Just wanted to make sure you all remember the position requirements for the draft.

Do we have to have a QB or a TE....?

Why he strict requirements? If I wanted a backup to a QB or a TE for example I couldn't pick a bye week QB/TE in the draft but could, as I understand it, get one in waivers if they are there.

I think this would result in waivers. I know about the rules, just don't understand why they are so strict.

What waivers? Surely you jest.

The original design for the league was based on the IDP Handbook league where almost all of the emphasis was placed on drafting ability. Before this season we couldn't even trade players and the rosters limits remained throughout the season. We are evolving and may address the limitations next season. I've also considered keeping the rigid form and adjusting the positions, but the league was not quite ready to make those changes this year.

To make them easier to find, all league votes are labeled "rules vote" or "runoff vote" & discussions are "rules discussion". You only have to look at the dates to see what year they were brought up. In addition I pin a thread every year for topics of discussion after the season has concluded and unlike many leagues that wait until before the next season starts, we do our rules review almost immediately following the Championship game so that everything is still fresh on our minds.

6 LB's seems like alot.

I want to not like that rule, but I do like it. 6 LBs does seem like a lot but I like the rule overall.

Last year, in my local IDP league, the 30th ranked linebacker scored 217 fantasy points....the 30 ranked WR ppr scored 169 points. There is a much more clear dropoff at WR than there is at LB...but if you have great LBer's, you can generally trade them for good WR's...as tackling is more consistent than catching.

2 QB's though means you can't have a handcuff. Other than that I'm fine with them.

it also means your handcuff should be available on waivers allowing you to pick them up after the draft.

Now 'm interested in someone who is a safety and is listed as such by their team but MFL still lists them as a CB. Can I get an exception? If I take him as a CB I can't pick another because I can only have 2..

I would feel lucky I get to start an actual safety as a CB...that is a bonus!!!

He hasn't played CB in a long time. From last years bye to the present he's been a safety.Don't they ever update anything over there.


I don't mind roster requirements but MFL needs to show the real position these guys are playing.

EDIT-I heard back from them today and they said they will do their weekly updates on player changes next week.

He can be changed in MFL per league to reflect a certain position, FWIW.

I know, but I'm not the commish. Some leagues allow this some don't.

The problem with that is once you change a players status the player is no longer updated by MFL. Then we get into a situation where I have to manage players as well & I just don't have the time to do that. Furthermore, if I start changing players status the LB door gets opened for interpretation & that's also a mess I don't have time to deal with either. If after this season we work on adjusting the draft limitations, even if it is just a little, it should solve this issue. But for this draft, given we are just about half way through it, there's no fair way of modifying the rule & we will just have to work with it as is.

It is a problem. A better solution would be MFL doing it earlier.

Maybe the date they had in mind is August 1st for redraft but with dynasty I thought they would update a few weeks after the draft. They really should.

Leagues run year 'round these days.

I thought we kept these players? God I am so confused with all my leagues right now I need to run a spreadsheet to show all the differences. Oh, wait.....I already do.

I drafted Vonnie Holiday yesterday. NFL and MFL list him as a tackle but the Phins list him as a DE.I have to wait for Allen to be re listed as a S and now don't know what position Holiday will be.

I can't draft another safety or DE until this is cleared up. Of course I would be happy if Vonnie is a DT.

I'll be happy when the roster limits are changed. They are more complex than one might think.

The league goes by whatever MFL says.

Antrel Rolle is a safety, has been , for months. MFL lists him as a CB, it is was MFL says it is, draft accordingly.

I understand and agree with why it's done this way, to be fully open on the subject.

i was just going to post the same question about ......some LB/ DE guy... MFL is the deciding factor for the draft , but what if they change the players designation during the season? Either you will have too many of one position or be one short. ?

Then that player gets traded or dropped. It's a late round and I know the risks. I'm expecting Holiday to be changed to DE this week. If he is I'll need to draft a DT.

No, that is not true at all. That was one of the rules we re-worked this past off season. I even posted a link here to all the rule changes that were accomplished this year and I'm pretty certain I'd said to you in a PM that the rosters were open after the draft was finalized.

Let me ask this. Right now J Allen is designated a CB but is due to change to a S according to MFL. Can I now pick a 3rd S and keep him as a CB for the draft? If he changed later will it cause problems and nullify my draft?

It would be easier if players stayed the same through out the draft.


If they don't update I'll put in what I have to put in.

MFL today said they be updating next week instead(last week they said it would be done monday or tuesday this week), so question answered. Nevermind.

Who gives a crap? We're in round 30 of 32, we have 45 roster slots when the draft is over and most of us will be swapping bottom end guys like there's no tomorrow. I need a WR, PK and LB, for those of you still concentrating.

I do. When drafting a CB I want a cornerback. We're only allowed 2 so I want someone who plays the position. By free agency most will be gone.

Solution would be MFL updating when they planned but it didn't happen this time. I'll adjust.
