#1- If PD doesn't return which of the candidates on the waiting list would be the best fit for the JLA? Any info toward making a decision would be appreciated.

#2- Should we leave the blind bidding monies at $100 or make it $1,000?

#3- Should we leave the same teams in the same divisions as last year or let the dice roll decide new placements for each team?

I voted for the same as last year for the first two. For the third I said you can pick.

I voted same as last year for the first two. Hoping that PD returns,but I voted for BigMike. I have been in a fantasy baseball league for 3 years that he commishes. Think he would be a great addition to the league.

I don't know panhead or dexterdew, so I couldn't vote for them. I pretty much hate the other guys equally, so it doesn't matter which of those pissants are brought on board to get a BB grape squashing.

As far as the replacement if PantherDave doesn't commit to the new year, I have found in the past it is nice to get to know a little about the guys that we are looking to add to the league.

I think in the past we have had like a brief summary of the prospective new team sent via PM to the League Commish, he compiles all of them and starts a new thread to summarize the bios (DOES NOT INCLUDE NAMES) for the 10 other owners to give us an opportunity to review and cast a vote based on the bio that seems to mesh with the league owners already in place. The lack of using the names is a way for the people vying for the spot to sell themselves to their new leaguemates and we have an open mind since we are unable to know who is who based on the bios. Sort of like a blind vote (via PM to Irish) and then Irish could announce the bio that got the most votes and congratulate the new owner.

It provides a way for all of us to get to know the new owner and also the opportunity for us to determine how much they want to get into the league as we vote for the bio that we like the best, giving them the chance to sell themselves to the league.

Now that is one tremendous idear. I will let those owners on the waiting list know about this and if any of them decide not to submit something it'll make the job even easier and for those that do put something together, I'll use PSU's suggestion.

Glad to help. It is a fun way to get to know the guys that want in the league, plus if you have a 2nd opening (should someone else drop out) you can just select the #2 bio for those submitted. I also think that it engages everyone else to pick the guy that seems to fit the best, versus just picking out a name from a hat.

Completely agree and I've already sent out PMs asking for bios, cut and pasted exactly what you wrote above (and even gave you credit for the idea). 2 people have already responded with bios and when I get a couple more, I will start up another thread. Thanks again.

I'm in another league with Wolf ...he'd be a fine addition as would Cre8 or BigMike. I'm not familiar with the others but their bios indicate they would all be great additions.

I just wanted to bump this up as we have 9 owners who have already chimed in. Timmy, Bronco Billy, Abish, Isle, CL, PSU, Stoperat, someone else (either LBH or Bartender) and me. Again one of Bartender or LBH have to vote and then Doc. After those votes that would make 11 and the new owner would be the only one left.

looks like the abstainer twas me....i have since voted and the system now politely tells me so....

Then I'll be able to name the new owner, the rest of the waiting list in descending order, how the division will be comprised, blind bidding monies, the draft order, whether it'll be a live draft or a slow draft (looks like a slow draft) and a starting date for the draft.

Looking at the results of these polls, things are pretty tight and more votes went to me in terms of making the calls. So what I think I'm going to do is leave everything the way it was last year with the obvious exception of the draft slots.

So $100 BB money and division setups will remain as they are now. If Doc comes back, is in and votes then I'll be able to add our new owner and create an ordered waiting list. If he doesn't, I already know who the 2 new owners are and will name them and get the ball rolling.
