Will Favre throw for over 290 yards?" and it dropped me from 3rd to 14th.

Oddly enough, I just looked and it looks like you entered 2 rosters for the late contest and both of them I was in your subleague. That's a pretty weird coincidence or else there are even less people playing this than I thought.

Well, my two entries finished 326th and 350th, not a very impressive showing - so there had to be at an abosulte minimum about 40 subgroups I'd say.

It's not official until tomorrow night and there are 3 guys literally within 1 point of me so the slightest scoring change could cost me a couple of grand.

Also I am currently 12th in the ALL contest and I still have the Pitt D tonight and it looks like only 2 players in the top 10 have guys left to play so I have an outside shot of sneaking into the top 10 there as well.

dumb question here, I haven't checked out the site, but is this money you speak of winning every week "real dollars" or is it some type of voucher or something of use only at that site. Could I sign-up win money one week and cash out.

Did you see the Turf War e-mail this week? They are basically pleading with members to play as many credits as they can this weekend, to make a deposit, to play for cash, whatever. They were pretty upfront about it, said if they don't show enough progress this weekend, with progress being measured by number of entries, then their investors are gonna' pull the plug on them.

Make sure you ask for that prize money to be mailed to you ASAP NJ, rather than just being credited to your account.
