Full Version: Rules for Future Consideration - 2009

I'm starting this thread a little early this year due to a couple of issues that are draft related. Each year I will pin a thread for this in the MSHB forum. The thread is not necessarily for in depth discussion, but more of a notebook to write down possible changes that need to be addressed during Rules Review at season's end.

Feel free to post any ideas you have for changes either here or in the MSHB thread, both will be reviewed together. However, during rules review all rules discussions and votes will be done in the main MSHB forum so that it is all easier to keep up with & track.

If nothing else, I'm a procrastinator but a ridiculously organized one. If I wasn't we'd really be screwed. laughing.gif

Can we turn this into a dynasty or keeper league?

Drafts like this every year would be a bit too much work.

I will certainly give it fair consideration, but I doubt you will get much support for it. Especially from the MSHB group. Like I'd said before, the draft won't be this slow every year. Every now & then someone has access problems for one reason or another, but for the most part it goes pretty well. As for preparing for the draft, I'll be honest... I don't even use a cheat sheet anymore. I haven't done a single thing to prepare for my draft outside of trying to keep up with player news. It will only take you one season to get comfortable with both the players & the scoring. After that it's duck soup. Starting over every season only helps you develop strategies & become more familiar with the players themselves.

I've been doing IDP awhile and am pretty comfortable. The 2 pts per sack is a little unusual though. The other draft is pretty slow too.

People's draft strategy might have changed if they'd known this was a dynasty or a keeper. There could always be a seperate MSHB Dynasty league for next year?

Edited to say I realise my first sentence totally missed the point. doh.gif

I like it just the way it is.

For me, this league is like the icing on the cake for my FF experience. I didn't join this league to play FF. I joined it for what it means to a lot of people.

The draft this year was fine. We are basically done 2 weeks before the season starts. And I like the simplicity of it. Granted there are some new things to learn, but I had more fun with this draft than I've had in a long time. smile.gif

As the rules review for the 2009 season has come to a close I am unpinning this thread & will pin a new one for the 2010 rules review period.
