PLAYOFFS, SINGLE ELIMINATION
- Playoffs begin week 14 and end week 16.
- 6 teams will make the playoffs.
- 6 teams NOT to make the playoffs will be in the Toilet Bowl.
- Tie-breakers for gaining a playoff berth and for determining seeding are, in order, head-to-head and then total points.
- There will be 2 division winners and 1 wildcard team from each conference with no special consideration given to the total points champion. The team with the best overall record in each conference, not to have won a division, will get a wildcard berth.
- There will NEVER be 2 wildcards from the same conference, even if the 4th best team in one conference has a superior record to the all the teams in the other conference.
- Top division winner IN EACH CONFERENCE will get a 1st round bye (even if a team in the other conference has a superior record).
- Round 1 of the playoffs, the division winner IN EACH CONFERENCE not on a bye will play the wildcard IN CONFERENCE
- Round 2 of the playoffs, the top seed IN EACH CONFERENCE will play the round 1 winners IN CONFERENCE to determine division champions
- Round 3 of the playoffs, the division champions meet in the superbowl to determine the Hannibals champion.
Presuming Carolina Sharks defeats REZ tonight ...
CONFERENCE 1
Canes will be the top seed from Conference 1 unless he loses the next 2 while the Kickers win the next 2 (kickers have H2H over Canes)
Kickers are currently the 2nd seed from Conference 1 BUT the division remains wide open as the Kickers only have a 1 game lead over both division opponents and the next two games will be against each of those division foes.
Niners currently have the wildcard spot from Conference 1 by virtue of H2H over Carolina Sharks. Wildcard spot is wide open and the Sharks will play the Niners in the final week of the regular season (13) in a game that could determine which team takes the wildcard.
CONFERENCE 2
Pass the sauce will be the top seed from Conference 2 unless he loses the next 2 while REZ wins TONIGHT and wins the next 2 (REZ has H2H over PTS).
REZ is currently the 2nd seed from Conference 2 BUT the division remains wide open as REZ only has a 1 game lead over both division opponents.
Red Eye Growler will be the wild card unless a very unlikely sequence of events transpires that some how has Growler at 6-7 tied with Mega-Hurtz for the wildcard OR tied with REZ for the wild card
Current Playoff Seeding
1. Pass the Sauce (H2H advantage over Canes)
2. Canes
3. Kickers
4. REZ
5. Red Eye Growler (H2H advantage over Niners)
6. Niners (H2H advantage over Sharks)
Of course with 2 weeks left that picture can change, although it looks fairly certain that the top two seeds are set and the rest of the league is battling for the other 4 seeds.
