Any rolls that do not FULLY comply with his instructions are null and void, NO EXCEPTIONS. I'll post the rolls here as they come in. Tie breaker are the first number in your roll,(higher wins) the second number, etc. If in some weird act of php madness two owners roll the exact same three numbers, we will have those two teams roll off for the spot, like we do with draft positions.
GOOD LUCK!
Add all 3 numbers up and the highest total gets 1st draft choice , then so on. We will be choosing our draft positions based on highest to lowest cumulative 3 dice numbers, after dice roll each owner will select their draft spot based on highest roll to lowest roll. Example highest roller choices #1 draft spot , while 2nd highest roller choices #4 draft spot or any other they wish.

Not great, but not bad at all. Probably not good enough for the 1st pick, though. Therefore, I must drop out of the league since I've lost my competitive advantage.

I can't roll yet (in meeting), but these are really good rolls compared to our Ladder roles. Yikes! Looks like I am relegated to the backend of the draft yet again. You're one lucky bastard, Yo Mama.

My roll is like playing Russian roulette in reverse: every chamber of the gun has a bullet except for one.

At this point I'll be lucky to get a pick within the top six...
EDIT: A lovely 144. Oh well, if it wasn't going to be top 6, it doesn't matter where I end up in the bottom six.

2006 I had the #1 pick and was well on my way to the Champions table, then I had that trade for Portis and McNabb , I was 12-1 heading to the playoffs, then lost Portis and McNabb for the season, and got pounced in the first round. I cleaned house in '06 , but due to those awful late season injuries, I didn't finish the job

TD ,
I think it high times, leagues start to consider the 3RR draft . Third Round Reversal that is.
Everyone pays the same money and with the flip of a coin your chances are squashed by picking in a horrible spot. The 3RR is proven to be much more fair then your standard serpentine draft , the numbers simply don't lie . MFL - CBS - RTS , all have it as a scoring option now. FF is changing and it's BIG money. The old tradition of QB 4points, no yardage points or points per receptions has all went to the wayside , it's about time to start giving all owners an equal chance to draft a competitive team as well.

Muck called it the "Modified Serpentine" draft method when he introduced it to us oh so many years ago. We still use it in Dash-4. Simply put, it's my toughest draft to prepare for. That being said, it also makes for the leagu with the most evenly matched teams, no matter what hole you draft out of. It places a premium on in-season management of your team. I really like this draft method and it's one of the reasons I haven't left that league since we started it (it was the 4th Both League formed).
In other words, were this change proposed, I could get behind it.

I hope I don't get drilled for posting this link, but I did a google on the 3RR and could only come up with one article written about the subject.
3RRI pm'd DMD to request an article about the subject. I will be setting up a mock draft in the main forum to do the Huddles first 3RR Mock Draft. He said he'll post the results, and I'm hoping he gives his thoughts on the draft as well.

I like this idea (obviously more now that I am in the 10th spot) and would be willing to conduct this year's Empire draft this way. Obviously we would need nearly league wide approval and the picking of draft spots would need to be redone as I suspect some would want to move if the draft were being conducted differently.
I see little chance of the early picks wanting to do this since it'll suddenly take their advantage away. Regardless if it's more fair, which it appears it is, I think it wasn't stated in the rules or discussed before now so we have little right to change it unless most of the league members see it in their hearts to make the league a bit more fair.
I would vote to change it if were put to a vote, but I wouldn't be upset if people voted against it for above reasons.

there was quite a lengthy thread on this last season. i'm not in favor of it. last year yo got a huge boost by nabbing manning and wayne on the comeback. that won't happen this year. most mock and adp drafts have them long gone before the return, along with brady, romo, TO, etc. with LT most likely starting to enter his decline, having that top pick isn't so much of a lopsided advantage anymore. the serpentine works as it is, spacing things out as they should be. no need to tinker, imo.

We can not even entertain this for the 2008 season, as draft spots have been selected. I would like to discuss this for the 2009 season. I review 14 leagues I played in last season and the #1 pick got into the playoffs and money rounds in all but 2 . That , imo, is far too large an advantage. I think there should be an advantage for drafting #1 , but it should be minimal. We're almost throwing dice at our local casino when we hand out draft spots anymore. FF is a big business and the fairest way to go about things should be reviewed. We will always do a dice roll and will always be able to select our positions, so if the guy rolling highest thinks he'd rather have #12 over #1 , by all means take it. I don't like the idea, that a dice roll has now taken alot of owner management out of the equation. If you roll highest, you may as well, take 1/2 the money and go home, imo.

As my earlier post stated, we would need the league to give approval to change it and have the ability to repick draft slots if it happened. I don't see everyone agreeing to it, so it's probably a moot point, but if everyone did agree, I would see no reason why we couldn't change this rule for this year.
With the above stated, nothing would be affected at this point, but I don't see it happening this season. It would be because everyone wouldn't agree (and I don't blame them), not because it couldn't be done fairly.

Correct, after the dice roll and draft spots selection, a line is drawn in the sand, those with high picks would never give consent in giving up their distinct advantage. That is why we should remove emotion from it and concentrate of the fairness of the 3RR Draft for 2009
