Anyone have any issues with doing a live draft Aug 17th in the evening at any point ?

For some reason, the slow drafts are wearing me thin. Where are the days, when we can set a date and everyone just show up and draft at one time.

If we could all get online and set a 3 minute timer or something...........I think we'd all enjoy it and have a little smack to boot !

I really don't need 12 hours or more to decide who I'm taking.

Thoughts ?

I'll have to check with the Mrs. I can't remember if we're busy the morning of the 17th, or the evening, but I'm busy one or the other.

Though, I might need a full 12 hours for my first pick. Not to make it, just to relish in it.

I'll have a problem with the afternoon of 17th (another draft). If we can make it late enough Pacific Standard Time, I may be able to that evening assuming east coasters can stay up late, but it won't be ideal.

I don't love the slow drafts either, but it's always so hard to get everyone together from across the country.

P.S. If we do a live draft, I like the timer to be 4-5 mins. This is a group that prepared and won't abuse the time, not to mention that I don't like the pressure of a 3 minute clock especially for the first 10 rounds. It's not that I'll use every second or even more than 3 minutes, I just hate that ticking clock (it's a mental thing).

I am fine anytime on the 17th. It would be nice if we could somehow manage to get everyone together for a live draft. Otherwise, I agree with the draft being sped up just a bit.

the 17th is still cool but my dance card is filling up fast. The sooner we can book it the better. BTW, I don't care if it starts late, like 9PM EST.

If the 17th is the date that works for everyone, I'll try to work something out. How long are we predicting the draft will go? 2 to 3 hours? Depending on that time, it may be better for me if the draft starts around 730PM EST, 430PM PST. It's not ideal as I'll have back-to-back drafts and I need to make sure the 1st is finished in time for ours, but I'd like to be done in time to rejoin my family for dinner that Sunday.

If we can all get on for 2 hours, that would be awesome . We may have 4-5 rounds left, but the meat of the draft would be over in a one-shot deal

I could do the 17th (I have live drafts of both the 23 and 24). An I would agree with TDFFFreak, 5 min clock would work.

Please remember that I said "yes" to the date contingent on an agreeable time so it works with my other draft and family plans.

I guess the 17th is fine with me. I would rather draft after the 3rd preseason game is done. What time are we talking about ? After 7:00 est is best for me.

I may need it to be closer to 730 PM EST. I need to make sure I finish the other draft that I will be involved in. We can gather at 7PM EST for an update, but I cannot start drafting until my other one is complete.

We're going to be up in Tahoe that day. Its a Sunday so I'd have a 3+hour drive home, after the draft, with wife and kids in tow. I can duck away for a few hours, but I can't delay our reasonable departure time. Need to get us home so the kids can get to bed around 9pm PST.

That means I should be on the road around 6pm PST, which would only give us about an hour and a half of live draft time if we fired it up at 4:30 PST (7:30 EST). I dunno. I can do earlier in the day no problem, though. Slow draft doesn't bother me, either.

Let's shoot for as much as we can get in on the 17th at 7:30Est time.

wow, i hate to do this, but i now have a conflict. i have tix to the bengals pre-season game on this night (starts at 7:30). at the time i committed, i wasn't sure which pre-season game i would get (and i forgot that the first game was at night on the 17th). i just got a call from my friend who is part of our season ticket group letting me know.

if everyone is OK with this time, i don't want to be the only one holding things back, so here is an idea ...

could someone e-mail me the picks made up to my spot and then i will e-mail back my pick from the game? i'll have my info with me and will respond quickly. other alternative would be to call me.

since yo can only go for 2 hours max, we won't be going through the entire draft this way, probably just a few rounds.

good news. i actually have the preseason game on the 23rd, not the 17th. my buddy told me i had the "second" preseason game and i thought he meant 2nd game overall vs. 2nd home game. bottom line, i'm good to go for the 17th, no need to email/phone.
