Hey Guys,

Our draft is less than two weeks away! Keep in mind this is a SLOW draft, with each owner having 24 hours to make his selection. My question for you is... when should the time clock start once Pete makes his selection with the 1.01 pick?

Should team #2 be on the clock as of the time of that pick? Or should team 2's clock start at 12:01AM on June 2nd (the next day) regardless of when the first selection comes off the board?

Our decision will affect the rest of the draft, so I just wanted to put it out there for everyone. My initial thought is to start the draft clock once the first pick is made, but I want to listen to all opinions before deciding.

Hope all's well with everybody. Welcome to the 2008 season!

The clock should start for pick #1 at 12:00:01am on June 1. Pick #2's clock should begin the second after #1 selects. Ex. #1 picks at 3:14:03am on the 1st. The clock starts for #2 at 3:14:04am on the 1st and goes to 3:14:03 on the 2nd. If the clock reaches 3:14:04 on the 2nd, the pick is late.

As with the NFL, if a team misses ther deadline, the next teams clock starts. Then both teams are on the clock.

What do you think? And yes, we do need to be specific because teams will try to use the whole clock. Why? I don't know.

Hope everybody got the email I sent out this morning. If not, here's an excerpt:

Good Morning Guys,

We're four days away from our LEGACY draft! The draft starts at 8AM Sunday Morning.

After speaking with most of you, the consensus seems to be that our 24 hour clock will reset after each pick. So, each owner has 24 hours from the last pick made to make his selection. This means that if Pete makes his selection at 8:01AM Sunday, then Eric has until 8:01 AM Monday to get in his pick.

Keep in mind that if you trade during the draft, you must call in the trade to the commish, and I'll post the trade on the message board so everybody knows what's going on. Also, deputy commishes (Eric, Chris and Steve) stay alert for phone calls from the commish because if he makes a trade your approval is required.

I hope everybody clicked on the links in the last email and visited our myfantasyleague site so everyone knows what players are out there. If anyone has questions please feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email.

Can't wait for football!
Matt

hey guys

looks like we are bogged down for a while... I left a bunch of messages for Carlos but I cannot get in touch with him... smoke em if you've got em

still have not been able to contact Carlos... as of 11:36PM tonight the SUPERENGELS may pick... and after SUPERENGELS picks then each successive team is free to pick (in order, as if skipping BIG DOG)

Hey Guys,

Left a message for the CAVA boys but haven't heard back... it's Father's Day so I suppose we'll hear from owners tomorrow and perhaps push this thing through to the end

I've received enough phone calls from you guys asking me questions about trading draft picks that I thought I should put this out there:

1- Yes, you may make trades that take your teams below 20 players so long as the draft is still ongoing (because you'll be awarded supplementary picks to reach the roster requirement);

2- Once the draft is concluded you MAY NOT make trades that take your team below 20 players;

3- If you currently have more than 20 players, or if you trade so that your roster balloons over 20 players then you must cut down to 20 players by the deadline (two weeks before the NFL season)

Also, SUPERENGELS Steve was good enough to check the rules for us and show that supplemental picks MAY NOT be traded... what is past is past, but going forward the no-trading of supplemental picks takes care of two problems: (1) it ensures everybody gets to 20 players and (2) it ensures that teams cannot endlessly trade picks that would recoup anyway later in the same draft

Several of you have spoken to me about the need to amend the draft/supplemental process and given this year's experience I think we'll be able to tweak things into proper fashion

For this year, let's get through this drat and then work on perfecting things (thanks, Steve)

Thanks to Dave who pointed out that Terry Glenn should still be on his roster from last year (double-checked at our MFL site)... this means that he doesn't have an 11th round pick and is done for the draft
