Below are a list of the candidates who have submitted a Bio in hopes of being chosen to be a part of the JLA if it so happens that PantherDave is no longer able to be part of the league. You'll notice that I didn't set up a poll as I'm making this more of a blind ballotting system (again a suggestion from PSU). If you're somehow able to figure out who a specific candidate is, please keep it to yourself and try to vote from an unbiased perspective any way. The way you'll be voting is by sending me a PM titled "JLA Candidate Voting" and then in the first line of the body specify which candidate you feel would be the best fit for our league (Ex. Candidate #). If you'd like to include any other comments that's fine as well. Please also make a list ordering the candidates from 1-6 so that I can then create a waiting list based on who we feel fits our league the best and so on.
EX.
1- Can.#
2- Can.#
3- Can.#
4- Can.#
5- Can.#
6- Can.#
After this group is ordered anyone that has interest in joining the JLA will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.

JLA membership application
I'm probably the oldest JLA applicant. I'm a 57 yo dentist who has been playing fantasy football for over 20 years. Initally it was with my local league. We had a great draft party with food and alcohol and a great big board where we recorded our draft picks. Back then you couldn't wait til Monday morning to read the football stats in the morning sports page. A few years later we could get a lot of stats by watching Boomer on Prime Time on Sunday night. Aghh, the good old days. I first discovered The Huddle in 2002 and became a member in 200#. I know, what took so long?
I'm a very solid fantasy player, who always plays the string out. I've got several championships under my belt, and would cherish the opportunity to match my skills against the likes of you. Last year I was in 6th place going into the final week of the MVP challenge. Unfortunately my exceptional week 16 lineup fell on their faces, and my team dropped out of the money to ##th place. Oh well, who needs an extra $10,000 anyway. My reputation is that of an owner who drafts championship teams and then trades them away. lol.
As a kid I was a big comic book fan. I had the first 30 issues of the JLA and I had a lot of Marvel originals. Alas, they are long since gone. Does anybody remember the Justice Society of America? Hourman, Dr Fate, the original Flash, Black Canary, Hawkman, Spectre, Dr Mid-Nite, and a few others I don't remember constituted the JSA (circa 1940s). There was an issue or two of the JLA where they teamed up with the JSA. Just for the record Marvel comics are better than DC. If you haven't seen the Ironman movie, check it out.
Unfortunately fantasy sports are the only fantasies my wife will tolerate, so here I am.

Been playing FF for 12 years. Started with a live-draft local with basic scoring and made the playoffs first year. Been at the Huddle since 1999 (original username got purged when I paid late one summer) when I saw the ad in a mag and decided to kick the rest of my locals a55. Since have played in IDP, keeper, dynasty/contract year formats. Always looking to trade and take risks. Currently in 5 other leagues. Enjoy fishing, hiking, watersports, and long walks on the beach. Favorite color is magenta.

####'s Bio (I dont really know if this is what you are looking for, so I will try my best)
FF History
I have been playing fantasy football since the Fall of 2003. A dozen of us high school buddies had all graduated college, and we thought this "Fantasy Football" thing we have all heard of would be a good way to have us all keep in touch as we began to move away from one another and started our lives. I won our innaguaral year and have been hooked ever since. That local is still together today and is the foundation of my fantasy football resume'.
The Huddle
I am currently in more then a half-a-dozen BOTH leagues. I stumbled upon the Huddle in the summer of 200# looking for some updated rankings. My favorite Huddle hang-out in the off season is the Tailgate.
Football
I have bled GIANT BLUE since the 4th grade. Grew up watching LT, Simms, Banks and my favorite, Rodney Hampton. (I favorite player of all though is Scott Norwood)
Me?
I am currently a 4th grade teacher; I have the greatest job in the world. Been married for a year and have a beautiful 11 week old daughter.
Pet-Peeve
Couples who both sit on the same side of the booth at restaurants
What should all FF leagues have?
Free Agent - Blind Bidding
What should all FF leagues get rid of?
Owners who don’t set their lineup Commish comment-(Timmypg and Trey watch out!!)
My motto
What my mother has told me since I was a toddler, “Treat others the way you would like to be treated”

