I have been debating things and talking things over with some league owners here and as I have stated before, I have talked to Doc and he has told me that he will be returning and that he was going to check in but that was 3 weeks ago before I left on vacation and he hasn't done so yet. I really don't want to set a deadline date for him to check-in by, however, it's getting pretty close to me doing so as I have 10 other owners to think about 2 of which could be new. As of right now I'm mulling over whether to name Mon. July 21st at high noon as the deadline...


Let's hope he chimes in.

I'm still trying to figure out what the hurry is. Our draft appears to be over a month away.

Would I like to see the draft order? Sure - but it's probably a lot more out of anticipation that always occurs this time of year when TC is 2 to 3 weeks away.

If it were coming up on the end of the 2nd week of August I might start getting concerned. If you talked to Doc & he said he was in, then take him at his word until time starts to become a pressing issue. If we're that desperate for off-season action, then we should change this to a keeper or dynasty league.

I'm really in no rush as I really like Doc, but in speaking with some others, I'm trying to do what's best for the whole group. Being that Doc told me 3 weeks sgo that he was in I felt content that he would show. He told me that he would check in that very weekend and it didn't happen. So I'm concerned that there's more to this than meets the eye. I'm concerned that if he couldn't check in then what's going to happen when it comes time for him to draft? BB, we're both in the Huddle Ladder and Doc hasn't been there either and that's a huge league which he Co-Commishes. Another problem with waiting alot longer is the 2 (out of the 5) new owners that we're stringing along from the waiting list. I'm sure they would like an answer as to whether or not they're in the league and also whether or not they might join some other league if they're not.

So really that's why I said I was mulling it over, cause I'm in a bit of a tough spot. I WANT Doc in this league but if he is having some personal issues (which he hasn't said and I don't know) of which he doesn't want to share, that's fine, I don't want to leave the rest of the league hanging. Also like I said above, 5 owners on the waiting list are awaiting news as to whether or not they got into this league and if Doc doesn't show, we'll need 2 more new guys. Some of those guys may be waiting to hear the results so they can decide on other leagues. If we make decisions too late maybe when I go to tell them they're in and they may not be able to accept the invitation because they've accepted elsewhere and don't want to overextend themselves. So there's no question, I need to think of Doc but I need to think of the rest of the current owners as well as the new owner taking PD's spot and another possible new owner to take Doc's spot.

I didn't say that next Monday was in fact the deadline, rather that I was mulling it over. Well see...

I am all for Doc staying in the league, but his inactivity does cause me to have a little concern with his inability to stay in touch with Irish. If he simply texted him or return one of several calls that Irish has made to him, I don't think Irish would be posting this thread. My issue is after 3 weeks he hasn't finished the league business, returned Irish's calls and been missing in the Huddle Ladder league. If he is busy, I certainly understand that and sometimes real life is much more important than FF, but if this becomes a trend and he stays in the league, the draft could be really slow and frustrating if we are always waiting for a pick from Doc because he is too busy.

Communication with Irish and Doc is all that we would need to have to understand his current situation, but without out it, it makes you start questioning his ability to stay in the league due to issues we have no idea about. Just my

Why don't you tell the person who is filling PD's spot that they are in & let the #2 person know the Doc situation? That way you can cut 3 loose, tell 1 they are in, & leave only 1 hanging on Doc's return.

#1 and #2 have almost an identical score in terms of the voting. Doc's vote would be the difference for who takes PD's place. I have informed both people that they are the favorites however.

Hey, I'll support whatever you decide. I do know as a commish that it is exteremely frustrating when someone doesn't do you the courtesy of at least dropping a line to tell you to piss off, or whatever else they may be thinking. But it is the middle of July, and I hate to see hard feelings on the part of someone who really likes the league but got aced out during a very nondescript time of the year.

Call my position the Devil's advocate and move on with whichever way you feel is best for the league. I'm with you either way.

#1- Which 3?
#2- Could any of those 3 be back in play if either or both of the first 2 can't fill the spot because we've informed them too late and they're in all the leagues they want to be at this point?

We'll give Doc some time. I also tried calling him last night and today with no answer. Hopefully, he comes around.

Absolutely not, however, they could end up being the replacements the longer we wait. I understand your point, the bottom 3 reading this are thinking well he didn't say anything to me...guess I'm out. And by vote to this point, that's the case and those 3 will form our Waiting List in a priority ranking now. However, that could change rather quickly depending on everyone else's individual situations as we move forward. Hell, I had a candidate remove himself from contention just because they didn't want to submit a bio after he expressed a lot of interest, so you never know what might happen as we move forward.

I'd like to change my vote for top candidate. This league needs someone with that much common sense.

Well the bios were a good idea by PSU. However, it is very time consuming and the good thing is after the owners on the waiting list are ranked we won't have to do this again as anyone else who wants to add their name to the list will just be added to the end.

Well, it's now Friday the 18th and I'm hoping to hear from Doc soon. As I've already stated, I for one don't want to leave him out and several other huddlers (both in the league and on the waiting list) have also expressed to me within the last week that they'd like to see him be given more time to respond. Wish granted.

He's mia in 3 leagues now, all of which are looking for him to finalize draft plans, or in the case of one league, to start drafting next week. He apparently has disconnected numbers also. These are tough times for some people, and it's possible that he may not be around for a while. I sure don't want to think anything badly, but there are a lot of people trying to contact him and no one is having any success. I hope nothing serious has befallen him or those close to him.

BB, I agree with you that it may be time to look for an alternative. However, that's already done as I have the 2 owners from the waiting list who would step in for PD and Doc if he doesn't show. The LIVE draft is already in the crapper for this league and the slow draft will be starting the week of Aug 17th. I'm thinking Mon. Aug. 18th at 6 am. Therefore, all that would be needed is for the 2 new guys to roll the dice and get slotted for the draft, which is in a little less than a month.

BigMike has accepted his invitation to the league, will be rolling the dice today and Wolfden (haven't spoken to him) would take Doc's spot if he doesn't show.
