Our league rules state the following:

QUOTE

A play is considered to be a Special Teams play if a kicker or a punter in on the field (except for point after touchdown plays). If a touchdown is scored in that play, 6 points (+ 4 pts if TD is 51 yards or more) will go to the team D/ST scoring the TD and to the player scoring the TD. If this is a passing TD, 4 points (+ 2 pts if TD is 51 yards or more) will also go to the player passing the TD pass.

At the beginning of the year I must have screwed up and NOT set it up for a TD to go to the individual scoring on Special Teams. Of course I'm just noticing this now that MJD has scored a special teams TD this week. I have NO IDEA if this affects any of the games that have been played so far.

What would you guys like to do? Change the scoring on MFL so it matches our agreed upon rules, or change the rules to match the erroneous scoring system in place on our site? I would like to change MFL to match our rules but I obviously have too much of a vested interest to jsut go ahead and make that change now... so I need to know what the rest of you would like to see me do. Thanks and sorry for the oversight!

We should not change horses in mid stream when it comes to rules. MJD should get the points. What I do not like about the way the rule is written with the idea that it is a special teams play if the kicker or a punter is on the field. To me, it is an offensive play in the event of a fake punt or field goal, or a broken play that turns out to be a touchdown. Change the settings, though, to reflect the points you rightly deserve.

I say change it to the way the rules are. Btw, It looks like SD didn't get points for the Special teams TD that the Vikes offered up to them.

Edited to add: Looks like the Chargers didn't get those points in any of my leagues today, according to MFL gameday. Defensive team points often don't get scored until it's official. Looks more like a system issue than a league one.

I agree with this. I think we should vote on what is a special teams play and what is an offensive play for next year. Maybe we did already this year, I don't remember. Too many leagues.

Chargers TD counted in OUTRAGED. As you mentioned in the other forum, it depends on how scoring is set up. Not a big fan of giving individuals points for ST TDs but it seems clear our rules are written that way so it should count.