I have been a member of The Huddle for several years. I don't post a lot since I feel if you don't have something germain to add to the conversation, then posting to pad your stats doesn't sit right with me. What I like about The Huddle and some of its members is that there can be serious, in-depth discussion and analysis on match ups and depth charts. The members who actually have a NFL team within 150 miles can really add value to the BB.
I take FF pretty serious. Not throw stuff at the TV (or computer) serious since you cannot get upset over things you cannot controll.... but I over-prepare for drafts and over-think who I should start.... I tend to look too much at stats and matchups, and I believe the Always Start Your Studs is antiquating thinking, especially if you drafted good depth. However, once the lineup is set, go to the local sportsbar (or computer) and enjoy the ride.
In terms of roster moves, I only make trade offers that make sense to both teams: you trade strength for strength (or timing). I do not get insulted when a lopsided trade comes my way. If interested, I will counter. I also keep a mindful eye on the WW, and will churn my bench for opportunities. You can never have too much depth, and you don't want the next WW stud to go to anyone else.
I would say more about the leagues I have been in, or other specifics, but this is suppose to be anonymous, so I will leave it at that.
I look forward to joining your league and placing in the money!

Pick me! Pick me!
Sure, I'll throw my hat in the ring for your league opening. I can deal with rejection. Joining this league would be considered a momentous occasion for me.
Lifelong Vikings fan (so he's a proven loser, which is what you want in your league). Played sparingly during four seasons at a Division III football semi-power (D-III? Wow, what an underachiever), using his free time (read: benchwarmer) to discover fantasy football. Formed his first league in 1988 (how old is this guy?) and has played in countless leagues, won multiple ("multiple" sounds more impressive than "two") championships, and developed an unnatural love for a certain former Big 10 and AFC South running back (clearly ghey). Also known to pontificate on fantasy football to anyone who will listen.
Trading with this guy will be easier than besting Paris Hilton at a game of chess, because you'll know exactly what he's thinking. His work will keep him too busy to beat you to the free agent pool for pickups and the like, but not too busy to micromanage every aspect of his team. Best of all, at the end of the season you'll be proud to let everybody know you beat him like a rented goalie.
Or you can pick one of the other guys. Whatever.

Hey guys! Thanks for the chance to introduce myself. I’ve been a fantasy football junkie for the last 10 years, and I’m 4-1 lifetime in fantasy bowls. I consider myself a tough competitor. I watch my teams like a hawk, and I will do everything I can to win each week - within the rules of course. Even if my team is out of the playoff hunt, I will fight to the end, because I think there is a ton of fun in spoiling somebody else’s playoff run.
I’m a 40-year-old Chicago Bears fan living in the Chicago suburbs. If anyone asks about my age, I usually say I’m 30-something. I currently work as a freelance writer/editor and do some marketing on the side. I’m trying to break into marketing/public relations full-time since leaving the journalism profession a short while ago.
Why do I want to join your JLA league? My two local leagues folded at the end of last season, and I’m looking for at least one new re-draft league. I am already in two BOTH leagues and really enjoy the competition. I looked through some of the threads on your league homepage, and this looks like a very organized, well-run league. I noticed some of the good-natured ball-busting, which tells me that everyone seems to get along. I also like the JLA theme, because it reminds me of the comic books that I had collected when I was a kid. I still have my collection. It’s amazing how comic books used to cost just 35 or 40 cents each, and they now cost two or three bucks each. My DC favorites were Superman, Justice League, Justice Society, Batman, Brave and Bold, and Green Lantern. On the Marvel side, I liked Avengers, Iron Man, Fantastic Four and John Carter.
I guess that is all I can tell you without giving away who I am. Thanks for reading my bio, and I hope you’ll consider me for your league.

If you haven't noticed, one person removed himself from consideration as they felt it wasn't necessary for them to apply for the spot.
Have fun fellas and thanks for your effort!!!
