Soo................. slow day at work today and I'm looking over my schedule for August and realizing that draft days are filling up for me already. I have drafts scheduled for Saturday August 23 and Sunday August 24 up in Hibbing, but other than that I'm open. I was looking at the web site, and the draft listed on that is August 22, which I think is an artifact from last year. However, I was also thinking that would work as last season we drafted on a Friday evening and I headed up to Hibbing the next morning. So, any of you gents have ideas for draft days yet, or is this still way too early to think about it?

And I can host the draft this year if nobody has any objections.

I haven't sent out any notices or anything on this league recently... I don't think you'll get too many replies here right now. I will send out some emails and begin discussions on rules sometime in the next couple of weeks.

You're correct that the draft day on the site is leftover, not new. So I'm wide open for suggestions. Are you saying that you prefer August 22nd?

I'd be fine with the 22nd, but I know TScorp has to drive down from Brainerd for the draft. And someone else just moved to Faribault to if I recall, so that will need to be considered for travelling as well. I know it's still early though, just thought I'd throw an idea or two out there and see what comes about.

Besides, fantasy hockey is done, I don't play fantasy baseball, and fantasy golf is merely filler until football season starts again.

Friday night is not a bad night for me. Actually the 22 doesn't look too bad for me right now. The 15th is definetly out for me. Where is the draft at? Hopefully on the north side of the metro this year.

I was thinking of hosting this year. I live in Oakdale, so it's more in the eastern side of the suburbs.

My sister lives in Oakdale so it may not be a bad location for me.

Evenings of August 6, 7 and 26 are not so good. All other days will work right now because I'm not scheduled to be out of town until September.

That's kinda why I want to go there too.

Glad we didn't change it to the 29th. HS football is here! I woudn't miss it. My kids the quarterback this year. I have to be there when they haul is ass to the hospital again.

I'm pretty sure we are good to go. At least 10 of us will be drafting in person, with potentially 2 of us drafting live but online from their homes.

Mike, it's ok with me if you back up the draft to the Grizzlies 16.07 pick or take Pierre Thomas off the books. But thanks to everyone for letting me pick ahead of you all.

I know that when I was in the live draft room last night, the picks didn't show up as they were made. (I've never used my wife's Mac in the draft room before.) That's why there were extra picks made by mistake a few times because I hit the "make pick" button a second time when I didn't see anything happen the first. Maybe that's why the picks were skipped at the end after I left. Not sure. I talked to coach Bano on the phone after I left, and it sounded like something went screwy there. Everyone was gone by then.

I don't think there is any need to back up the picks. We pretty much got it all taken care of... just need Ursa to chime in on who he would like to have for his last two picks. We purposely left them open for him to choose on his own since they are just basically backup players.

It was interesting to see how long the Fighting Stogies could hold out before taking a QB.

It was also fun to speculate on which old dude Worst Pain Ever was going to pick online.

Sorry I had to leave but work came within a hairs breadth of disaster and sticking around at a FF draft while my staff were battling to keep the company computer systems from frying would have been a tad irresponsible.

Thanks to all of you for working together to draft a team for me. I haven't even looked yet because we still have some issues with our systems but I'll get the team completed today.
