Haven't been in a league using this FA method, so someone will have to lay out of me how it works....

Everyone has 100 CBs to start year. You are blind bidding on free agents. Starting on Sunday thru WED evening everyone bids on free agents they want to pick up. You do not know anyone elses bid. You also must put in who you will drop if you win the player. Winners are awarded around midnight. Then from Thursday shortly after midnight till Friday night you do it again. This second round gives everyone a chance at 1st round drops. These are awarded around midnight friday. Then it is FCFS till about start of first game on Sunday, incase someone has to replace a player at the last second. Usually PKers since some teams only carry one.

If you spend all or most of your CBs too quickly you may not get any players from then on you really want. On other hand if you do not bid enough you will not win quality RBs or WRs that breakout after the first couple of weeks.

Times may not be exact, but should be close and I can adjust them if need be after the first week.

So for newbs like me who have never used this sytem before, how do we know what to bid on a player? What is the baseline? For instance, it it around $3-4 per bid on average, or much more like $10-15?

I feel I am at a significant disadvantage since I have no idea what a realistic bid might be for an average player/decent player/great player.

Last year I saw people bid from 70CBs to their full 100CBs for R Grant and E Graham. Usually an average player goes from 9 to 20 CBs but Have seen people bit 30 or more if they need a RB or WR badly.

Sometimes you get surprised and you can get a player for 1-4CBs.

It all depends on hype abou the player and how much people need a starter in their lineup at that position. Only thing I can tell you is there is no set amount you can count on.
